  • Final Performances of The Zionists Run Through May 10 at The Colony Theatre

The world premiere production of The Zionists is entering its final week at Miami New Drama’s Colony Theatre, with performances scheduled through Sunday, May 10. The play follows a prominent Jewish family fractured by the politics and aftermath of October 7 as they reunite at a luxury Caribbean resort. When a hurricane approaches, long-standing tensions erupt and family members confront old wounds, clashing values, and questions about whether their ties can withstand an increasingly divided world. Written by playwright S. Asher Gelman, The Zionists has been described by local outlets as powerful and timely, highlighting family dynamics shaped by identity, politics, and history. Audiences can purchase tickets online and may also reserve a pre-show three-course menu at nearby Issabella’s, available before evening and matinee performances. By ML. Photo(s)/Miami New Drama

  • Rosalee Mayeux: Healing through Laughter

In this exclusive interview with Miami Living Magazine , Rosalee Mayeux – former high-fashion model turned stand-up comedian and actress – opens up about a life defined by unexpected turns, resilience, and reinvention. From runways in New York and Paris to stages across the country, her journey took a profound shift following a life-altering cancer diagnosis that ultimately led her to comedy and the transformative power of laughter. Now, with the release of her new comedy special Rosalee Mayeux: Model Mom , she brings her signature warmth and wit to stories of motherhood, healing, and finding humor in life’s most unpredictable moments. As she continues to connect with audiences nationwide and prepares for her upcoming film Love at First Spite , Mayeux reflects on laughter as both a lifeline and a calling – and the beauty of embracing every chapter along the way. Miami Living (ML): Your journey from high-fashion model to stand-up comedian is anything but conventional. When you look back, does it feel like a complete reinvention, or was there always a part of you that was meant for comedy?   Rosalee: I love this question. Yes, behind everything, I was always a comedian. Even in the high-fashion world, sometimes a director would pull me aside and ask if I wanted to be in his next comedy short, lol. They could always spot it.   ML: You’ve spoken about how a life-altering cancer diagnosis became a turning point that led you into stand-up. How did humor become a source of healing during such a profound and difficult chapter?   Rosalee: Well, at first I did try to be cheerful, make some jokey spoof videos about the Big C, but I found them largely unsatisfying, and was really just shaking my fist at the sky at my diagnosis. What really got me out of despair and back into the land of the living was the friends who came forward. First, three girlfriends fought tooth and nail to research a cutting-edge medical breakthrough that would end up saving my life. You really do need an advocate when you're going through a horrid medical diagnosis.   Then, an actress friend said come do improv with her - get some laugh therapy. It was fun, and I met incredible performers, but I knew it wasn't enough. Finally, at two a.m. one night in my kitchen, a comedy buddy said, "You're miserable because you belong out there with me, doing stand-up." I thought he was nuts. I couldn't even physically stand up at the time, lol. But he insisted and signed me up. I started telling things from my own crazy experiences and my take on life. And that became the beginning of a new world for me, with a microphone, in a dark club or bar or living room -  wherever they had a mic. It was powerful. Working hard as hell to win 10 people over? Yep. After so many years portraying characters' words in film and TV, and years being silent as a model, I fell in love with letting that goofy voice inside come out. From deep inside, where the magic you've known since you were five years old lives.   ML: Your new special "Rosalee Mayeux: Model Mom" feels both deeply personal and universally relatable. What inspired you to center it around motherhood, and what stories felt most important to share right now?   Rosalee: After all my two boys and I had been through together, raising them as a single parent, the cancer years, the struggles when we fought and came out on the other side, I felt I wanted to write my kids a love letter. That's what Model Mom is. A love letter to my kids.   