Score Academy has opened a new private school campus in Coconut Grove and is now enrolling middle and high school students for the 2026-2027 school year. The campus brings the school's small-class, individualized model to Miami-Dade for the first time, with classes averaging around six students and total enrollment capped at approximately one hundred.
The Coconut Grove campus is the newest location in a school that has operated in South Florida for more than four decades. The family behind Score Academy opened its first Florida learning center in 1980, serving students who needed more individual attention than a conventional classroom could provide. That work grew into an accredited Florida private school with campuses across Palm Beach and Broward counties and a record of graduates continuing to four-year colleges and universities.
Score Academy serves students in grades 6 through 12. Some enroll full time and remain through graduation, while others attend for a single year to catch up, rebuild academic confidence, or move ahead. For each student, the school builds an individual schedule that can combine small-group classes, one-on-one instruction, online coursework, courses for credit, test preparation, tutoring and Honors and Advanced Placement options, with flexibility for students who have demanding commitments outside school.
The model is designed for students whose needs do not fit a standard classroom, including families relocating to Miami from abroad, students who have struggled to settle in larger schools, and student-athletes and performers whose training and rehearsal schedules conflict with a fixed timetable. Because classes are small, a student can be challenged in one subject while receiving additional support in another.
The Coconut Grove campus is led by Head of School Mike Rombola, who meets personally with prospective families to review each student's academic standing, discuss what they need, and determine whether the school is the right fit. The school's hundred-student cap is intentional and is not scheduled to increase.
The campus is located near the Metrorail and The Underline, providing access for families across Miami-Dade by rail, bicycle, and the linear park trail.
Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is open now and is limited by the campus cap. Families interested in a campus tour can schedule a visit by appointment.
