  • Jannik Sinner's Take on Miami & More

Jannik Sinner recently sat down with Miami Living to discuss his perspectives on Miami and beyond. Image courtesy of USTA “I did pretty well, I guess,” Jannik Sinner joked in his winner's speech after clinching his first US Open title, becoming the first Italian men's singles champion at the tournament. The World No. 1 demonstrated why he is currently the leading force in men’s tennis by defeating American No. 1 Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in straight sets at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Sinner showcased his relentless firepower to secure his second major title of the year, bookending an outstanding Grand Slam season. Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “This title means so much because the last period of my career was really not easy… I understood, especially in this tournament, how important the mental part is in this sport.” On Miami “It’s always nice to come back to Miami! I have played there twice in the finals, and I’m looking forward to coming back again. Miami has this mix of being a relaxed city but also having a dynamic crowd, making it very enjoyable. Being in two Miami Open finals is definitely memorable.” Off the Court “I like to go to restaurants, eat, and relax with friends.” On Animals “I like the work of Animal Tracker. It is an app that allows you to follow the movements of wild animals in real-time all over the world.” More on Sinner Italian tennis prodigy Jannik Sinner, born in 2001, has quickly risen to prominence in the tennis world. He reached a career-high ranking of world No. 4 by the ATP, matching the record set by Adriano Panatta as the highest-ranked Italian male player. In 2020, Jannik Sinner secured his first ATP title and broke into the top 40. He notably defeated top players like David Goffin and Stefanos Tsitsipas. By 2021, Sinner had clinched four titles, reached a Masters 1000 final, and debuted in the top 10. In 2022, he made three major quarterfinals and won his first clay court title. The following year, Sinner won his first Masters 1000 title at the 2023 Canadian Open and became world No. 4, and led Italy to victory in the Davis Cup. In 2024, he claimed his first major title by winning the Australian Open, defeating Novak Djokovic in the semifinals and Daniil Medvedev in the final, solidifying his status as a major champion. Seeded No. 1 at the US Open, Sinner cements himself as the player to beat for the rest of the season by winning the title against Taylor Fritz in commanding fashion. Sinner’s journey began in South Tyrol, Italy, where he excelled in skiing, football, and tennis. Despite initial success in skiing, he chose to focus solely on tennis at age 13, relocating to Bordighera to train under coach Riccardo Piatti. His dedication and talent propelled him into the professional circuit, where he became one of the few players to win multiple ATP Challenger Tour titles at just 17 years old. Despite limited success as a junior player, Sinner’s transition to the professional tour marked the beginning of a meteoric rise in tennis. His tenacity, skill, and strategic prowess have cemented his place among the sport’s elite, leading to historic triumphs on the ATP Tour and at Grand Slam events like the Australian Open. Jannik Sinner, currently residing in Monte Carlo, Monaco, is a fan of A.C. Milan football club. His tennis idols include compatriot Andreas Seppi, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic. Sinner, raised in a German-speaking family, improved his Italian after relocating to Bordighera at age 13. He also speaks English fluently. Known for his healthy diet and conservative lifestyle, Sinner has a passion for cars. • The Art of First Impressions: Dressing for Success

In a world where first impressions are often made in the blink of an eye, the way we present ourselves can have a profound impact on both personal and professional relationships. While it’s often said that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, the reality is that appearances do matter. Dressing well isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling confident and projecting an image of success and competence. In this blog, we’ll explore the significance of first impressions, the psychological effects of dressing well, and how investing in your appearance can open doors to new opportunities. Image by bernardbodo / Adobestock The Psychology of First Impressions Research shows that people form opinions about others within the first seven seconds of meeting them. These initial impressions are based on a variety of factors, including body language, tone of voice, and, most importantly, appearance. Our brains are wired to make quick assessments of people, and these judgments can influence everything from trustworthiness to competence. Dressing appropriately for the occasion sends a message about who you are and what you stand for. A well-dressed individual is often perceived as more organized, capable, and trustworthy. In contrast, a sloppy appearance can suggest a lack of attention to detail or even a disregard for the situation. The clothes you choose to wear act as a visual cue that shapes others' perceptions of you, whether consciously or subconsciously. Dressing for Success: More Than Just Clothes It’s not just about what you wear, but how you wear it. Confidence is key, and the right outfit can be a powerful tool in boosting self-assurance. When you dress well, you not only feel better about yourself but also command respect from those around you. This is particularly true in professional settings, where your attire can influence how colleagues, clients, and supervisors perceive your abilities. Tailored clothing, in particular, plays a crucial role in achieving that perfect fit that speaks volumes about your attention to detail and commitment to excellence. While off-the-rack options are convenient, they often lack the personal touch that a tailored outfit provides. Custom fits not only enhance your silhouette but also cater to your unique body type, ensuring that you look polished and put-together. Wearing custom suits  can significantly enhance your appearance, making a powerful statement about your attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Image by ZoomTeam / Adobestock Beyond the Boardroom: The Impact of Dressing Well in Everyday Life The benefits of dressing well extend far beyond the professional realm. In social settings, the right attire can boost your confidence and help you make a lasting impression. Whether you’re attending a wedding, a networking event, or a casual get-together, dressing appropriately shows respect for the occasion and the people you’re with. It also allows you to express your personal style, which is an important aspect of your identity. Investing in quality clothing that fits well and reflects your personality is not just about vanity; it’s about presenting the best version of yourself to the world. Clothes are a form of self-expression, and they can significantly influence your mood and how you interact with others. A well-chosen outfit can turn a mundane day into a memorable one, simply because it makes you feel good. The Hidden Benefits of a Well-Curated Wardrobe A thoughtfully curated wardrobe can save you time, reduce stress, and even make decision-making easier. When you know that everything in your closet fits well and looks great, getting dressed in the morning becomes a pleasure rather than a chore. This level of preparedness can help set a positive tone for your day, allowing you to focus on the tasks at hand rather than worrying about your appearance. Moreover, a well-organized wardrobe can be a reflection of a well-organized life. It suggests that you have your priorities straight and that you’re ready to take on whatever challenges come your way. In many ways, dressing well is a form of self-care that goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about respecting yourself and the world around you. Image by izzetugutmen / Adobestock Conclusion The power of a first impression cannot be underestimated, and dressing well is an essential tool in your arsenal. By investing in quality, well-fitting clothing, you’re not just enhancing your appearance; you’re also boosting your confidence, improving how others perceive you, and setting the stage for success in all areas of your life. Whether in the boardroom, at a social event, or simply going about your day, the right outfit can make all the difference. By ML Staff. Images courtesy of Adobestock