I also wanted to have all the first years of comedy writing on tape for posterity. Even though you're out every night, you rarely get a watchable tape of your early years. They don't let you tape in most clubs. And I had never recorded the short story "Coyote Nights" that won the Columbine Award. Model Mom was the first time I put it all together, so I could never forget that time in our lives. ML: Parenting teenage boys in today’s world is no small feat, and you bring so much humor to it. What have your sons taught you about life that maybe you didn’t expect? Rosalee: Oh my gosh, they are so much funnier than I am! I mean, if you want to laugh, just have a barbecue in your backyard and put a bunch of teenagers in charge. You will starve, but you will laugh. I think one thing I never knew about parenting is that your kids actually do forgive you. Mine forgave all the well-intentioned stupid things I did raising them. I even lost the dog. They never blamed me.   ML: Before comedy, you had a remarkable career in fashion, working with major brands and living between New York and Paris. How did that chapter of your life shape the confidence – or perhaps the perspective – you bring to the stage today?   Rosalee: I was super rough-hewn and had a hard time fitting into the model world that my looks have given me entry to. I truly was a duckling, awkward, unsure, in my red plastic cowboy boots. Looking back on those years, I realize it was teaching me to learn to trust myself, trust that I know what I like and what I don't like, and to discard what isn't mine. It gave me the opportunity to keep my eye on what's important, even though I definitely wasn't able to express that yet. ML: How would you describe your own comedic voice, and what do you hope audiences feel when they leave one of your shows?   Rosalee: Finding yourself, your voice, is quite a journey, no matter what artistic discipline you work in. Your voice emerges. For instance, I always thought it was a secret that I like to experiment with accents, roll them around in my mouth, and try them out. I found in my modeling years I could imitate any language well enough to give directions to a taxi driver, or film a commercial, pretending I understood what I was saying. I thought that was hysterical. I also lean toward talking in impossible run-on-sentences, because I'm  Southern. But all these things were gifts I didn't know I could use. I thought they were just quirks I had to hide as a model or an actress. I didn't know these "quirks" would become my strengths in comedy. In fact, all the things that totally embarrassed me about myself as a young'un are now my friends. Laughing at ourselves is a sign of mental health. After all is said and done, we're all gonna be okay. 'Cause we can laugh together. ML: Between performing, writing, motherhood, and everything in between, your life sounds beautifully full. In the quieter moments – when you’re not on stage – what brings you the most joy or sense of peace these days?   Rosalee: Plotting world domination through comedy, of course, ha! My grandfather was a rice farmer, and he'd say, "a day with your hands in the dirt is a day closer to God". I find that to be true. Quiet time, my feet in the dirt, watching the hummingbirds in the plum tree I planted when I moved here. I find that delicious.   My most satisfying moments are definitely spent with my grown children, laughing uncontrollably at whatever. One evening, we were walking in the SF Botanical Gardens, and we couldn't find the exit, nor a bathroom, which I desperately needed. I told my oldest son I was going to wet my pants if we didn't get out of there, and we started laughing so hard we fell down an embankment. That. That brings me all the joy. Thanks for having me! • Florida Fails to Ban Sweepstakes Casinos As Sites Remain Legal in the State

Popular sweepstakes casinos will be allowed to continue operating in Florida, at least for now. The state’s recent 2026 legislative session concluded by failing to pass multiple bills that would have introduced fresh illegal gambling legislation. It’s great news for sweepstakes operators like Stake.us and Luckyland Slots, which will remain legal and face no new restrictions. Florida’s Illegal Gambling Bills Would Have Cracked Down on Dual-Currency Sweepstakes Casinos On March 13, Florida’s session officially ended without any of its proposed gambling bills making it into law. These bills targeted illegal and offshore gambling sites, unlicensed gaming machines, and sweepstakes casinos. Despite not addressing sweepstakes casinos directly, provisions in HB 189 and HB 591 addressed prize-winning gaming systems and mechanisms resembling the dual-currency model used by sweepstakes casinos. Had the bills successfully passed, they almost certainly would have brought sweepstakes casinos crashing down throughout Florida, or resulted in operators pulling out.  