  • Leah Kate: The Platinum Pop Artist Who’s Embracing Her Spiral—and Doing it in Style

With a platinum plaque, a Kesha collab, and a brand-new anthem, Leah Kate is turning emotional chaos into main character moments, one unhinged track at a time. Platinum-certified pop provocateur Leah Kate is carving her own lane in the music world, one messy, magnetic anthem at a time. With over 350 million global streams and a breakout hit that took over TikTok and Top 40 radio, she’s become a go-to voice for emotional release and empowered chaos. Her latest single, “Dead Sexy Body,” released in early July, leans all the way into that identity. With cinematic production and a sultry, biting delivery, it captures the exact moment heartbreak turns into high-gloss revenge. Leah’s music walks the line between vulnerability and bravado, turning late-night breakdowns, romantic disasters, and fierce self-awareness into pop bangers that hit hard and stay stuck in your head. Beyond her solo success, she’s also a sought-after collaborator—recently co-writing Kesha’s fiery new single “ATTENTION!” and bringing her chaotic-genius energy to stages around the world, from Lollapalooza to Wireless Festival. Whether she’s owning the stage or crying in the club (in style), Leah is the definition of a main character, and her sound reflects every unfiltered mood. In this exclusive interview with Miami Living , Leah opens up about the inspiration behind “Dead Sexy Body,” the magic of working with Kesha, and why her music pairs perfectly with neon lights, bad decisions, and bold lipstick. From fashion to vulnerability to delusional confidence, she’s here to remind us all that it’s okay to spiral every now and then. “Dead Sexy Body” feels like such a confident, cinematic anthem. What inspired the song, and what was going through your mind while writing it? Leah Kate: That song is literally me walking into the room like I’m the main character in an early 2000s movie. I wanted to make something that felt hot, chaotic, and a little unhinged in the best way. It’s kind of about reclaiming your confidence after being completely destroyed — like, “Yeah, I’m spiraling, but I look amazing doing it.” It’s sexy, dramatic, a little toxic — very on brand for me. You recently collaborated with Kesha on her single “ATTENTION!”, which is a huge moment. What was it like writing with her, and how did that creative chemistry come together? Leah Kate: Writing with Kesha was such a full circle moment for me — she’s always been a huge inspiration. She walked into the room with so much fire and freedom, and we just immediately clicked. There was no filter — it was loud, it was emotional, it was real. We wrote “ATTENTION!” in this super raw, fearless way. It actually came together because she called my producer while we were together, and he said he was with me, and she said, “Can I pull up?” And when she got to the studio, she was like, “Soooo, let’s write a song together?” It was insane. “10 Things I Hate About You” blew up on TikTok and radio. What was that viral success like, and how has it changed your relationship with your music? Leah Kate: It was surreal. I’ll never forget after I wrote it. I did go home after writing it and played it for my parents and said, “Omg, I think this is a smash hit.” I just had that gut feeling. Watching it explode on TikTok and hearing it on the radio was so validating. It made me trust my instincts way more. Like — maybe being delusional is the move. You’ve toured with some massive names like Madison Beer and Hayley Kiyoko. Any standout memories from the road that helped shape you as a performer? Leah Kate: The Madison Beer tour was such a special one for me. Madison was so supportive and called me into her dressing room every night to debrief the shows, chat, and hang. She was a real one, and I loved opening for her so much. Fashion and visuals play a huge role in your brand. How does your personal style tie into the stories you’re telling through music? Leah Kate: My music is dramatic, unfiltered, and a little unhinged — and so is my wardrobe. I like to say my aesthetic is hot girl spiraling in style. I’ll wear a lace corset while crying on the dance floor. I love blending soft with savage — like, a girly pink dress with combat boots, or glossy lips while I’m singing about revenge. Everything is a contradiction, and I lean into that. With over 350 million streams and chart-topping singles, how do you stay grounded creatively? What keeps you inspired between projects? Leah Kate: Spiraling helps. Kidding. (Kind of.) Honestly, I stay inspired by living. Messy nights, intense crushes, emotional breakdowns in Ubers — that’s where the songs come from. I also write all the time. Even if it’s just a random phrase in my Notes app, I treat it like a diary. The music always catches up with the chaos eventually. What does the future hold for you and your music? Is there anything specific fans should be looking forward to? L eah Kate: YES. I’m