Five Iron Golf is making a major move into Florida, announcing plans to open 12 new locations in the state. The expansion, the company’s largest franchise agreement to date, is led by existing franchisees Peter McCormick and Alex Zega, who successfully operate the brand’s Louisville venue. The duo plans to launch their first Florida location in Miami by late 2025, followed by openings in major markets such as Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Fort Lauderdale. Smaller cities, including Boca Raton, Coconut Grove, and St. Petersburg, are also slated for development in the coming years. Each location features Trackman simulators, a lively sports bar, and flexible event spaces for casual and corporate gatherings alike. “Florida is the perfect market for Five Iron Golf,” said McCormick. “We’ve seen how this concept creates dynamic community hubs, and we’re excited to bring that energy to the Sunshine State.” Zega added that Florida’s diverse audience, from golf enthusiasts to social seekers, makes it an ideal location to expand the brand’s footprint and introduce its unique blend of sport and entertainment. - Miami Dolphins Announce Coaching Staff Additions
The Miami Dolphins have named Craig Aukerman special teams coordinator and Robert Prince wide receivers coach, the team announced Wednesday. Together they bring more than 60 years of coaching experience, including 35 years at the NFL level. About Craig Aukerman The 2025 season will mark Aukerman's 26th year in coaching, 16th in the NFL and seventh as a coordinator. He joins the Dolphins after serving as a special teams assistant with the Los Angeles Rams in 2024, where he helped the Rams to a 10-7 record, the NFC West division title and advance to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Before that, Aukerman spent seven seasons with the Tennessee Titans (2017-2023), serving five years as special teams coordinator (2019-2023) and two as a special teams assistant (2017-18). He helped the Titans reach the postseason in four of those seasons, winning two AFC South division titles, advancing to the AFC Championship in 2019 and securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC in 2021. During his time in Tennessee, Aukerman coached two Pro Bowl players in punter Brett Kern (2017-19) and long snapper Morgan Cox (2022). Kern led the NFL in both net punting average (44.6) and gross punting average (49.7) in 2017. His 44.6-yard net punting average ranked second in NFL history at the time. He also led the league with 52.7 percent of his punts (39 of 74) placed inside the 20 in 2018 and in 2019 led the NFL in punts inside the 20 (37). Kern led the league again in 2020 with 59.5 percent of his punts (22 of 37) inside the 20 and had the league's third-best ratio of punts inside the 20 to touchbacks (18:1) in 2021. Aukerman also helped kicker Nick Folk convert a league-leading 96.7 percent of his field goals in 2023, tied for the 13th-best single-season mark in NFL history. Meanwhile, punter Ryan Stonehouse posted back-to-back years with a league-leading gross punting average of 53.1 in 2022 and 2023. In 2021, Aukerman's kickoff coverage unit ranked eighth in the NFL, allowing an average of 20.3 yards per return, while wide receiver Chester Rogers ranked fifth in the NFL with a 9.8-yard punt return average. The Titans finished the 2019 season tied with New England for the most combined blocked kicks and punts with four, while ranking fourth in net punt average (43.1). Tennessee also had some of the least-penalized special teams units under Aukerman's watch, ranking second with just nine penalties in 2018 and tying for sixth with 14 infractions in 2019. Prior to his tenure with the Titans, Aukerman served as special teams coordinator for one season (2016) with the San Diego Chargers and three seasons (2013-15) as an assistant special teams coach. He also worked with the Jaguars (2011-12), first as a defensive assistant in 2011 and then as an assistant special teams coach in 2012. He first entered the NFL as a defensive assistant with Denver in 2010 after spending 10 years at the collegiate level at Kent State (2009), Miami (Ohio) (2005-08, 2001-02), Western Kentucky (2003-04) and University of Findlay (2000). Aukerman was a two-time NAIA All-American and two-time NAIA National Champion at the University of Findlay, where he played wide receiver and defensive back from 1995-98. He was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2013. About Robert Prince Prince boasts an impressive resume with 39 years of coaching experience, including 20 years in the NFL and 14 coaching wide receivers at the professional level. Throughout that time, he has coached several Pro Bowl players, including CeeDee Lamb (2022-24), Kenny Golladay (2019), Golden Tate (2014) and Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson (2014-15), among others. Prince spent the last three seasons as the wide receivers coach in Dallas (2022-24), where he helped Lamb reach the Pro Bowl each year. Lamb was among the top league receivers during his three seasons under Prince's guidance, but his best performance came in 2023 when he led NFL in receptions (135), ranked second in receiving yards (1,749) and was third in receiving touchdowns (12). Prince spent a season in Houston in the same capacity (2021) and seven years before that in Detroit (2014-20), where he worked with Johnson, Golladay and Tate. Golladay led the NFL in receiving touchdowns (11) and ranked seventh in receiving yards (1,190) in 2019. He became the first Lion with two 1,000-yard seasons in his first three years. Meanwhile in 2014, Johnson and Tate became the sixth duo in franchise history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. Prince's NFL resume also includes stops in Seattle as wide receivers coach (2009), Jacksonville as assistant wide receivers coach (2007-08) and Atlanta as an assistant quarterbacks coach (2006) and offensive assistant (2004-05). He also worked as an intern with San Francisco (2002, 2000) and the Chargers (2001). In addition to his various NFL stops, Prince has 17 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, where he has served in various capacities, as well as two years working in the X-League in Japan. He played wide receiver at San Bernardino Valley College (1983-84) and Humboldt State (1985-86). By ML Staff. Content/Image courtesy of Miami Dolphins

