- Are Canadian Pharmacies a Safe Way to Save on Ozempic? What to Check
For individuals managing type 2 diabetes, Ozempic has become a trusted medication that helps regulate blood sugar levels and, in some cases, supports weight loss. However, like many brand-name prescriptions, its cost can place a heavy burden on patients, especially those without comprehensive insurance coverage. Image by DepositPhotos This financial strain has led many people in the United States to look north of the border, where Canadian pharmacies often advertise significantly lower prices. But while the promise of savings is appealing, it raises a vital question: are Canadian pharmacies truly a safe and reliable way to access Ozempic? Exploring this option requires more than just comparing prices. It involves understanding how international pharmacies operate, what safeguards are in place, and how patients can protect themselves while ensuring they receive effective treatment. Why Canadian Pharmacies Appeal to U.S. Patients The high cost of prescription drugs in the United States is no secret. Medications like Ozempic can run hundreds of dollars each month, which adds up quickly for patients on long-term therapy. Canadian pharmacies, on the other hand, often advertise the same medications at a fraction of the cost. This price difference is not because the product is inferior, but rather because prescription drugs are regulated and priced differently in Canada. In Canada, the government has mechanisms that regulate medication costs, ensuring they remain more affordable. For U.S. patients, this creates a strong incentive to consider cross-border pharmacy options. Many individuals see it as a way to continue their prescribed treatment without compromising their financial well-being. Safety Considerations When Ordering Medication Abroad While Canadian pharmacies can provide legitimate and safe medications, not all online sources are created equal. The rise of internet-based pharmacies has made it easier than ever for counterfeit operations to appear trustworthy, leaving patients vulnerable to receiving substandard or even harmful products. Patients considering Canadian pharmacies should carefully evaluate the legitimacy of the provider. A safe and authentic pharmacy will always require a valid prescription from a licensed healthcare provider. If a website offers to sell Ozempic or any other prescription drug without one, it is a major red flag. Another important safeguard is accreditation. In Canada, licensed pharmacies often display approval from organizations like the Canadian International Pharmacy Association (CIPA). Verifying these accreditations can provide peace of mind that the pharmacy follows strict standards. Patients should also ensure the pharmacy provides clear contact information, including a physical address and a phone number where pharmacists can be reached for consultation. The Risk of Counterfeit Medications Counterfeit drugs are a global concern, and Ozempic is no exception. Fake medications may contain incorrect ingredients, improper dosages, or even harmful substances. Beyond the risk of side effects, counterfeit medications can be ineffective, leaving patients without proper blood sugar control. When considering Canadian pharmacies, patients should take proactive steps to protect themselves. Ordering only from well-reviewed, licensed pharmacies reduces the risk of counterfeits. Reading patient testimonials and checking regulatory databases can help confirm the authenticity of a pharmacy. The goal should always be to balance affordability with safety—saving money should not come at the cost of health. Image by DepositPhotos Exploring Discounts and Coupons as Alternatives Not everyone feels comfortable ordering prescriptions internationally, and for those who would rather stay within the U.S. healthcare system, other options exist. One practical approach is to look for manufacturer savings programs, discount cards, or pharmacy promotions. For example, an Ozempic coupon can help patients cut down on costs while still purchasing their medication from a trusted, local source. These savings tools are often overlooked but can provide meaningful relief. Depending on eligibility, some patients may receive significant discounts directly from the manufacturer, while others may find that coupon programs lower their out-of-pocket costs at local pharmacies. This can serve as a safe alternative for those who are hesitant about international orders but still need a way to manage expenses. How to Verify a Canadian Pharmacy For patients