about to drop my sophomore album soon, which is probably the most me thing I’ve ever made. It’s funny, messy, emotional, chaotic — all the moods in one place. I’m also working on more shows, more visuals, and some very unhinged merch. Stay tuned because the spiral is just beginning. As a rising voice in pop with a strong, unapologetic message, what do you hope your listeners, especially young women, take away from your music? Leah Kate: I want girls to feel like they can be everything at once. You can cry and still look hot. You can spiral and still be a genius. You don’t have to have it all together to be worthy or powerful or iconic. My music is about turning your mess into something that slaps. That’s what I hope people take away from it — your breakdown can be your breakthrough. Miami is all about bold style and high energy. How do you feel your music resonates specifically with fans in the city? Leah Kate: Miami is such a vibe — it’s loud, bold, unapologetic, and kinda chaotic in the best way. That’s literally my music. It’s the soundtrack to making bad decisions in good outfits. If you’re dancing through your heartbreak under neon lights with your best friends hyping you up — that’s a Leah Kate moment. If you were to take a dream vacation to Miami, what would your bucket list look like? Leah Kate: I’d hit the beach in full glam — red lip, tiny bikini, dramatic sunglasses. Ocean Drive for some cocktails. Neon lights, late-night dancing, and probably crying in a club bathroom at some point (but make it fashionable). Definitely blasting my own songs in the Uber and pretending it’s a music video. Classic delusion-core. You can connect with Leah Kate on Instagram @leah and on TikTok @leahkatemusic . “Dead Sexy Body” is available for streaming now on all platforms. By Morgan Harms | Photo Credits: Le3ay

  • Jack Pierson Returns to Miami: New Exhibition at The Bass

The Bass Museum of Art is pleased to announce Jack Pierson: The Miami Years , on view September 24, 2025, through August 16, 2026. This is the first exhibition devoted to exploring the city’s transformative impact on Pierson’s life and work. The Bass Museum of Art will present Jack Pierson: The Miami Years , the first exhibition dedicated to examining the influence of Miami on Pierson’s artistic development. Jack Pierson, born in New England in the 1960s, is known for work that explores themes such as desire, memory, loss, and time. Spanning photography, sculpture, drawing, painting, film, books, and installation, his practice is rooted in emotional narratives and personal reflection. Emerging in the early 1990s alongside artists like Nan Goldin and David Armstrong, Pierson became recognized for his intimate portrayals of queer life and bohemian culture in cities including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Provincetown, and Miami Beach. Pierson’s work often incorporates found materials—weathered objects, repurposed signage, and thrifted furniture—while drawing on the aesthetics of punk, advertising, and popular culture. His projects for magazines and galleries are closely intertwined, reflecting consistent themes of isolation, wanderlust, escapism, and the search for meaning amid impermanence. This exhibition focuses on Pierson’s first extended visit to Miami Beach in the winter of 1984, a period that marked both personal growth and creative exploration. At the time, Miami was undergoing a cultural transformation—its emerging art scene, eclectic nightlife, and evolving celebrity presence providing fertile ground for inspiration. This dynamic context continues to echo throughout Pierson’s work. A centerpiece of the exhibition is ARRAY (MIAMI)  (2025), a newly commissioned, large-scale collage featuring posters, poems, postcards, photographs, and works on paper. The piece reflects the artist’s longstanding engagement with themes of transience and nostalgia, filtered through the lens of his Miami experience. Jack Pierson: The Miami Years  highlights the city’s lasting impact on Pierson’s practice and situates his work within broader dialogues at the intersection of contemporary art, fashion, and culture. • 8 Simple Ways Miami Residents Can Safeguard Homes and Cars in 2025

Protecting your home and car in Miami means tackling challenges. Like? Severe weather, potential theft, and unexpected risks. But with the following eight steps, you can secure your property and vehicles - and gain peace of mind. Image by JayMantri / Pixabay First Off: Ways to Safeguard Your Home Protecting a home in Miami requires preparation and smart choices.  These super tips will help you to safeguard your property (while addressing the unique challenges that come with living in Miami!). Choose the Right Insurance Policy As you’ll know: Miami indisputably has unpredictable weather. That, combined with its coastal location, makes insurance a critical part of home protection. But not all policies are created equal, so understanding your options is key.  