  • Wang & Lowry Conquer First FJT Event at Copperleaf

The first Florida Junior Tour Open (16-18) event of the fall was hosted at Copperleaf Golf Club. This was the par-72 track’s first time ever hosting an FSGA event of any kind, ensuring the competitors would face a new test that would challenge their games. Two beautiful days led to fantastic scores all around the property, and in the end it was Xin Wang and Jamie Lowry taking home the victories. Boys (16-18) At the end of the first round, Xin Wang, a 2026 graduate from Bradenton, had taken hold of the lead with an impressive first-round score of 5-under par, 67. After playing his first six holes at 2-over par, the Bradenton native would go on to birdie seven of his final 12 holes (8 total birdies on the day), including three consecutive birdies on holes 16 through 18. Just one stroke behind the leader was Marco Sanchez. The 2026 graduate from Weston would card five birdies and an eagle on his way to an impressive score of 4-under par, 68. Maurice Hoben, a 2026 graduate from Jupiter, sat in third thanks to his 2-under par, 70, bogey-free round. In the final round, Wang would extend his lead to two strokes with just nine holes to play after playing the front-nine at 1-under par. As Sanchez and Hoben struggled, Ethan Weinberg, a 2025 graduate from Lutz, emerged as the greatest challenger to the round-one leader. With just four holes to play, the Lutz native was bogey-free and five-under par on the day, leaving him one shot behind Wang. After Wang bogeyed the par-4 17th hole, the two would be tied with just one hole to play. A bogey from Weinberg and a par from Wang would give the 2026 graduate a one-shot victory, his second on the Florida Junior Tour and first in the 16-18 Division. Girls (16-18) Two players would hold a share of the lead through the first 18 holes. Jamie Lowry, a 2025 graduate from Fort Myers, played very consistently throughout the day, carding three birdies and three bogeys, on her way to a first-round score of even-par, 72. Also tied for the lead was Abigail Lee, a 2026 graduate from Pembroke Pines. The Pembroke Pines native’s round was a tale of two nines as she would play the back-nine four shots better than the front, ultimately finishing with a score of even-par, 72. Sara Vitasek, a 2025 graduate from Naples, would finish the round one shot behind the leaders with a score of 1-over par, 73. On Sunday, Lowry and Lee would continue to battle atop the leaderboard; however, they were joined by Ana Boone, a 2026 graduate from ChampionsGate. After birdies from Boone on the 18th and second holes, the three competitors would be tied for first at even-par with just seven holes remaining. Bogeys from Boone and Lee would push Lowry into a one-shot lead with just three holes to play, and the Forty Myers native would not give it up. Lowry ultimately completed a one-shot victory, her first on the Florida Junior Tour. By ML Staff. Content/Image courtesy of FSGA

  • Nader Sculpture Park Set to Open in Miami, Featuring Over 50 Renowned Artists

The Nader Sculpture Park, a new addition to Miami's cultural landscape, is set to open in late 2024. This innovative project, founded by Gary Nader, aims to enhance Miami's reputation as an international art hub. The park will feature over 50 sculptures by renowned artists, including Fernando Botero, Richard Hudson, Frank Stella, Edgar Plans, Soraya Abu Nabaa, Rufino Tamayo, Agustin Cardenas, Edgar Negret, Alexander Calder, Rachel Valdes, Sophia Vari, Bernar Venet, Saint Clair Cemin, Robert Indiana, Olafur Eliasson, Carlos Cruz-Diez, and Jesus Soto. A highlight of the park is the installation of Fernando Botero's monumental sculpture "Leda and the Swan" in the heart of the Miami Design District, which has been on display since September 5th. Valued at $5 million, this piece exemplifies Botero’s distinctive style of voluptuous figures and sensual themes. The work is inspired by the Greek myth in which Zeus, disguised as a swan, seduces Leda—a theme historically interpreted by artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Peter Paul Rubens, François Boucher, and Cy Twombly. The Nader Sculpture Park will not only provide a platform for international art but also serve as a space for cultural, recreational, and private events, becoming a significant landmark in the Miami Design District. This initiative reflects Gary Nader's ongoing efforts to promote art and position Miami as a global art destination. For more information, please visit GaryNader.com . By ML Staff.
