- Meet the Entrepreneur Bringing a Piece of New York to South Florida
If you had told Dylan Levin ten years ago he'd own a bagel shop, he probably would've laughed. His background wasn't in restaurants. It was in finance, mergers and acquisitions, and operations. But after spending years helping analyze and grow other businesses, he knew he eventually wanted to build one of his own. That search ultimately led him to H&H Bagels. After spending nearly a decade in New York, Levin had become a loyal H&H customer. So when he unexpectedly spotted an H&H in Boca Raton, it caught his attention and sparked the idea that would eventually bring the iconic brand to Miami. "I wasn't looking for a restaurant,I was looking for the right business," Levin says. "I'd looked at everything. Then I saw H&H Bagels in Boca and thought, 'Wait...since when is H&H in Florida?' I looked into it, realized it was a franchise, and thought, 'This could actually be it.'" Around that same time, Levin and his wife moved to South Florida while expecting their first child. As they started their next chapter, he saw an opportunity to bring the New York bagel experience he loved to a city he felt was missing it. Today, H&H Bagels in Pinecrest has become a neighborhood favorite. "I don't just want to own a bagel shop," Levin says. "I want H&H Bagels to become part of people's routines. The place you take your kids before school, where teachers start their morning, where local schools and businesses order catering, and where families gather on weekends. If we can become part of this community, I'll consider that a success." He's already thinking about what's next. His goal is to grow H&H throughout Miami while never losing what made him fall in love with the brand in the first place. "Of course, I want people to know us for great bagels," Levin says. "But more than that, I want people to know us because we care about our customers. If we can become part of this community the way H&H Bagels became part of my life in New York, I'd consider that a pretty special accomplishment." To learn more visit www.hhbagels.com By ML staff. - Score Academy Opens New Private School Campus in Coconut Grove
Score Academy has opened a new private school campus in Coconut Grove and is now enrolling middle and high school students for the 2026-2027 school year. The campus brings the school's small-class, individualized model to Miami-Dade for the first time, with classes averaging around six students and total enrollment capped at approximately one hundred. The Coconut Grove campus is the newest location in a school that has operated in South Florida for more than four decades. The family behind Score Academy opened its first Florida learning center in 1980, serving students who needed more individual attention than a conventional classroom could provide. That work grew into an accredited Florida private school with campuses across Palm Beach and Broward counties and a record of graduates continuing to four-year colleges and universities. Score Academy serves students in grades 6 through 12. Some enroll full time and remain through graduation, while others attend for a single year to catch up, rebuild academic confidence, or move ahead. For each student, the school builds an individual schedule that can combine small-group classes, one-on-one instruction, online coursework, courses for credit, test preparation, tutoring and Honors and Advanced Placement options, with flexibility for students who have demanding commitments outside school. The model is designed for students whose needs do not fit a standard classroom, including families relocating to Miami from abroad, students who have struggled to settle in larger schools, and student-athletes and performers whose training and rehearsal schedules conflict with a fixed timetable. Because classes are small, a student can be challenged in one subject while receiving additional support in another. The Coconut Grove campus is led by Head of School Mike Rombola, who meets personally with prospective families to review each student's academic standing, discuss what they need, and determine whether the school is the right fit. The school's hundred-student cap is intentional and is not scheduled to increase. The campus is located near the Metrorail and The Underline, providing access for families across Miami-Dade by rail, bicycle, and the linear park trail. Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is open now and is limited by the campus cap. Families interested in a campus tour can schedule a visit by appointment. - GOLDLAW Secures $2.4 Million Jury Verdict for Client Who Suffered Traumatic Brain Injury After Fort Lauderdale Bar Incident
GOLDLAW Litigation Attorneys Timothy Kenison and Paul McBride secured a $2,406,202.40 jury verdict for client Billy Guinan, who sustained a traumatic brain injury after a bouncer forcibly removed and shoved him outside a Fort Lauderdale bar. Guinan, then 31, had been on a promotional stop for his employer, Boston Beer Co., in the Himmarshee Village bar district in Downtown Fort Lauderdale when a bouncer at Booze Garden removed him and shoved him past the threshold of the door at approximately 2:30 a.m. on November 6, 2021, causing his head to strike the concrete. He immediately reported having blurred vision, ringing in his ears, brain fog, and headaches. Guinan required nine staples to the top of his head and was immediately diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome, a subsequent diffuse tensor imaging scan confirmed a traumatic brain injury through an abnormality in the right frontal lobe. Surgery in 2024 resolved his double vision, though his tinnitus worsened. His treating neurologist, Carmen Ramirez, M.D., declared that the traumatic brain injury made Guinan more susceptible to dementia. The defense argued comparative negligence, citing