determined to explore Canadian pharmacies, a careful vetting process is essential. Start by confirming the pharmacy is licensed and regulated in Canada. Look for visible certifications such as CIPA membership or approval from PharmacyChecker, which monitors international pharmacies. Next, ensure that the pharmacy requires a valid prescription and that it offers access to licensed pharmacists for consultation. Transparent pricing and clear shipping policies are also indicators of a legitimate provider. If a deal seems too good to be true—for example, pricing that is dramatically lower than average market rates—it may be a sign of counterfeit risk. Finally, patients should use secure payment methods when making purchases online and monitor financial statements for any unusual activity. Being vigilant can protect not only personal health but also personal information. Conclusion The rising cost of medications like Ozempic places many patients in a difficult position, forcing them to weigh financial stability against consistent care. Canadian pharmacies offer one possible solution, but safety should always come first. Verifying legitimacy, avoiding counterfeit risks, and considering alternatives such as manufacturer discounts or coupons can empower patients to make confident decisions. Ultimately, whether through a licensed Canadian pharmacy or with the help of an Ozempic coupon, patients have options to make their treatment more affordable. The key is to approach these choices with careful research and a commitment to protecting one’s health. With the right precautions, it is possible to find both savings and security in the journey of diabetes care. By ML Staff. Images courtesy of DepositPhotos

- Two Champions Rally at Women's Net
PGA National’s Palmer course set the scene for this year's Women’s Net Championship. With undulating greens and tricky approach shots, this course provided a challenge for these ladies. After some delays and some showers, it was Ann Pohira-Vieth who would be victorious in the Middle Division, and Tiffany Benedetto would claim the title in the forward division Middle Division The leaderboard shuffled a whole lot throughout round one, but in the end Ann Pohira-Vieth would take the clear lead, shooting net two under par. The Winter Park native would string three net birdies together to take the lead over the second-place finisher, Peggy Butts. Butts would sit one back heading into the final round. Butts would be surprised by her finish, but solid and consistent play all around would be what placed her there. With one round to go, and the course to face more overnight rain, it was anyone’s game. As the weather loomed, the leaderboard began to shake with lots of players attempting to make a run at Ann Pohira-Vieth’s spot. Peggy Butts maintained composure and continued to trek on. Despite a two-hour delay, Pohira-Vieth would take the win for the middle division, carding net one under for the tournament. Peggy Butts would finish three strokes behind her and take third, and the winning slot in the middle first flight. Ann Pohira-Vieth is no stranger to winning a state championship; the 2001 Women’s Amateur Champion would step back into the winners' circle this week. Forward Division Defending Forward Division Champion, Rita West, would come back swinging after the short rain delay Saturday Morning. Her consistency would carry her to the top of the leaderboard, surpassing Tiffany Benedetto by one. Benedetto had held the lead for the majority of round one, carding an impressive net four over. Benedetto would sit one back heading into round two, with the rest of the leaderboard stacked up behind her. With the Sunday forecast looming, it could be anyone’s game. Rita West and Tiffany Benedetto would fight for the forward division all day. The spot would flip between the pair, but Benedetto would take the lead as the group went through the turn. After a passing thunderstorm spoiled the party, West would continue what she had done the day before and allow the break to serve as a reset. She would return to the course and fight back to the top of the leaderboard with Benedetto. The pair would finish tied for first place, with USGA Tie-Breaking, Benedetto would take the win in the forward division. This would be the ChampionsGate native’s first State Championship win. - Galán and Chingotto Get Better of Rivals Coello and Tapia for Düsseldorf P2 Title