Many homeowners unknowingly settle for plans that exclude the must-haves of flood  and hurricane  coverage. That should be an absolute no-no in Miami. Some plans offer benefits like coverage for debris removal after storms, while others may provide assistance for temporary housing if your home (heaven forbid!) becomes uninhabitable. Before committing, ask these important questions: Does this policy cover flood damage? Are windstorm damages included, or is additional coverage required? How much will I need to pay out-of-pocket for major repairs? Get started in your home insurance journey by taking a look at https://www.its4women.ie  for various options. Reinforce Your Home Against Hurricanes and Flooding Living in Miami means facing the horrendous hurricane season. Preparing your home structurally can save thousands of dollars (eek!) in potential damage.  Start by evaluating nasty weak spots in your home’s structure. Focus on areas that are most vulnerable to both strong winds and water infiltration. Reinforcements include: Installing impact-resistant doors and windows. Elevating critical systems. Sealing cracks around foundations or walls. Additionally, consider a sump pump.  Upgrade to Smart Security Systems Smart technology has changed home security for the better.  Modern systems go beyond alarms, offering real-time updates and remote control through your smartphone.  Look into systems with impressive features like: Motion detectors that send alerts to your phone. Cameras with night vision. Doorbell cameras that let you see visitors in real time. Some systems even include environmental monitoring, detecting: Smoke. Carbon monoxide . Water leaks.  Choose devices compatible with your smart home setup for seamless integration.  By upgrading to smarter solutions, you’re not just protecting property - you’re adding convenience and peace of mind at every step of daily life. Perform Regular Maintenance to Avoid Common Hazards Home maintenance is a fundamental step in preventing avoidable risks. Such as? Undesirable electrical fires or water damage. Key areas to inspect regularly include: Roofs for loose shingles or leaks. Gutters for clogs that might cause overflow during heavy rains. Schedule professional HVAC servicing annually to ensure systems run efficiently. Why? The notorious Florida heat can strain them significantly.  And keep an eye on trees near your home—overgrown branches can fall during storms and cause intense damage. Image by Gabriel Hohol / Pexels Next Up: Ways to Safeguard Your Car Your car also faces unique risks in Miami.  With these impactful measures, you can ensure its safety, reduce costly repairs, and enjoy peace of mind. Install a GPS Tracking Device for Theft Recovery Installing a GPS tracking device increases the chances of recovering your vehicle (heaven forbid), if it’s stolen.  When choosing a tracker, consider features such as: Geofencing alerts. Battery backup (to ensure continuous operation). Mobile app integration (for instant tracking). Some advanced models also include additional security measures like engine immobilization remotely through your phone.  Protect Your Car from Flood Damage During Storms Miami’s flood-prone areas put vehicles at high risk during heavy rains or hurricanes. Taking preventative steps can save you from costly repairs caused by water damage. Start by parking on elevated ground whenever possible, especially if you know storms are coming.  And avoid leaving your car near drains or low-lying streets where water accumulates quickly. Other helpful measures? They include these: Using waterproof car covers. Sealing windows and doors. Applying rust-proof treatments. And staying aware of local weather forecasts allows time for preparation. Invest in Comprehensive Insurance Coverage Comprehensive coverage adds an extra layer of protection against: Theft. Storm damage. Unexpected incidents. What should policies include? Flood damage repairs from tropical storms or hurricanes. Replacement costs if the car is stolen and unrecoverable. Coverage for falling debris during severe weather events. Having the right policy gives you peace of mind - knowing that no matter what happens (on or off the road!), you’re well-protected. Use Anti-Theft Devices to Deter Criminals Miami’s urban areas make cars a frequent target for theft. Adding anti-theft devices discourages criminals. How? By making your vehicle harder to steal or tamper with. Consider installing: Steering wheel locks as visible deterrents. Immobilizers. Alarm systems. For added security, use less common tools like tire locks or hood latches to secure key components under the hood.  By ML Staff. Images courtesy of Pexels & Pixabay

  • Bremont Introduces the Altitude MB Meteor Stealth Grey

