- 5 Chic Ways to Celebrate Milestones in Miami
Miami is a world-famous celebration spot, perfect for hosting nonprofit galas, career achievements, and personal milestones. Its tropical luxury aesthetic pairs beautifully with bold, contemporary art, rooftop ambiance, yacht parties, exclusive restaurants, and hotel ballrooms. With the right themes and programming, these venue ideas can turn a genuine act of recognition into a lasting memory and marketing opportunity. 1. Museums and Art Galleries Miami's museums and city art galleries turn annual corporate awards events into true cultural experiences. These venues provide a unique, vibrant backdrop for celebrating an executive promotion, honoring a dedicated sales team, or throwing a retirement party for a beloved employee. In addition to creative catering inspired by contemporary art, corporate event planners can work with an awards supplier to craft personalized crystal plaques with engraving for each honoree. Engraving ideas could include symbols representing the recipient's department, brand logos, and brief descriptions of accomplishments or lifetime achievements. Awards crafted in jeweled shapes, cubes, and obelisks also complement the aesthetic of modern art. 2. Rooftop Celebrations Custom crystal awards catch the twinkling lights of rooftop celebrations. They also match the tone of popping champagne, casual keynote speeches, and upscale swag bags. The casual yet chic atmosphere of this venue is ideal for introducing a new CEO to a fun, high-performing corporate culture. Perfect for photo ops, event planners can hire professional photographers to document rooftop soirees for social media, capturing the moment a top sales team is honored with company awards, personalized wine bottles, and exclusive vacation packages. Event media can then be used in employer branding campaigns to attract top talent. 3. Daytime Yacht Parties Imagine a brand launch setting sail on a luxury yacht after a round of venture capital funding. Miami is home to a vibrant yacht culture. For a new startup, a yacht party symbolizes big ambitions and what's to come. This startup stage is all about rapid growth. Yachts can be used to honor rockstar sales executives and teams for landing major accounts at industry tradeshows. To complement the yacht aesthetic, event planners can work with sales leaders to customize crystal awards shaped like waves with blue accents. These details pair perfectly with chic nautical themes and sophisticated seafood menus. 4. Exclusive Restaurant Experiences Similarly, private events held at Miami's hottest Michelin Star restaurants signal luxury and reward, inspiring rising corporate talent to keep striving for more. Event planners can incorporate crystal awards into table centerpieces, encouraging company honorees to keep their eyes on the prize. A private event at a restaurant is also a wonderful venue for celebrating a hard-earned retirement, complete with a keynote speech to impart wisdom to new employees. 5. Hotel Ballrooms Miami's renowned ballrooms at the Four Seasons and Miami Beach Hotel are ideal for formal events, nonprofit donor galas, and charity balls. Catering teams can set up long tables with sophisticated crystal punch bowls, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, and glasses of champagne, with raised tables showcasing the engraved crystal awards to be handed out during the ceremony. Honor Achievements in Style Incorporate the magic of Miami into your next promotion party or nonprofit gala. Consider the city's art spaces, elegant rooftops, yachts, top restaurants, and hotel ballrooms as potential venues. Discover more ways to infuse your events with the art and culture of the city! - $51.5 Million Waterfront Sale Sets New Record on Miami Beach's Hibiscus and Palm Islands
A waterfront estate at 270 S. Hibiscus Drive has sold for $51.5 million, setting new records for both sale price and price per square foot on Miami Beach's guard-gated Hibiscus and Palm Islands. The transaction surpassed the previous record sale of approximately $40 million, despite that property encompassing a larger residence on a larger lot. Denis Smykalov, broker and founder of Wolsen Real Estate, represented the seller in the transaction. "This sale reflects where Miami Beach's luxury market is today," said Smykalov. "Buyers continue to recognize the value of exceptional design, craftsmanship and waterfront locations. Properties of this caliber rarely become available, and demand remains strong when they do." The property, which was recently completed, is coming to market for the first time since the seller acquired it as an unfinished shell in 2021. Rather than simply complete the original plans, the residence was reimagined through a joint venture led by Luis Bosch, founder of Luis Bosch Luxury Homes, who oversaw the home's redesign and construction. The estate combines two waterfront lots totaling approximately 21,000 square feet, with 120 feet of water frontage, and offers more than 10,000 square feet of living space. The residence includes five bedrooms, a maid's quarters, six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a private office and a fitness center. Additionally, it is one of the few homes in Miami Beach that features two private docks. The docks are capable of accommodating a yacht measuring up to approximately 105 feet. One of the home's defining features is a fully soundproof private nightclub with its own private entrance, allowing it to function independently from the main residence. Designed for entertaining, the space includes professional nightclub lighting, laser effects, disco balls and a dedicated air conditioning system. An oversized pool cabana bathroom with two toilets was also designed to accommodate large gatherings. Originally designed by a local architect, the residence was later reimagined by SAOTA, the internationally acclaimed South African architecture firm formerly known as Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects, with interiors by fellow South African design firm ARRCC and landscape architecture by renowned landscape