Barry University and Miami Country Day School Partner to Share Athletic Facilities, Boosting Student-Athlete Training Opportunities

Barry University and Miami Country Day School have announced a strategic partnership to share athletic facilities, enhancing training resources for student-athletes at both institutions.

Under the agreement, Miami Country Day students will access Barry University’s fields and training centers for sports including soccer, baseball, softball, and lacrosse. Conversely, Barry University athletes will use Miami Country Day’s swimming facilities to support their nationally recognized Division II programs.

The partnership promotes resource sharing between higher education and K–12 schools, maximizing campus facilities and expanding athletic opportunities.

Barry University has submitted plans to Miami Shores Village as part of its Campus Master Plan, proposing upgraded fields with turf made from 100% sustainable materials, press boxes, LED lighting, batting cages, and landscaping enhancements including 100 new trees.

“This partnership reflects Barry University’s commitment to enriching opportunities for our students while serving as a strong community partner,” said Barry University President Dr. Mike Allen.

Miami Country Day School President Mariandl Hufford added, “This agreement provides our students with access to Barry’s championship-level facilities, while supporting Barry’s athletes through our swimming complex. It’s a true win-win for both institutions and the Miami Shores community.”

The announcement was celebrated with a signing ceremony at Barry University attended by university and school leaders, student-athletes, local officials, and community representatives.
