- Miami Open Partners Again with Fast-Dry Courts to Build Florida’s Largest Tennis Tournament
For the sixth year in a row, South Florida’s premier tennis court contractor will construct the courts played on by the world’s biggest tennis stars. Fast-Dry Courts, Inc., South Florida’s premier tennis court builder, is pleased to announce it has been selected again as the exclusive contractor for the tennis courts at the 2024 Miami Open taking place March 17 through 31 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Fast-Dry Courts, an ASBA Certified Tennis Court Builder, has been working with a 15-person crew to resurface 17 practice courts, 7 tournament courts, 2 grandstand courts at the 978,000-square-foot tennis facility. The company is also reconstructing the stadium court which is built inside of the 13,800-seat Hard Rock Stadium, overtop the Miami Dolphin’s football field. All of the construction and resurfacing is completed in 45 days. Maintaining the tennis facility and its court fencing is a year-round project since Hard Rock Stadium is the home to many other events such as Formula 1, Miami Dolphin’s Football games and the Rolling Loud concert series. Fast-Dry Courts has worked alongside Big D Paving and APT Laykold to complete the project. Project materials include more than 150 truckloads of rock, over 13,000 gallons of paint and many loads of asphalt. These materials play a big part in the construction of the custom built stadium court within Hard Rock Stadium. The stadium court is constructed of 10 separate layers with materials including limestone rock, asphalt, fiberglass membrane, vapor barriers, acrylic resurfacer and multiple coats of acrylic paint. “We are excited to be working with the Miami Open for the sixth year in a row for one of the biggest tennis events in the world,” said Trimmer Dettor, President of Fast-Dry Courts, Inc. “This exclusive opportunity to work with such a high-profile event is a significant honor for us as a company. Our mission and number one value is to deliver professional quality products that provide an elevated playing experience for these professional tennis players. We are excited to see our courts in action at this year’s tournament.” The renovated tennis venue offers 31,000 square feet of entertainment to the Hard Rock Stadium grounds including pop-up restaurants and nightlife, a 3,600-square-foot video display board (the largest video screen of any tennis event), and seats for spectators to watch the matches within beautifully landscaped courtyards, fountains and palm trees. This facility offers two full weeks of professional tennis with the iconic Miami vibe. For the past 43 years, Fast-Dry Courts has been South Florida’s premier Tennis and Pickleball court builder, with its portfolio including pro tournament contracts, luxury clubs and resorts, as well as private home builds for celebrities and high-profile, professional sports players. - Hard Rock Stadium's Safety Policy for Miami Open Attendees
If you're planning to attend this year's Miami Open, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with Hard Rock Stadium's entrance guidelines. Hard Rock Stadium has recently introduced a safety policy geared towards improving the efficiency and efficacy of our security protocols. This policy focuses primarily on the types and sizes of bags allowed inside the stadium, rather than the usual personal items brought by attendees. While guests are still permitted to carry essentials like keys, makeup, combs, phones, wallets, and credit cards, it's important to note the regulations regarding bags. For those interested, Miami Open-branded approved bags are available for purchase at our retail store located within Hard Rock Stadium, offering a convenient solution for compliance with our entrance guidelines. Here are the stadium-approved bags that fans may bring into the venue: One clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag not exceeding 12” by 6” by 12”, or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (such as Ziploc or similar). In addition to the clear bags mentioned above, fans may also carry a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap. Medically necessary items will be permitted after proper inspection at Gate E, designated for this purpose. Diapers and wipes may be carried in a clear bag. Each family member, including children, may carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse, providing ample storage capacity. Laptop bags and backpacks are allowed strictly for working purposes, exclusively for credentialed sponsors. Items such as smartphones, binoculars, and cameras will be permitted into the stadium. This policy aims to streamline the entry process while bolstering security measures. Enhanced Security Measures: For the safety and well-being of all attendees and participants, we have instituted updated Security Policies. Please cooperate with our mandatory screening process for all patrons, sponsors, volunteers, media, and vendors involved in the event. The following items are strictly prohibited: Drones Fireworks or pyrotechnics Open flames, including candles Illegal drugs Outside food and alcohol Weapons of any kind Bicycles, scooters, roller blades, skateboards Camera lenses exceeding 18” in length, tripods, or camera stands Selfie sticks Commercial video cameras or recording devices Laser pointing devices Aerosol cans or noise makers Animals, with the exception of certified service animals Any unauthorized advertising or promotional materials Please note that Miami Open Tennis management reserves the right to make the final determination on prohibited items. If any prohibited items are found during the screening process, guests will be kindly asked to either dispose of the items or return them to their vehicles before re-entering the tournament premises. Hard Rock Stadium Safety Protocols: Our paramount concern remains the health and safety of our guests, employees, and players. We are dedicated to adhering to ATP, WTA, and government guidelines, both nationally and locally. Hard Rock Stadium proudly maintains a GBAC STAR accreditation, signifying the gold standard in facility preparedness. This accreditation assures third-party validation that we uphold comprehensive cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention protocols. These measures are designed to mitigate risks associated with infectious agents such as SARS-CoV-2, responsible for COVID-19 disease, for the benefit of our employees, guests, community, and environment. For further insights into the GBAC STAR program and its advantages for our facility, staff, and guests, please visit: GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation. By ML Staff. Image by IMG/Miami Open

