- The Global Impact Of Inter Miami & Messi
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the definitive players for any Gen Z or Millennial football fan. Even the mention of one without the other can kickstart a debate. Although the early to mid-2010s is when both of these megastars were at their peak, and they’ve since made way for a new wave of elite footballing talent, as they both enter the final years of their career, they remain two of the most recognizable faces in sport. Tapping Into The Biggest Global Market Although football is by far the most popular sport in the world, there’s still plenty of growth potential in the US market. We’ve witnessed how the changing fortunes of an industry, especially in the US, have the potential to kickstart a new level of possibilities. Online casino gaming in the US has gone from being a fraction of the global market to spearheading the latest innovations and attracting some of the world’s most profitable companies to US shores. Granted, this has been a result of several factors, including smartphones and devices that now have the capability and bandwidth to host casino gaming more effectively, with online roulette now a substantial market in the US. As more casino companies seek to capture a share of the US market, the demand for online roulette games continues to grow among those looking to play. Casino gaming companies have been leveraging the power of the internet and social media for over a decade. However, with more of them turning to social media juggernauts like Instagram to promote their games to a broader audience, as shown in the link below, it’s up to sports and other areas of entertainment to adapt their market to a digital global audience as well. It’s this ethos that the MLS is looking to capture, and while it isn’t the first time an MLS franchise has broken the bank to bring in one of the most high-profile names in the sport, Lionel Messi, for many, is the best player to have ever played the game. So, even in the twilight of his career, it’s a huge scalp, which has transformed US soccer in many ways, and it highlights how the MLS is looking to a much broader audience to increase its visibility in the global footballing market. Messi’s Endearing Magic Those who are well-versed in the world of the MLS are well-versed in the global attention that Lionel Messi brings to the league. Likewise, Cristiano Ronaldo’s impact in the Saudi Pro League has helped to bring the fortunes of that domestic league to a new level, too. His recent contract extension, worth close to half a billion dollars, yet not without its detractors , showcases how the Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo era, even in its dying embers, still generates enormous online engagement. While Messi has yet to commit his future to Inter Miami in the same manner, some in the footballing world view this as a bargaining chip to secure a better contract from his current employers. Here are some quickfire stats which showcase just how profound the global impact of Messi’s signing was on the Inter Miami brand: The Instagram account exploded from 1 million followers to over 15 million. In 2023, Messi’s Inter Miami jersey became the best-selling out of any sport in the US. His arrival transformed Miami into a global sporting hub, shifting the focus away from the traditional activities most closely associated with the city. The arrival of Messi and his teammates Suarez shifted the focus away from the MLS as a “retirement league” and a league that professionals still look toward when they still have a few solid years left. Exploring The Future Of MLS Player Signings Lionel Messi might be the figurehead for MLS marketing at the moment. Still, as he draws to the end of a glittering career, there are already other franchises looking to follow the exact blueprint and get a marquee name through the door. After Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, though, few players can capture a casual sporting audience, particularly in the US. In addition to selecting the right player to take MLS marketing in a fresh direction, there’s also the competition from the top European leagues, which often attract the best players due to the overall quality of the competition. Other competitor leagues, such as the Saudi Pro League, can offer wages and merchandising that surpass those of the MLS by a country mile. There’s also the potential for the European Super League, which was initially met with widespread criticism back in 2021. If the billionaire owners of the top European clubs seek to reshape the European domestic game, this could pave the way for a different dynamic and position that allows challenger leagues like the MLS to take advantage on a global stage. - 4 Empowering Career Moves for Women in Healthcare
After dealing with night shifts and staying steady under pressure for years, there comes a point in their healthcare career when a woman asks what comes next. Perhaps you’ve outgrown your current role and are craving something more challenging, or maybe you’re yearning for a specific specialization to focus on moving forward in your career. Image by Tima Miroshnichenko / Pexels Whether you’re looking for leadership in your next move or want more autonomy in your day-to-day dealings, there are many moves you can make in your career, especially with Miami’s ever-growing health and wellness culture . If you’re ready to take that next bold step into the unknown, here are four career moves designed to help women in healthcare rise, lead, and thrive. Specialize in Women’s Health Services If you’re a healthcare worker passionate about advocacy and patient-centered care, especially when you work with women, you might consider specializing in women’s health