architect Raymond Jungles. Bosch, who has spent more than 20 years building luxury waterfront residences throughout Miami Beach, assembled a team of architects, designers and craftsmen to execute the project. "Our goal was to create a home that would stand the test of time," said Bosch. "Every finish, every material and every design decision was carefully considered. We focused on quality at every stage of construction to create a residence that feels as exceptional today as it will decades from now." Craftsmanship is evident throughout the residence. Walls are wrapped in custom millwork incorporating multiple exotic wood species, while the kitchen features handcrafted cabinetry by Bon Vivant Custom Woodworking, a South Florida company specializing in custom architectural millwork since 1981. The home also features Bronze Armani stone, shellstone and multiple varieties of natural marble throughout. Hand-selected travertine was sourced from Rome specifically for the project, while the infinity-edge pool is finished with Bali stone imported from Indonesia. A custom powder-coated steel and aluminum exoskeleton further distinguishes the home's engineering and construction. Other notable features include a full-size Ferrari Testarossa replica suspended in the main living area as a sculptural centerpiece. The record-setting sale reflects the strong demand for newly completed waterfront residences on Hibiscus and Palm islands, where limited inventory and architecturally significant homes continue to command premium values. - Dining Above Rome: Hotel Eden’s Rooftop Restaurants
Hotel Eden, near the Spanish Steps, is home to two rooftop restaurants with spectacular views of Rome that are worth experiencing. At Il Giardino Ristorante, where I dined, I enjoyed Italian cuisine and a sunset over the Eternal City, making for a memorable dinner. Hotel Eden first opened its doors in 1889, when hotelier Francesco Nistelweck transformed an existing mansion into a luxury hotel with 63 rooms. As Rome grew into an international destination, the hotel attracted travelers looking for a refined stay in the heart of the city. Its location near the Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese placed it within easy reach of many of Rome's most celebrated sights, while its reputation for elegant hospitality continued to grow. In 1902, another floor was added to the hotel, along with the terrace that would eventually become one of its most distinctive features. The terrace was originally far less glamorous than it is today: it was used to hang sheets, towels and the hotel's embroidered tablecloths. Over the decades, Hotel Eden became a favorite among prominent visitors, including royalty, artists and international figures. The property today is part of Dorchester Collection and combines its historic Roman character with contemporary luxury. Two Restaurants Above the City The hotel's top floor is home to two distinct dining experiences: La Terrazza and Il Giardino Ristorante. Both offer spectacular views of Rome, but the atmosphere and culinary approach are quite different. La Terrazza is the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant, led by Executive Chef Salvatore Bianco. Awarded its first Michelin star in 2025, the restaurant takes a sophisticated, creative approach to Italian cuisine, with tasting menus built around unexpected combinations, seasonal ingredients and modern techniques. Chef Salvatore Bianco, Photo/Hotel Eden Il Giardino Ristorante, where I dined, is more relaxed while maintaining the elegance you would expect from Hotel Eden. Its menu celebrates Italian cooking with a contemporary Mediterranean influence, including pasta, seafood, meat, pizza and focaccia. It is also the restaurant where the panoramic setting becomes particularly important. Located on the sixth floor, the restaurant has sweeping views across Rome, making the city almost another course. Dinner with a Roman Sunset If you are planning to dine at Il Giardino Ristorante, time your reservation for sunset. I was there in June, when the evenings are long, and watching the sun go down over Rome while having dinner was spectacular. As the light changed, the city's rooftops, domes and historic buildings took on different shades, creating a constantly changing backdrop throughout the meal. In a way, the shifting sunset light and spectacular views paired beautifully with the food, much like a well-chosen wine. For the best experience, check the sunset time for the date of your visit and book your table accordingly. I recommend arriving slightly before sunset so you can enjoy the transition from daylight into Rome's evening glow. Dinner at Il Giardino The menu at Il Giardino Ristorante is served for both lunch and dinner, offering plenty of flexibility depending on your plans in Rome. The cuisine combines Italian tradition with contemporary Mediterranean influences, while emphasizing seasonal ingredients and local flavors. I started with two dishes that particularly stood out. The Aubergine Parmigiana is an Italian classic and one of my favorites. I also loved the Red Prawns Carpaccio with citrus fruit, a lighter and more delicate starter. For my main course, I chose the Spaghetti “Caramella” with tomato sauce. The dish is a great example of how a familiar Italian staple can be transformed through technique and presentation while keeping the tomato at the center. I also had the catch of the day, served with Swiss chard with lemon and roasted potatoes. There are plenty of other dishes worth considering. The mixed pasta with mussels and yellow cherry tomatoes combines seafood with the sweetness of tomatoes, while the selection of pizzas and focaccias offers a more casual alternative. Good to Know Il Giardino Ristorante doesn't feel overly formal. You can enjoy beautifully prepared Italian food while taking your time, having a glass of wine and enjoying the beautiful view. Request a table with a view and make your reservation around sunset. In June, the timing can make the difference between simply having dinner in Rome and watching Rome put on a show while you eat.