However, the outcome last month means that sweepstakes casinos, including leading names like Chumba Casino and WOW Vegas, will now be free to continue operating throughout Florida and the majority of other states in the US. Reports note that lawmakers still managed to advance multiple enforcement-focused gambling bills during the session, though, meaning the policy direction is intact. It’s not yet known whether additional attempts will be made next year to crack down on illegal gambling sites and sweepstakes casinos in Florida, but the past session indicates this likely won’t be the end. This is especially true when taking into account that a growing number of states throughout the US are currently in the process of banning sweepstakes casinos, which has been happening since early last year. New York, California, and Other States Have Banned Sweepstakes Casinos The past twelve months have seen seven states successfully pass anti-sweepstakes casino bills into law, while others have attempted to. New York and California are the biggest states to have issued bans so far, causing significant revenue hits and player drops for existing sweepstakes operators. And in 2026, Indiana and Maine have already passed their respective HB 1052 and LD 2007 bills into law, making them the first of the year to do so. Maryland and Oklahoma are currently advancing bills through the legislative process to have sweepstakes casinos banned. Several sweepstakes operators, including VGW and A1 Development, have also started withdrawing or reducing access to their sweepstakes casinos in Tennessee following extreme regulatory pressure, as it now appears as though The Volunteer State will be the next to enact an official ban.  Fans of Global Poker, Chumba Casino, RealPrize, and Stake.us won’t be happy about this, as it means accessing sweepstakes casinos within Tennessee will soon be almost impossible. If current trends persist, it could reach a point before the end of the year where sweepstakes casinos are banned or restricted in a growing minority of states, causing significant damage to what was once a thriving iGaming vertical. Sweepstakes Casinos Offer a ‘Freemium’ Experience for Players In the US, sweepstakes casinos have been rapidly growing in popularity as far back as the COVID-19 pandemic, which is when this new type of casino first exploded. Since then, leading sites like WOW Vegas and Chumba Casino have garnered millions of users, while also becoming extremely popular among Kick and Twitch gambling streamers. Even the rap legend Drake has got involved, with Stake reportedly paying him as much as $100 million a year just to promote the Stake.us casino across his social media. The main selling point of these casinos is that they offer a free-to-play experience, with sweepstakes casino no deposit bonus offers being especially popular among players. Those who create accounts effectively get to play hundreds of casino-style games for free and it’s even possible for them to redeem prizes if they collect enough of the virtual ‘Sweeps Coins’. In response, states like Florida have taken the stance that these types of gaming sites are using dual-currency virtual coin business models to skate around gambling laws, which is why so many anti-sweepstakes casino bills have been passed recently. The SGLA , represented by sweepstakes operators like VGW, argues that sweepstakes casinos are safe, player-friendly alternatives to regular online casinos, but a fast-growing number of states are in disagreement. It’s certainly true that these sites let you play for free if you wish to, but there’s also an option to purchase Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins packages for real money, something that could be viewed as a type of gambling. Several lawsuits filed by players have even started popping up over the past year, alleging that the sweepstakes casinos have taken money from them via coin purchases. What’s Next for Sweepstakes Casinos in Florida? Florida appears to be taking a hard stance against all types of unregulated gambling and gambling advertisements, so it’s unlikely that this will be the end of its attempts to ban sweepstakes casinos. Lawmakers will almost certainly look to introduce similar legislation in 2027, and it’s even possible that sweepstakes operators will opt to withdraw their casinos from the state before then if existing pressures continue. As for other states, sweepstakes casinos will continue operating as usual, although their player counts and revenue levels are going to take a dip following recent state bans. They will, of course, be able to maintain their Florida player base for now, but it could change at any moment. By ML Staff. Images courtesy of Pexels.