Guinan's statements to paramedics and a hospital diagnosis of closed head injury. The jury found defendants 65% liable and Guinan 35% comparatively negligent, returning a total verdict of $2,406,202.40. GOLDLAW represented Guinan through trial, securing an outcome that reflects the severity of the injuries he sustained and the firm's commitment to pursuing accountability on behalf of injured clients. “This verdict represents much more than a number,” said Timothy Kenison, civil trial attorney at GOLDLAW. “It reflects that hard work, passion and faith in the judicial system can still result in justice for those who have had life-altering injuries and whose voices cannot easily be heard. Every case is unique, and every client deserves dedicated advocacy, compassion, and a team willing to fight for the justice they deserve. We at GOLDLAW are honored that our client trusted us to stand beside him every step of the way, and now that trust is blossoming into something more: a life-long friendship.” “After nearly five years, I’m incredibly grateful that the truth prevailed,” said Guinan “My legal team at GOLDLAW stood by me through every challenge, believed in me when others may not have, and fought relentlessly to make sure my voice was heard. I can never thank them enough for their dedication and friendship. I’m also deeply grateful to the jury for their thoughtful consideration. My hope is that this verdict reinforces the importance of accountability and helps make our community a little safer.”

- How Businesses Save Time with Automated Digital Signage Software
Businesses that rely on manual screen updates waste valuable hours that could go toward revenue-focused work. Retail stores, restaurants, and corporate offices all need fresh content on their screens without the hassle of constant manual effort. Automated software removes the burden of repetitive content tasks from busy teams. Reliable digital signage solutions let staff focus on customers and core operations instead of screen management. This article covers the top ways automation in digital signage saves real time for businesses every day. Image by DepositPhotos Automatic Updates Across Store Screens When a price changes or a product sells out, staff should not have to visit each screen one by one to fix the display. Automated software pushes that update to every connected screen at the same time. This is especially valuable for businesses with multiple departments or floor areas, where a single promotion must appear everywhere simultaneously. Teams save hours each week that would otherwise go toward walking around with a USB drive or laptop. Scheduled Content for Daily Promotions A schedule-based system allows teams to set up promotional content days or even weeks in advance. Staff can assign specific time slots for each promotion, and the software will publish and remove content at the exact moment required. This removes the need for anyone to be present at a screen to make a manual swap. Digital signage solutions give businesses a reliable way to automate time-sensitive promotions like lunch deals, happy hour specials, or weekend sales. Centralized Dashboard for Screen Control A centralized dashboard puts full control of every screen in one place, accessible from a computer or tablet. Managers can see which screens are live, what content is on each one, and whether any device has gone offline. This level of visibility removes guesswork and lets teams respond to screen issues within seconds rather than hours. Ready to Use Display Templates Most businesses do not have a full-time designer on call to create fresh screen content every week. Pre-built display templates solve that problem by giving teams a ready-made visual structure they can fill with their own text, images, or logos. These are the main reasons template libraries speed up daily screen work: Teams do not need design software or technical skills to create polished-looking screens. Templates are pre-sized for common screen ratios, so content always fits correctly. Color and font settings can be locked to match a brand, so every team member creates on-brand content. A library of saved templates lets staff reuse past layouts with minor edits instead of starting from scratch. Image by DepositPhotos Quick Media Upload for Marketing Teams Marketing teams produce a steady stream of photos, graphics, and videos that need to reach customers fast. A smooth media upload system lets staff drag and drop files directly into the content manager without any extra steps. The software accepts common file formats and auto-sizes assets to fit the target screen. Once a file is uploaded, teams can assign it to specific screens, set a display time, and it goes live with a few clicks. Fast upload tools eliminate the bottleneck that slows content from the creative desk to the customer-facing screen. Automation in screen management gives businesses a measurable edge in daily operations. Scheduled promotions, instant multi-screen updates, and fast media uploads all cut down the time staff spends on repetitive tasks. A centralized dashboard adds transparency and control that manual processes simply cannot match. The practical takeaway is this: businesses that set up automated content workflows from day one will free up significant team hours each month, reduce errors on screen, and keep customer-facing displays accurate and current without ongoing manual effort. - Underline Plinth Project: Four Artists Shortlisted for ‘Sculpting the American Story’