Alejandro Galán and Fede Chingotto got the better of their big rivals Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia in the Premier Padel Düsseldorf P2 event on Sunday to bank the men's title at CASTELLO Düsseldorf as Gemma Triay Pons and Delfina Brea Senesi rattled off their eighth title as a pair. Here is all you need to know: Spaniard Galán and his Argentine partner Chingotto were 6-1 behind in the 2025 season head-to-head against the world number one pair Coello and Tapia, however they dug deep on Sunday in the first-set tiebreak to edge it then raced through the second set to seal the title 6-2 in just one hour and 38 minutes. Galán, 29, said: "You all know beating them is almost impossible. Since three years ago, they play really amazing. They are pushing us to keep improving and keep working. Now I can smile, I can laugh." Down the bottom of the draw, second seeds Galán and Chingotto only lost 14 games in blitzing their way through in straight sets which included a quarter-final win over fifth seeds Martín Di Nenno and Leandro Augsburger then a crushing semi-final win over fourth seeds Jorge Nieto and Miguel Yanguas. In the top half, Coello and Tapia had to dig a bit deeper to overcome eighth seeds Francisco Guerrero and Javier Leal 7-5 7-6 before normal service resumed in the last four when they took apart sixth seeds Jeronimo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz 6-1 6-3 to set up their eighth 2025 clash with Galán and Chingotto. Sunday's final was Coello and Tapia's ninth in a row since the Buenos Aires P1 event with Tapia battling Galán to become the active player with the most official professional titles across all competitions with both tied at 49 - Galán and Chingotto also eyeing their first title since the Italy Major in June. The first set was an intense affair as the pairs went back and forth before the second seeds held their nerve to win the tiebreak, then used their momentum to cruise through the second set to hand Galán his magic 50th title, their fifth title as a pair this season and 10th as a pair since they joined forces last year. Chingotto, 28, said: "Let me congratulate Agus, Arturo, Martin, they are an amazing team. They take us to the mental and physical limit. We keep working. This is only a small step." In the women's event, top seeds Triay and Brea only lost four games in reaching the semis where they needed to step up a level to defeat fifth seeds Marta Ortega Gallego and Tamara Icardo Alcorisa 6-4 7-5 who had seen off third seeds Bea González and Claudia Fernández Sánchez over three sets in the quarters. Down the bottom of the draw, second seeds Paula Josemaría Martín and Ariana Sánchez Fallada had to fight through three sets in the quarter-finals against sixth seeds Claudia Jensen and Alejandra Alonso De Villa then held off fourth seeds Sofia Araújo and Andrea Ustero Prieto 7-5 6-4 in the last four. After three hours and 20 minutes of action - the second longest in Premier Padel history behind the three hours and 22 minutes of the 2023 Madrid P1 final - Triay and Brea came through a classic 6-4 4-6 6-3 to claim their eighth title as a pair and leave Josemaría and Sánchez without a title since June. Triay, 33, said: "The final was amazing. We have to celebrate and tomorrow we'll think in Rotterdam." Brea, 25, added: "We put everything that we had today. - How Klaus Hegewisch Built One of the Finest Collections of Prints and Drawings in the World
It wasn’t the most likely route into art collecting, but it was certainly effective. In 1950, Klaus Hegewisch was a partner in a fruit and vegetable import business. He married his fiancée Helga that year, the daughter of a successful shipper who transported fruit from Latin America to Hamburg. Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), La Minotauromachie, 1935 . Etching and engraving with scraper. Plate: 49.5 x 69.2 cm (19⅓ x 27¼ in). Sheet: 57 x 77.6 cm (22½ x 30½ in). Estimate: £700,000-1,000,000. Offered in Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection, Part I on 16 October 2025 at Christie’s in London. © Succession Picasso/DACS, London 2025 The two men joined forces commercially, and Helga was tasked with giving the company’s cargo ships a fresher look — boasting as they did a number of additional cabins for passengers. The pair began visiting Hamburg’s art academy, the Landeskunstschule, where they befriended teachers and students, and purchased pictures for display on board. ‘My interest in art was thus awakened,’ said Hegewisch later in life, by which point he had put together a stunning collection of prints and drawings. Spanning several centuries, it features some of the most important graphic works by the likes of Dürer , Goya , Ensor and Munch , as well as the collector’s modern compatriots Max Beckmann and Otto Dix . The collection’s central figure is Picasso , who is represented by — among other pieces — a rare, early impression of his great etching Le repas frugal , a haunting image of an emaciated man and woman sitting in a tavern. Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), Le repas frugal, 1904 . Etching. Plate: 46 x 37.8 cm (18⅛ x 14⅞ in). Sheet: 58.3 x 43.9 cm (23 x 17¼ in). One of a few impressions printed before the plate was steel-faced. Estimate: £1,500,000-2,500,000. Offered in Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection, Part I on 16 October 2025 at Christie’s in London. © Succession Picasso/DACS, London 2025 Hegewisch’s collection is being offered at Christie’s across three sales with the collective title ‘Spellbound’. The first takes place on 16 October 2025 in London , with the others scheduled for March and September 2026. The title works on two levels. For one, it connotes that Hegewisch was enthralled by the art he collected. Second, it reflects the content of the imagery he was attracted to. ‘The mysterious and the dreamlike… interest me much more than unambiguous realism,’ he said. More on which below. Hegewisch was born in Hamburg in 1919. His mother and father separated when he was a child, and money was tight. Young Klaus joined the city’s oldest sailing club, sparking a love of the sea that would last his whole life. Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528), Saint Eustace, circa 1501 . Engraving. Sheet: 35.6 x 25.9 cm (14 x 10¼ in). Estimate: £80,000-120,000. Offered in Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection, Part I on 16 October 2025 at Christie’s in London Max Beckmann (1884-1950), Die Hölle, 1919 . The set of 11 lithographs. Images: 71.5 x 51 cm (28 x 20 in) (and smaller). Sheets: 87 x 62 cm (34¼ x 24½ in) (and similar). Overall: 100.5 x 71 cm (39¾ x 28 in) (portfolio). Estimate: £150,000-250,000. Offered in Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection, Part I on 16 October 2025 at Christie’s in London Drafted into the German navy at the start of the Second World War, he was soon promoted, and ultimately served as commander on patrol boats and minesweepers. As the conflict progressed, however, Hegewisch grew vocal in his doubts about the Nazi government — especially after bombing raids on Hamburg in 1943 left the city in ruins, and many of his friends and family bombed out or dead. He was interrogated more than once. Even after the war had ended, Hegewisch’s minesweeper continued its task of clearing shipping routes in Scandinavia. When it hit a mine and sank, he was one of only four crew members to survive. Things picked up for him in peacetime. The import business was thriving, and he and Helga had six children, built a modernist bungalow for themselves on the River Elbe, and befriended a host of figures who would influence the cultural and intellectual life of West Germany in the decades to come. (These included the literary critic Marcel Reich-Ranicki ; the founder of Der Spiegel news magazine, Rudolf Augstein; and the art theorist and Fluxus group member Bazon Brock.) Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn (1606-1669), The Three Trees, 1643 . Etching with engraving and drypoint. Plate: 21.3 x 28 cm (8½ x 11 in). Sheet: 21.4 x 28.2 cm (8½ x 11 in). Estimate: £200,000-300,000. Offered in Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection, Part I on 16 October 2025 at Christie’s in London In his early years as a collector, Hegewisch called upon friends for advice, such as the graphic artist Horst Janssen . Over time, he came to rely increasingly on his own judgement, taste and eye, but always enjoyed the exchange of ideas and knowledge, especially with his friends Werner Hofmann, then director of the Hamburger Kunsthalle, and the theatre director and cultural critic Ivan Nagel at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus. Highlight acquisitions included Rembrandt’s etching The Three Trees , depicting a Dutch landscape over which a summer storm is passing. In the fine tonal impression owned by Hegewisch, the effects of light and shade are captured in an atmospheric tour de force. Among other purchases was a richly inked impression of Picasso’s famous print La Minotauromachie , an allegorical self-portrait inspired by the Greek mythological figure of the Minotaur; and Dürer’s engraving Saint Eustace , where the subject kneels before a stag, between the antlers of which he has seen a vision of the crucified Christ. Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), Liegender Halbakt mit gespreizten Schenkeln, circa 1916-17 . Pencil on paper. 56.8 x 37.2 cm (22⅜ x 14⅝ in). Estimate: £120,000-180,000. Offered in Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection, Part I on 16 October 2025 at Christie’s in London Hegewisch was interested in the dreams, fantasies and fears that drive and torment us — and his art collection reflected that. Its images teem with mythical creatures: from Goya’s winged demons and Odilon Redon ’s chimera to Ensor’s vengeful skeletons and the strange homunculus in Munch’s lithograph Madonna . According to his children, collecting art was a way in which Hegewisch dealt with the trauma of his — and his country’s — wartime past: through artists who explored the depths and far reaches of the human soul. Like many Germans of his generation, the man himself rarely spoke of his wartime experiences. He did say, though, that the spellbinding aspect of his collection ‘only gradually became apparent’ (as opposed to having been planned). ‘In the course of engaging with individual artists, one… gains insight into the relationships that exist between them,’ he said. Edvard Munch (1863-1945), Madonna (Woman making Love), 1895 . Lithograph. Image: 59.8 x 44.3 cm (23 x 17½ in). Sheet: 62.9 x 46.3 cm (24¾ x 18¼ in). Estimate: £70,000-100,000. Offered in Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection, Part I on 16 October 2025 at Christie’s in London Hegewisch’s business did well right through until his retirement in 1986. By then, he and Helga had divorced, and he was married to his second wife, Erika, an artist. Like his personal life, Hegewisch’s art collection also underwent changes over the years. Initially, it had included a number of paintings — most notably Beckmann’s Carnival (today owned by the Tate), as well as The Poet Iwar von Lücken by Otto Dix (now in the Berlinische Galerie). From the 1980s onwards, however, Hegewisch, who had always felt drawn to the graphic arts, concentrated on works on paper and prints, with a few sculptures and West African works of art as exceptions to the rule. At first, his interest lay in art of the early 20th century. This later expanded to the 19th century and, finally, the Old Masters. The end result was one of the world’s most distinguished private collections of prints and drawings. In many instances, Hegewisch did not acquire works in isolation, but rather in view of their place within his broader collection. In Hegewisch’s Hamburg apartment, left to right: Fernand Léger (1881-1955), Les Maisons, 1922 . Pencil on paper. 32 x 25.5 cm (12⅝ x 10 in) (estimate: £50,000-80,000). Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), La Coiffure (Femme se coiffant), 1906 . Charcoal on paper. 31 x 22.7 cm (12¼ x 9 in) (£150,000-250,000). Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), Femme se coiffant . Bronze with dark brown patina. Height: 42 cm (16½ in). Conceived in 1906; cast in 1968 (£200,000-300,000). Fernand Léger (1881-1955), Le Fumeur, circa 1921 . Pencil on paper. 32 x 24.4 cm (12⅝ x 9⅝ in) (£180,000-250,000). Picasso produced both works in the same year, 1904. Elsewhere, a bronze sculpture by the Spaniard, Femme se coiffant , was displayed below La Coiffure (Femme se coiffant) , a charcoal drawing by him of the same subject: a woman combing her hair. Perhaps the most striking juxtaposition, however, was the hanging of Picasso’s Nez quart de Brie (a preparatory drawing for his landmark 1907 painting Les Demoiselles d’Avignon ) above a Dan-Guerzé mask from the Ivory Coast. The former depicts a stylised face, which exemplified the artist’s recent proto-Cubist shift away from naturalistic representation — a shift inspired in part by African masks akin to the one owned by Hegewisch. Both Nez quart de Brie and La Coiffure (Femme se coiffant) were formerly in the collection of Gertrude Stein . A Dan-Guerzé mask, Ivory Coast . Height: 29 cm (11½ in). Estimate: £3,000-5,000. On bright days, the curtains in his apartment were drawn shut to protect the many graphic works hanging on the walls from daylight. ‘Since I got together with my husband, my life has become much more shadowy,’ Erika quipped. Works were also regularly lent to exhibitions worldwide, and in 1997 a dedicated space called the Hegewisch-Kabinett was established at the Hamburger Kunsthalle . For the following two decades, this housed rotating exhibitions drawn from the collector’s holdings. Click here for the latest Christie's auctions. ML Staff. Content/image courtesy of Christies.