- Grand Brulot Coffee Cognac is Changing the Coffee Cocktail Game
Nothing feels as good as that first cup of coffee in the morning, except of course that pre-dinner espresso martini or that post-dinner Carajillo (more on that later). But what’s the one common denominator between all three of those drinks? Coffee. Now imagine, sipping on a recipe of coffee, mixed with cognac, that has a 200-year-old lore. So whether it’s an early morning ‘wake me up,’ an after-dinner ‘pick me up,’ or a digestif to enjoy as a dessert-like treat, coffee reigns king, especially when it comes to cocktails. Emerging from the pack for the last few years, the espresso martini continues to be one of the best-selling cocktails around the country. But despite their popularity, you know a good one when you taste it; not all coffee cocktails are made the same. Ingredient quality is paramount, and some of the world’s most renowned restaurants and bars have discovered the uniquely dry and smooth blend of Grand Brulot Coffee Cognac. If you’re paying $17 for a cocktail, you might want to think twice about what’s in it. Grand Brulot revives a 200-plus-year-old French tradition where coffee was blended with Cognac to create an exquisite-tasting drink: The Brulôt. The legend of Café Brûlot extends back to New Orleans in the early 1800s and the infamous French pirate Jean Lafitte who may or may not have created the first pairing of coffee and cognac. Enrooted in French lore, Grand Brulot can be enjoyed in a wide range of cocktails, or it can simply be served as a coffee shot or over ice with an orange peel. But you don’t have to travel to New Orleans or France - Grand Brulot combines the finest VSOP Cognac with rich Robusta coffee from Ecuador for a palate-pleasing blend that doesn’t overpower or underplay its two key ingredients and it’s all bottled up and served at some of the hottest locales on the globe. Whether it’s in the Espresso Martini, the Carajillo, or just neat, Grand Brulot is found at hotspots such as the 5 Hertford Club, Joe Robuchon Mayfair and Mr. Foggs in London, Mondaine de Pariso and CoCo in Paris, France; England; Dirty French, Le District, Bobby Vans and Peter Lugers in New York; Doma and Smith & Wollensky in Miami; The Little Nell in Aspen, to name a few. and beyond. Not an espresso martini girl or guy? 2024 could be poised to be the year of the Carajillo. Yelp reports that the Carajillo is the new coffee cocktail trend to watch, with searches for the energizing cocktail up 118%. The Spanish classic, which later rose to popularity in Mexico, is a lighter version of the better-known espresso martini. Like every good coffee cocktail, using the right ingredients is key to crafting the perfect recipe. Grand Brulot VSOP Coffee Cognac is the ultimate coffee liqueur to elevate this trending cocktail. Want to make them at home? We’ve got the recipes! GRAND BRULOT CARAJILLO Recipe: 1.5 oz Grand Brulot 1 shot of espresso 1.5 oz orange liqueur .5 oz vanilla syrup Orange twist Directions: Mix ingredients and shake together in a circular motion to create foam. Pour in a coupe glass and garnish with an orange twist. GRAND BRULOT ESPRESSO MARTINI 2 oz Grand Brulot 1 oz Espresso ½ oz of Amaretto or Vanilla Syrup Directions: Using a shaker, combine Grand Brulot, coffee and liqueur or vanilla syrup together. Shake (25 times) vigorously with ice and then strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a few cracked coffee beans and an orange twist. Pro Tip: The 25-time shake is what gets the perfect no-cream-needed froth! Interested in tasting yourself? Take a sip when you click here and make sure to follow Grand Brulot on Instagram. - The Growing Threat of AI-Generated Essays and Plagiarism: Challenges and Solutions
Education has always been a realm marked by innovation and progress, striving to adapt to the changing landscape of technology. In recent years, the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has sparked a revolution in various industries, including education. While AI holds great promise in streamlining processes and enhancing learning experiences, it has also brought about new challenges - particularly in the form of AI-generated essays and plagiarism. This article delves into the complexities of detecting AI-generated content and plagiarism, examining the challenges faced by educators and proposing solutions to mitigate these risks. Image by Matheus Bertelli Distinguishing Human-Written from AI-Generated Content One of the primary challenges faced by educators is the difficulty in distinguishing between human-written and AI-generated content. As AI technologies become increasingly sophisticated, they are capable of mimicking human writing styles and producing essays that are virtually indistinguishable from those created by students. This poses a significant challenge for educators tasked with evaluating the authenticity of student work. Lack of Resources and Expertise Another hurdle in detecting AI-generated essays and plagiarism is the lack of resources and expertise among educators. Many academic institutions do not have access to advanced plagiarism detection tools or the training necessary to effectively identify instances of AI-generated content. As a result, plagiarism detection efforts may be inadequate, leaving students vulnerable to the consequences of academic dishonesty. Increasing Sophistication of AI Tools The proliferation of AI tools and techniques used for plagiarism further complicates the detection process. From essay-generating algorithms to content-spinning software, students have a vast array of tools at their disposal to create plagiarized work. These technologies are continually evolving, making it challenging for educators to keep pace and effectively identify instances of plagiarism. Wide Availability of Online Sources In addition to AI-generated essays, the wide availability of online sources presents a significant challenge in detecting plagiarism. With the wealth of information accessible on the internet, students may be tempted to copy and paste content without proper attribution. This makes it difficult for educators to discern between original work and plagiarized material when assessing student submissions. Limited Time and Resources Educators often face constraints in terms of time and resources when it comes to checking for plagiarism. With heavy workloads and numerous responsibilities, it can be challenging for teachers to thoroughly examine every student assignment for signs of plagiarism.