Friends of The Underline is pleased to announce the shortlisted artists for the first Underline Plinth project: Sculpting the American Story. The inaugural installation of a new biennial public art initiative will commission rotating sculptures and foster community dialogue through contemporary public art. The project was made possible through the support of the National Endowment for the Arts. Located in The Underline’s Inter Grove Gallery at 2771 SW 27th Ave, Miami Fl 33133, the Underline Plinth project will feature a newly commissioned sculpture by an American artist whose work reinterprets history and heritage in honor of America250, the national commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. The project invites artists to explore one of the defining questions of our nation: What does it mean to be an American today? Artists were encouraged to create a proposal for a sculptural work that celebrates the nation’s spirit, resilience, diversity, and impact while reflecting on the evolving American experience. Following a competitive selection process, four proposals are shortlisted: Carlos Betancourt and Alberto Latorre — A Forest for Many Robert Chambers — Growth Rings Morel Doucet — A Seat at The Table Kennedy Yanko — Still Becoming “This inaugural Underline Plinth project provides an opportunity to bring together art, history, and civic reflection in a public space that welcomes all,” said Debi Wechsler, UAAC Chair. “The shortlisted proposals offer compelling perspectives on identity, belonging, and the American story.” As part of The Underline’s commitment to artistic expression, civic engagement and public participation, final proposals will be shared later this year to invite community input as part of the selection process. The final artist selection will be made by The Underline Art Advisory Council (UAAC), which will consider artistic excellence, public input, and the project’s alignment with the goals of the America250 commemoration and The Underline’s public art program. The selected artist will create a signature public artwork that will serve as a focal point for community engagement and cultural dialogue, and is expected to be completed and installed by Spring 2027. - Historic Pan Am Headquarters at MIA Opens as Miami's New Luxury Private Terminal
One of Miami's most recognizable aviation landmarks begins a new chapter today. The former Pan American Airways headquarters at Miami International Airport (MIA) officially opens as a luxury private terminal for commercial travelers, combining the restoration of the historic 1960s building with a premium airport experience that allows guests to bypass the traditional airport terminal. The 34,000-square-foot facility marks the first Florida location for PS, whose private terminals serve commercial airline passengers. Miami becomes the company's fourth U.S. location, following the recent opening of Dallas Fort Worth. Housed inside the landmark Pan Am building, the project preserves a Miami-Dade County Historic Site while introducing a new approach to airport travel centered on privacy, efficiency, and personalized service. The company said Miami was a natural next step because of the city's position as the nation's second-busiest airport for international travelers and its role as a gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean. The setting also gives PS a landmark address, with the restored Pan Am building opening onto a central courtyard and reflecting pools that pay tribute to the property's aviation heritage. Inside, the terminal offers two distinct guest experiences. The Salon is an elevated lounge designed for solo and business travelers, while The Private Suites provide fully private, residential-style accommodations for guests seeking greater privacy and comfort before departure. Spa treatments are also available upon request. The experience is designed to minimize time spent inside the public airport. Guests move through dedicated private facilities with streamlined TSA screening before being chauffeured across the airfield in BMW vehicles to their aircraft. Chef-prepared dining and coordination between PS, airlines, and government agencies are also included. Later this year, the company plans to introduce PS Direct, providing integrated door-to-door transportation between travelers' homes or hotels and their flights. The Private Suites continue the residential approach with spacious living areas, curated interiors, and personalized hospitality designed to create a quiet retreat before departure. The restoration was led by RJ Heisenbottle Architects in collaboration with interior designer Cliff Fong. The project preserves the building's defining mid-century architecture while restoring original Pan Am features, including the airline insignias, gold paneling, and reflecting pools. New materials such as terrazzo, marble, smoked glass, and bold patterns draw inspiration from Miami while complementing the building's historic character. The design embraces the building's heritage while drawing inspiration from Miami's regional character. Original architectural elements are paired with a broad range of colors, textures, and individually designed Private Suites intended to create a memorable travel experience. The terminal also showcases work by local artists. Working with the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs' Art in Public Places program, PS commissioned Miami-based Argentine artist Nina Surel to create integrated reflecting pools and ceramic installations inspired by South Florida's natural landscape and layered cultural influences. The broader collection, curated by Creative Art Partners, includes works by Shaina McCoy, Neill Wright, Jaakko Pallasvuo, Holly Lowen, and other contemporary artists. A key part of the experience is the dedicated security process. Travelers complete TSA screening in a private facility before being escorted directly to their aircraft. The terminal also includes private Customs and Border Protection facilities that support the streamlined travel experience. PS now operates private terminals at Los Angeles International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, and Miami International Airport.
