On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Heart of the Game, Inc., a West Palm Beach based non-profit committed to saving lives by providing free AEDs, donated a life-saving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society

Craig Goldenfarb, founder of Heart of the Game and CEO of GOLDLAW, was joined by Mike Terrell, curator of animal experiences at Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society, for the donation. Zoo staff will also receive AED training, ensuring the safety of both employees and thousands of visitors.

Heart of the Game is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preventing Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) by providing free AEDs to schools, community clubs, athletic facilities and other public spaces across Florida. In collaboration with its partners, Heart of the Game strategically places AEDs in public locations and hosts educational programs to train individuals on their use. Schools, community clubs and athletic facilities are welcome to apply for a free AED through the program.

Heart of the Game was founded in 2016 by Goldenfarb. When his father almost died from sudden cardiac arrest, Craig was only 17 years old. Luckily, his father survived after having a triple bypass operation. However, the importance of a quick response to cardiac failure became apparent early in Goldenfarb’s life, due to his father’s near-death experience.