  • From Material Research to Timeless Design: The Story and Philosophy of Henge

Introducing Henge, an Italian luxury design brand founded in 2011 by Paolo Tormena and architect Isabella Genovese. Conceived as a creative laboratory rather than a conventional furniture company, Henge has built its identity on material research, craftsmanship, and a radical approach to form. And you can now experience Henge firsthand in the Miami Design District, where the brand continues to engage with the global design community. At the heart of Henge is Paolo Tormena’s vision. Born in Valdobbiadene and shaped by years within the Made in Italy furniture industry, Tormena refined his sensibility through close collaboration with designers, architects, and master craftsmen. For him, material research is not a stage of design but its origin. Constant travel to places of inspiration around the world allows him to study raw materials in their native contexts, leading to the rediscovery and revitalization of local workshops and artisanal ateliers. These practices preserve rare skills while translating them into a contemporary design language. Creative Collaborations Alongside Paolo Tormena, Isabella Genovese plays a defining role in shaping Henge’s identity. A graduate of IUAV University of Venice with experience in hospitality, retail, and exhibition design, she brings together creativity, functionality, and a timeless sensibility, contributing to product development while directing institutional spaces and international presentations with rigorous attention to detail. Henge’s evolution has also been shaped by long-standing collaborations with internationally renowned creatives, most notably architect Massimo Castagna, whose work has defined the brand’s architectural clarity and sculptural strength. Partnerships with studios such as Yabu Pushelberg and designers like Ugo Cacciatori have further strengthened Henge’s global creative network, while the 2025 Collection introduced new perspectives through collaborations with Turkish designer Tanju Özelgin and American designer Johanna Grawunder, exploring minimalism, light, color, and spatial emotion. Material Philosophy Henge’s design language is defined by bold, linear gestures and a strong sculptural presence, with each piece conceived as a statement within its environment that balances refinement and strength while resisting the ephemerality of fashion. Furniture is approached not as an object, but as a presence that enters daily life, evolves through use, and acquires a unique patina shaped by time and experience. Material research remains central to this philosophy: Henge selects exceptional materials from across the world for their expressive power, natural qualities, and intrinsic histories. Woods, stones, metals, glass, leathers, and textiles from diverse landscapes and cultures are brought together through artisanal processes rooted in the finest Italian traditions. At the core of this Made in Italy ethos are small ateliers where knowledge is passed down through generations and elevated through collaboration with designers, engineers, and material researchers who challenge tradition while respecting its origins. Global Presence Today, Henge operates in over 70 countries and continues to strengthen its global presence. Key milestones include its flagship on Via della Spiga in Milan, a 600-square-metre flagship in Chelsea, London, opened during the London Design Festival, and its U.S. showroom in the Miami Design District. In 2025, the brand opened a flagship in Dubai on Jumeira Street overlooking the Burj Al Arab, conceived as an immersive, monobrand living experience. Looking ahead, a new showroom will open in Venice by autumn 2026, housed within a historic palazzo. • Henge Miami Design District: Inside the Horizon Penthouse Frankfurt by PURPUR Interior Concepts

For this edition of Miami Living, we bring you a residential project featuring Henge, an Italian luxury design brand founded in 2011 by Paolo Tormena and architect Isabella Genovese. Conceived as a creative laboratory rather than a conventional furniture company, Henge has built its identity on material research, craftsmanship, and a radical approach to form. You can now experience Henge firsthand in the Miami Design District, where the brand continues to engage with the global design community. Horizon Penthouse FrankfurtThe residence was designed and realised by Maud Winkler and Nadia Houati of PURPUR Interior Concepts in Frankfurt. Their approach combines architectural clarity with sensitivity to materials and atmosphere, creating interiors that feel structured. The project is an urban apartment overlooking the skyline of Frankfurt. Two neighbouring units were combined into one residence, resulting in a clear and fluid layout with architectural presence. The design is defined by selected materials and balanced proportions that give the interior a calm character. This project represents a milestone for Henge as it demonstrates how the brand’s furniture and material language can shape an entire living environment. Rather than simply placing objects within an interior, the project develops a coherent architectural concept in which materials, proportions and atmosphere work together to define the space. The