- The End of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Will Be a Loss for Many – Here’s How to Handle It, According to Experts and Fellow Fans
After 149 shows across 53 cities in 21 months, Taylor Swift’s Eras tour is finally coming to a close in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8 2024. The tour has become a staple of popular culture and a crucial part of the lives of fans worldwide. An estimated 11 million tickets have been sold with a projected revenue of over US$2 billion (£1.57 billion). Even more have tuned in through fan livestreams, listened outside venues, or seen the official tour movie in cinemas and at home. But all that is coming to an end. Having both been lucky enough to see Swift in action, we’ve been following the Eras closely as it draws to a close, enjoying all the online speculation in the build up to each night and the post-concert analysis of suprise bonuses . The end of the Eras tour is likely to come as a very real loss for many. A lot has happened in our lives and in the world since the tour began. People we love may no longer be alive. We may have finished education or started a new job. The Eras tour has also coincided with a tumultuous time internationally, spanning international elections, conflicts and economic crises. Throughout all this tumult, the tour has been a source of stability for fans, led by a highly professional performer and featuring a much-loved, largely unchanging 3.5 hour setlist (bar a few surprise songs, outfit changes, and dancer Kam’s solos and ad lib contributions ). It’s important not to minimise sadness that can come from such an ending. Although theories about grief and bereavement have come from a desire to understand the impact of human death on those left behind, there is a growing body of research that recognises and explores the wider losses that one can experience over a lifetime. This can include the loss of relationships, communities, sense of security and even the environment. What is important when facing such losses is to, as grief expert David Kessler argues , find the meaning in that sense of loss. Between us we have expertise in identity, events and the study of grief. We are also Swifties who are genuinely sad at the end of the tour. So as a way of dealing with our sense of loss, and helping you to do the same, we came together to suggest four ways you can cope with the end of the tour based on research. 1. Be kind to yourself First, you’re not alone in your mourning. This may have been your first time seeing a live gig, and the tour could have been a “ transformative experience ” that helped you feel more connected to others. Allow yourself the time and space to reflect and grieve this loss. Feel those emotions and find safe ways to express your feelings with others. Use this time to develop new rituals and routines that can bring you joy. Finding something you can look forward to is an important coping mechanism, so use this moment to plan ahead and be kind to yourself. 2. Make the friendship bracelets Memorials are an important way for us to process grief and share it with others . To cope with the end of the tour, you may find comfort in physical reminders, such as buying merchandise or making friendship bracelets, which were a key feature of the tour. Swifties at the Era’s tour showing off their braclets. Andy Rain/EPA However, do beware: when grieving, your emotions may get the best of you and you may make snap purchases you later regret . Consider what (if anything) you would like to buy and plan ahead , so last-minute expensive merch drops don’t get you and your bank account. 3. Find your tribe Grieving for the end of the Eras is as much about the tour as it is belonging to something. Swift has done something extraordinary in an age of populism and division, by bringing people of all backgrounds together – particularly online. Annayah’s research shows that “identity-centring events” like this can be powerful for connecting us to others and promoting social action when the outside world appears bleak. It is entirely normal to feel a sense of loss for that sense of acceptance. If that’s the case for you, then we suggest finding alternative ways to maintain that sense of community and inclusion, be it through Swift-themed classes, watch parties and so on. You may even wish to use this time to connect with other groups, hobbies and passions. Is there something you could do with others to fill the gap of the Eras tour? 4. Moving on If you’re reading this article you will probably already be hypothesising what comes next for Swift. A making-of documentary? Debutation (the re-recording and amalgamation of two albums that she does not own the original rights to) Taylor’s Version? A new album? A residency in Las Vegas? Swift is an empire and, at nearly 35, the world is at her feet with regards to what comes next. So, while you may be sad that something huge is ending, it is OK to oscillate and invest (and enjoy) the excitement of what comes next from your favourite artist. One thing is for sure, she’s not done yet. By ML Staff. Image Courtesy of Annayah Prosser , Kate Woodthorpe