services as your next career move. That means focusing on reproductive health, maternal care, or even mental health support for women. You could become a women’s health nurse practitioner, or maybe get involved with mental health services to help women get the psychiatric care they need, choose the right rehab facility that fits their needs, and everything in between. Transition from RN to Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) RNs who have mastered bedside care might be craving something a little more specialized and will get them to upskill. If that sounds like you, maybe it’s time to level up your nursing career and become an APRN. By getting more credentials to your name, you can become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), certified nurse midwife, or whatever advanced role you wish to pursue. If you’re interested in transitioning into an APRN role, enroll in Florida nurse practitioner programs designed to help you upskill while balancing work and study. These programs are your stepping stone to greater clinical independence and higher earning potential. Move Into Leadership or Administration After spending years on the frontlines of healthcare, you may feel ready to lead a team of your own and help shape health policies and systems. If that sounds like it’s up your alley, then your calling might be to move into a leadership or administrative role, like a clinical director or nurse manager. If you want to become a leader in your field, develop the characteristics for effective leadership in healthcare , like communication and a high ethical standard. After you land your dream leadership role, use those skills to drive meaningful change, from improving patient care to mentoring younger staff. Start Your Own Practice or Consulting Service If you’d like to serve on your own terms, you can also consider launching a private practice or starting a healthcare consulting business. This allows you to continue using your clinical expertise to help those in need while becoming an entrepreneur in your own right. With a private practice, you gain full autonomy over your healthcare career. Whether you dream of opening a women’s wellness clinic or a holistic primary care office, this path allows you to build a place that aligns with your values and passions as a seasoned healthcare professional. Endnote When it comes to your healthcare career, the path forward is yours to define. You don’t need to stay in this role forever, especially if you’re starting to feel stuck or stagnant. You can move into a leadership role, advance your nursing career, or even start your own practice if you’re ready. The opportunities for women in healthcare have never been more expansive. Don’t be afraid to level up and take the leap to the next chapter in your career. By ML Staff. Image courtesy of Pexels

- What Will the Long July 4 Holiday Weekend Be Like on the Water for Boaters?
When NOAA, The Weather Channel and even the Farmer’s Almanac all agree this summer will be hotter than average, boaters know they will need to prepare for the heat. However, on America’s July 4 holiday weekend – when waterways traditionally experience the most recreational boating traffic of year by volume – boat owners will also need to prepare for the unexpected. The nation’s largest on-water towing service for boaters, TowBoatUS, could see more than 2500 requests for routine assistance over the long weekend, including tows back to a marina or launch ramp, soft ungrounding help, battery jumps or fuel drop-offs. America’s July 4 holiday weekend is traditionally the busiest time of year for recreational boating traffic on the nation’s waterways, according to BoatUS (credit BoatUS). “The July 4 holiday is the one time a year that nearly every boat owner will try to be out on the water, whether it’s having friends aboard for a beachside BBQ or taking the boat out at night to view a fireworks display,” said BoatUS Towing Services Manager Chris Dolan. The nationwide TowBoatUS towing fleet of more than 600 red response vessels at more than 300 locations typically sees more than 110,000 requests from boaters for on-water assistance annually. On the July 4 holiday weekend, a spike in calls for on-water assistance is expected to start on the East Coast and cascade westward through U.S. time zones beginning around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. “That’s about the time the fireworks shows end and a boater realizes their battery is dead, their engine simply won’t start, or they’ve run aground in the dark on a shoal on their way home,” said Dolan. The nation’s largest on-water towing service for boaters, TowBoatUS, could see more than 2500 requests for routine on-water assistance over the long July 4 holiday weekend (credit BoatUS) Interestingly, the TowBoatUS towing fleet is also expected to respond to a spike in requests for dock-to-dock tows, a higher level of service provided under the BoatUS Unlimited Gold Towing membership, after the mayhem. “Dock-to-dock tows are scheduled tows typically for the purpose of repairs, so the Monday after the weekend will likely be busy for us as boat usage was up over the weekend with a corresponding level of unexpected boat issues.” What should boaters know? “Make sure your boat is ready. Everyone will need be extra patient and go slower, watching wakes, keeping extra lookout and being extra patient at launch ramps and busy thoroughfares, especially after the shows end,” said Dolan. “It’s also important to ensure your towing membership is current,” he adds. “We’re ready to help with a skilled fleet of veteran towboat captains and the equipment to get you home.” To learn more about BoatUS Unlimited and Gold Membership plans, go to BoatUS.com/Towing .