initial brief focused on merging two complex apartments into one home while creating a masculine, urban interior. The challenge was not only architectural but also technical, as structural elements, electrical systems and lighting needed to be integrated into one system. From this starting point, the design developed into a space with identity, clear detailing and a consistent material concept. The emphasis was placed on quality, integration and a calm atmosphere. The apartment measures approximately 200 square metres and was restructured. Several walls were removed, the technical infrastructure rebuilt and the layout reorganised to create a fluid spatial experience. Henge played a central role in defining the masculine material language, which contrasts with softer bespoke elements such as suede-clad walls and warm textures. Almost all elements in the apartment were customised. Suede-clad wall panels, doors and shelving were developed specifically for the project, creating a cohesive architectural envelope. Even the Henge table was adapted to a lounge height according to the client’s request, while the black marble wall cladding was adjusted to align with the geometry of the space. Compared with previous residential projects, this interior places the Henge design language within an urban context. The contrast between raw architectural materials and craftsmanship produces a distinctive atmosphere. The design reflects the Henge vision through clear lines, balanced proportions and emphasis on materiality. The atmosphere is calm, structured and tactile, with light used to emphasise depth and texture throughout the apartment. Contemporary luxury is expressed through the authenticity of materials, precision in detailing and transitions between surfaces. There is no decorative excess, only considered choices and high-quality finishes. Metallic finishes, treated surfaces with natural patina, cast cement flooring, luminous onyx and suede-clad wall panels were central to the concept. Each material was selected for its intrinsic depth and quality, creating a balance between architectural precision and warmth. The dialogue between light, texture and materiality lends the space a timeless elegance while reinforcing its character. • CoSpace: Joy St. Clair Imagined It – Now She’s Expanding It

Walk into CoSpace on any given afternoon and you will hear music before you see anything else. Not elevator music. Not a curated playlist designed to make you feel productive. Something with a little more soul than that, the kind of soundtrack that tells you immediately this space was made by someone who thought carefully about who would be sitting in it. That has always been the point. When Joy St. Clair opened CoSpace in 2023, she was building the space she had looked for and never found, a professional environment where Black entrepreneurs, creatives, and small business owners could work without having to shrink themselves to fit in. Three years later, the vision has not changed. The square footage has. This spring, St. Clair expanded CoSpace from 500 to 1,536 square feet, a move backed by nearly 1,800 members served, more than 266 events hosted, and a Best Coworking Space in Florida title she has now held two years in a row. All of it self-funded. All of it in Miami Gardens, where St. Clair deliberately chose to build the business. “If I was going to start a business I knew 100% that it would be located in Miami Gardens,” St. Clair said. St. Clair, who grew up in Liberty City and graduated from South Miami Senior High’s magnet program, first opened CoSpace after noticing a gap she knew personally. During the pandemic, working remotely as a project manager while pregnant and managing her health as a Non-Hodgkin lymphoma survivor, she started looking for a coworking space that felt right for someone like her. She could not find one. So she started it herself. What started with 18 members and a gallery wall she built in a weekend for Black artists to show and sell their work has grown into one of South Florida’s most recognized independent coworking spaces. The expansion brings more offices, more desks, more room for the workshops, content shoots, and community moments that have made CoSpace what it is. The feel, St. Clair is clear, stays exactly the same. A few years ago, St. Clair sat in front of her laptop at CoSpace and watched every person who walked through the door wave hello. Standing in a space three times the size of where she started, with hundreds of members and two state titles behind her, it is starting to look like the middle of something much bigger. CoSpace founder Joy St. Clair CoSpace is located at 17161 NW 27th Ave, Miami Gardens, FL 33056. Membership inquiries and more information are available at welcometocospace.com and on Instagram at @the.cospace. About CoSpace CoSpace is Miami Gardens’ first co-working and content studio, founded by Joy St. Clair in 2023. Self-funded and community driven, CoSpace has served nearly 1,800 members, hosted more than 266 events, and earned Best Coworking Space in Florida two consecutive years. The space supports entrepreneurs, creatives, and small business owners with professional workspace, content production capabilities, and a community built around collaboration, culture, and growth. • Why a Gold Letter Necklace Is the Perfect Personalized Jewelry Choice