Bremont proudly introduces the Altitude MB Stealth Grey, a striking new addition to the Altitude collection and the latest evolution of a partnership that has redefined aviation horology. Developed in collaboration with Martin-Baker, the British engineering company responsible for over 75% of the world’s aircraft ejection seat technology, the Altitude MB Stealth Grey continues the legacy of watches tested to the limits—and worn by those who understand the value of reliability under pressure. The MB Stealth Grey limited-edition blends uncompromising functionality with a bold and contemporary aesthetic. The limited launch of 400 pieces further demonstrates Bremont’s dedication and passion in creating the most high-performance tool watches to suit any environment. Following the launch of the MB Meteor and elevated Altitude collection in April 2025, the MB Stealth Grey integrates frontline materials, improved ergonomics, and significant technical advancements into the MB’s dual-crown, Trip-Tick format. The 42mm Trip-Tick case of the MB Stealth Grey is crafted from treated Grade 2 titanium, producing a subtly textured, ultra-matt finish that absorbs light— reminiscent of stealth aircraft and naval vessels. The matt, monochromatic design strips away reflection and visual noise, creating a canvas where every angle, curve and negative space can be appreciated—showcasing the pure intent of the watch’s purpose-to be the perfect tool watch. The iconic central barrel, rendered in knurled black PVD, reinforces the rugged nature of the MB line. With its ‘glass box’ sapphire crystal and the new, concave, angled bezel profile, the case offers a powerful visual clarity and strong presence on the wrist. The knurled dual crowns – one at 2 o’clock for winding and setting, and one at 4 o’clock for operating the bi-directional inner bezel – have been optimized for ergonomics and utility, delivering a much smoother operation. The inner bezel’s Roto-Click technology has also been re-engineered, ensuring effortless and precise action with the pure, satisfying click familiar to MB owners. The MB Stealth Grey’s dial features a meteorite-inspired embossed texture, achieved by scanning the surface of an actual meteorite and recreating it via stamping onto a brass plate. Treated with a durable, electro-applied finish, it offers an entirely unique interpretation of the natural material whilst enhancing its stability and durability. Applied numerals and indexes, filled with high-grade white Super-LumiNova® (blue emission), ensure optimum readability and clarity. The bi-directional rotating inner bezel is operated by the rota-click mechanism which can be adjusted using the knurled 4 o’clock crown—a signature of the Bremont MB design DNA. The watch retains one of the MB’s most iconic features: the striking yellow ‘lollipop’ seconds hand counterbalanced by a looped ‘ejection’ pull handle in yellow and black nods to the vibrancy of the original, iconic MBI. This has inspired new details also redolent of a military aircraft cockpit: a dashed line around the date window and as before, the red triangle at the heart of the dial echoes the triangular “DANGER” warning that appears on all ejector seats. These bright yellow accents not only nod to flight safety standards but also serve as visual pops against the stealthy grey palette—a reminder of the watch’s technical heritage and life-saving legacy. At its core, the Altitude MB Stealth Grey is powered by Bremont’s BB14-AH movement, built on a Le Joux Perret calibre, featuring 24 jewels, a 68-hour power reserve. The movement is suspended within a flexible rubber mount to absorb shocks and minimise impacts, while soft-iron shielding protects against powerful magnetic fields. The model features an open case-back, revealing the movement’s fine finishing in gunmetal grey with Geneva Stripes. The Altitude MB Stealth Grey is offered exclusively on a matt titanium bracelet with quick-release functionality. Built for comfort, endurance and resilience, the bracelet reinforces the lightweight and performance-led nature of the limited-edition model. Ground Floor:  A striking entry experience with sleek lines, rich wood finishes, and contemporary accents creates a welcoming ambiance reminiscent of a luxury yacht deck. The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) has announced its Fall 2025 programming, unveiling three contemporary presentations that reflect on nature, heritage, and environmental stewardship. Opening this November 5 , the season’s highlights include Hiba Schahbaz: The Garden , Diana Eusebio: Field of Dreams , and Magnus Sodamin’s Floridian Totems —a site-specific installation on MOCA’s plaza. Timed ahead of MOCA’s 30th anniversary in 2026, the fall exhibitions will be celebrated during Miami Art Week with a public reception on Tuesday, December 2. “These exhibitions speak powerfully to the values and experiences of our community,” said Chana Sheldon, MOCA’s Executive Director. “They reflect our mission to uplift contemporary art grounded in both local roots and global perspectives.” Art/Philip Smith: Magnetic Fields Fall 2025 Exhibitions at MOCA: Hiba Schahbaz: The Garden Schahbaz’s first-ever museum survey brings together