Image by DepositPhotos 1. Introduction In a world where fashion is increasingly personal, jewelry has evolved from mere adornment to a form of self-expression. Personalized accessories have become a meaningful way to express identity, and pieces like a gold letter necklace offer both style and sentimental value in a subtle, elegant form. Whether it’s your own initial, a loved one’s, or a symbol of an important moment, a single letter close to your heart carries quiet significance that transcends trends. In an age of mass production, wearing something uniquely yours, crafted in enduring gold, feels like a gentle act of authenticity. 2. The Rise of Personalized Jewelry Gone are the days when jewelry was chosen solely for its sparkle or brand. Today’s consumers seek pieces with meaning, items that tell a story or honor a connection. Fueled by social media and celebrity styling, personalized jewelry has surged in popularity, with initials, birthstones, and coordinates becoming modern heirlooms. Letters, in particular, stand out for their simplicity and universality: they’re instantly recognizable, deeply personal, and never go out of style. Unlike fleeting fashion statements, a name or initial remains relevant across decades, making it a rare blend of trend-aware and timeless. 3. What Makes a Gold Letter Necklace Special? A gold letter necklace strikes a rare balance: minimalist enough for daily wear, yet rich with personal symbolism. Unlike statement pieces that suit only special occasions, this delicate accessory seamlessly integrates into any wardrobe, office attire, weekend denim, or evening elegance. Its understated nature makes it appropriate for teens, professionals, and grandparents alike, offering a timeless way to carry what matters most, right next to your skin. And because gold resists tarnish and fading, the piece grows more meaningful with time, acquiring a soft patina that mirrors your journey. 4. Styling a Gold Letter Necklace One of its greatest strengths is versatility. Wear it alone for clean, modern minimalism, or layer it with other fine chains for a curated, bohemian look. A short 14–16” chain sits delicately at the collarbone, perfect with V-necks or open blouses; a longer 18–20” version flows beautifully over turtlenecks or dresses. For added depth, mix metals, pair a yellow gold initial with a rose gold satellite chain, or stack multiple initials to represent family members. Pair it with casual linen for effortless charm or with a tailored suit for refined sophistication. Whether your style leans quiet luxury or bold individuality, a gold initial adapts without overpowering. 5. A Meaningful Gift for Any Occasion Few gifts feel as thoughtful as personalized jewelry. A gold letter necklace can commemorate a graduation (first initial), celebrate motherhood (child’s initial), honor a lost loved one, or mark a milestone anniversary. It’s also a beautiful “just because” gesture, a tangible reminder that someone holds you in their thoughts. Because it’s wearable art with emotional weight, it resonates far more deeply than generic presents. It says, “I see you, and what matters to you.” And unlike flowers or candles, it lasts a lifetime, becoming a cherished keepsake. Image by DepositPhotos 6. Materials and Craftsmanship Quality matters, especially for everyday wear. Look for necklaces made from solid gold (10k, 14k, or 18k) or high-quality gold vermeil over sterling silver for lasting shine and hypoallergenic comfort. Solid gold won’t tarnish or fade, ensuring the piece remains luminous for years. Thoughtful craftsmanship, secure clasps, smooth edges, and balanced weight, ensures both beauty and durability. Reputable brands also offer ethical sourcing and artisanal finishing, adding another layer of value to your purchase. 7. How to Choose the Right Necklace Start with meaning: whose initial will it carry? Then consider style: Chain length: 16” for subtlety, 18–20” for versatility Letter design: script for softness, block for modern edge Finish: polished for brilliance, matte for understatement Choose a piece that reflects the wearer’s personality, not just the trend of the moment. Consider lifestyle too: active individuals may prefer shorter, sturdier chains, while those who love layering might opt for delicate, adjustable styles. 8. Everyday Elegance and Long-Term Value Unlike fast-fashion accessories, a well-made gold letter necklace becomes a lifelong staple. It doesn’t date, doesn’t clash, and doesn’t require special occasions to be worn. Over time, it accumulates personal history, scratches, polish, and all, becoming a quiet companion through life’s chapters. In a disposable culture, that kind of enduring value is rare. It’s not just jewelry; it’s a legacy in the making. 9. Conclusion A gold letter necklace is more than jewelry, it’s a whisper of identity, a token of love, and a testament to timeless design. Its blend of emotional depth, aesthetic simplicity, and everyday practicality explains why personalized pieces continue to grow in popularity. In a single initial, you carry a world of meaning, elegantly, quietly, and forever. Whether for yourself or someone you cherish, it’s a small symbol with infinite resonance. By ML Staff. • Miami’s Hidden Luxury Amenity Driving Sales

In South Florida’s ultra-competitive luxury market, where buyers expect more than just square footage and views, a once-overlooked feature is quietly becoming one of the most powerful drivers of value: the closet. What was traditionally treated as a secondary, utilitarian space is now emerging as a defining amenity in high-end residences, influencing both pricing and speed of sale. “There’s been a clear shift,” says Claudio Faria of Ornare. “Closets have become one of the most important investments in the home. Clients are dedicating more space, more budget, and more attention to them than ever before.” According to Ornare, more than 85 percent of recent client demand across kitchens, baths, and closets has shifted toward closet design, with many projects reaching six figures and some exceeding half a million dollars, signaling a major reallocation of where luxury buyers are placing value. Developers are taking note and increasingly turning to Ornare as a key partner in delivering this amenity. Related Ross has integrated Ornare into its Artisan Home Program, offering buyers a seamless, high-touch approach to custom closets and turnkey living. Savanna has also tapped the brand for Olara, while Fortune International Group and Chateau Group have incorporated Ornare closets into St. Regis Residences Sunny Isles Beach. Across each of these projects, custom closets are being treated not as an upgrade, but as a core component of the luxury offering, reflecting both buyer demand and the growing importance of design-driven, lifestyle amenities. For many of Miami’s top brokers, the appeal of a luxury closet is both professional and personal. Industry leaders including Jill Hertzberg, Dora Puig, Anna Sherrill, Jay Parker, and Dina Goldentayer have all invested in custom closets within their own homes, reinforcing their belief in the value these spaces bring. As one broker notes, closets are no longer hidden, they are part of the experience buyers expect to see and engage with. That shift is especially evident among a new generation of buyers who are reimagining closets as living spaces rather than purely functional ones. Designers are incorporating seating areas, bars, desks, and even entertainment zones, transforming closets into extensions of the home. Collections of handbags, shoes, and clothing are displayed with the same level of care as art, turning the closet into a curated, expressive environment. This evolution was recently on display at an event hosted at Ornare’s Miami showroom, where fashion tastemakers gathered to showcase their personal collections, celebrating the closet as both a private sanctuary and a statement space. In a market where buyers are increasingly driven by emotion and lifestyle, these details matter more than ever. The rise of the luxury closet reflects a broader shift in how homes are designed, marketed, and experienced. What was once behind closed doors is now front and center, and in Miami’s luxury real estate market, it may be one of the most valuable spaces in the home. By ML staff. • YAFA Signed Jewels Debuts New Boutique at Bal Harbour Shops

YAFA Signed Jewels has opened a new boutique at Bal Harbour Shops, marking the brand’s third location and its first expansion into Miami retail. Founded more than 40 years ago by Yafa Moradof and her son Maurice Moradof, the family-run company has built a reputation for sourcing rare signed vintage jewelry and museum-quality pieces for collectors around the world. Before expanding into retail, YAFA operated as a supplier of rare signed jewelry to major jewelry houses and private collectors. The new Miami boutique joins YAFA’s flagship on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach and its private client salon in New York City. Located on the second floor of Bal Harbour Shops, the 3,000-square-foot space was designed with modern interiors and subtle Art Deco influences inspired by Miami architecture. The boutique was created to feel more like a private luxury residence than a traditional jewelry store. “The decision to open in Miami was an organic one,” said Maurice Moradof, CEO and Co-Founder of YAFA. “There is hardly a week that goes by that we aren’t visited by clients that live in or frequent the Miami area.” The opening comes as demand from Miami and Latin American collectors continues to grow. YAFA says the Bal Harbour location will feature several exclusive pieces, including a 20-carat pink diamond, mystery-set creations by Van Cleef & Arpels, and a deep green diamond. Principal Tyler Moradof said the company sees Bal Harbour Shops as a natural fit for its next phase of growth. “Bal Harbour Shops attracts an international clientele of collectors and has evolved into one of the country’s most desirable shopping destinations,” he said. “As we continue growing our physical retail presence, we remain committed to creating spaces that are refined yet inviting.” YAFA specializes in signed vintage jewelry from brands including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Harry Winston, and David Webb. Additional collections and information can be found on the brand’s official website, Yafa Signed Jewels. By ML Staff. Photos/YAFA Signed Jewels