over 80 works spanning 15 years, including new pieces and a site-specific commission. Curated by Jasmine Wahi , the exhibition explores themes of identity, transformation , and feminist reclamation through dreamlike, mythological landscapes. Inspired by Persian and Mughal gardens, the show blends ancient miniature painting traditions with large-scale contemporary compositions, placing women at the center of mystical and symbolic worlds. Diana Eusebio: Field of Dreams Marking her first solo museum exhibition , Miami-based textile artist Diana Eusebio presents 38 works rooted in her Indigenous Peruvian-Quechua and Afro-Dominican heritage. Using natural dyes and digital printing , Eusebio merges ancestral techniques with modern design, creating immersive, fabric-based installations. The exhibition will feature naturally dyed gallery walls and host public programming, including dye workshops, to celebrate sustainable craft and intergenerational knowledge. Magnus Sodamin: Floridian Totems Debuting September 24 as part of MOCA’s Art on the Plaza series, Magnus Sodamin ’s Floridian Totems transforms wildlife sketches into aluminum sculptures celebrating Florida’s ecosystems. Vibrant and reflective, the totems stand as symbolic markers of the state’s ecological fragility and will remain on view through February 1, 2026 . The exhibitions will remain on view through March 16, 2026 . For more information on upcoming exhibitions and public programming, visit mocanomi.org . By ML Staff. Photos/MOCA

  • David Yurman announces newest flagship in Miami’s Design District

David Yurman , America’s premier luxury jewelry brand, announces the  opening of its newest Miami flagship. Situated in the heart of the Design District, one of the country’s  most vibrant and artistic neighborhoods, the brand’s new flagship serves as a design playground for  artists and jewelry devotees.  The boutique’s design is a collaborative masterpiece, overseen by President and Chief Creative Officer  Evan Yurman with esteemed Italian architect Andrea Tognon, and Consulting Creative Director  Bernadette Blanc. Drawing inspiration from the precious metals and stones of the Yurman family’s  private collection, the construction embodies the essence of the brand’s artistry.  “We are thrilled to be opening our new Miami flagship in the center of the art community,” says  President Evan Yurman. “As a brand founded by two artists, this space reflects our family legacy and  shared vision to create beautiful things that inspire us–whether that be our product, store experience , or design. Collaborating with Andrea Tognon and Bernadette Blanc, we believed there was no better  location to debut this one-off concept in a neighborhood fueled by artistic fervor and heritage that  attracts many of our existing and future consumers.”  “We started discussing the project from the perspective of jewelry—cutting the façade from a gigantic  volume of stone, fusing the split stone with a metallic paint, resulting in an incredible monolithic vision  and presence on the street,” said Tognon. The façade is detailed with an impressive, extruded logo, a  nod to the brand’s Americana core heritage.  Once inside the boutique, guests will find meticulously crafted fixtures made of various stone finishes,  resembling precious jewelry insertions. A stepped wall inside is made of vertically cut pieces of granite,  moving in a curve, displayed like a necklace. Tributes to the brand’s iconic Cable appear throughout the  space, as seen in the sculpted handrail at the store entrance, as well as the circular vitrine underneath  the staircase. On the second floor, a private salon overlooking the Design District features the brand’s Men’s, Women’s, and High Jewelry collections mixed in with an extraordinary collection of David  Yurman’s personal artwork and private objects.    Tognon’s approach to furniture craftsmanship is rooted in the deconstruction of something to its basic  elements and re-envisioning it in a new form, similarly to the way that the brand’s signature Cable is  constantly reimagined and incorporated in David Yurman designs. As the unifying thread that connects  all of the brand’s collections, Cable continues to be used in a multitude of innovative and contemporary  ways.  The new boutique will feature exclusive styles, inspired by Miami’s magnetic atmosphere, landscapes,  and tropical sunsets. Featuring bold and semi-precious stones in electric pinks, neon greens, cobalt blue,  and fire orange, these dynamic and radiant pieces embody the excitement and vitality of the city.  “The retail world is constantly rethinking itself,” says architect Andrea Tognon. “As we collaborated with  Evan Yurman on this project, our main goal was innovation coexisting with the brands rich heritage.  Working together, we were able to design a classic design ground in which new and existing consumers  can feel comfortable exploring.”  David Yurman’s new Miami flagship is open daily from 11AM-7PM.
