All fore a good cause! Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade will once again host its 57thAnnual Golf Classic in Memory of Charles “Bebe” Rebozo on Monday, March 11, 2024. The highly anticipated annual event offers players the chance to play for fun or at a competitive level. To play in the tournament, packages start at $3,500 and include fun on-course contests, lunch provided by Hooter’s, open bar and a dinner banquet with an award ceremony. Proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s crucial programs and services at its six Clubs and sites combined including its educational after-school programs, tutoring and homework assistance, STEM, social skills, dance, arts and crafts, mentoring and summer and athletic programs. These programs help children realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. On Saturday, Feb. 3, American Heritage Schools’ Pre-Law Society is pleased to host Innocence Project of Florida’s annual comedy event series, “Stand Up for Innocence,” at the school’s Broward Campus. The evening will entail levity and laughs to raise money for The Innocence Project of Florida – a nonprofit organization that aims to help innocent prisoners in Florida obtain their freedom and rebuild their lives. The event will be hosted by Karen Bergreen, a standup comedian, published novelist and former lawyer who frequently appears on Comedy Central and performs on TV and around New York City comedy clubs. Miami Dolphins linebacker and Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC) Board Member Jaelan Phillips, in collaboration with the Dolphins Challenge Cancer, GALLERY DEPT. and the Miami Design District hosted The Art of Giving Back – an exclusive fashion & art charity event at the Miami Design District. The evening included an unveiling for the DCC Team Miami Design District jersey, featuring the work of artist Bisa Butler, a silent auction and live entertainment from DJ Spinderella. This event is part of the DCC and Miami Dolphins’ year-round initiative to support those impacted by cancer. All proceeds from the event will fund life-saving research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The DCC is scheduled to host its annual ride, run/walk event, DCC XIV on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Hard Rock Stadium. He will report to Stéphane Bianchi, CEO of LVMH Watches & Jewelry Division. After successfully driving the transformation and acceleration of TAG Heuer over the past 6 years, his new role within the Watches & Jewelry Division will ensure strong and sustainable growth for the Watch Maisons and reinforce LVMH's role within the watchmaking industry. Feeding South Florida – the leading hunger-relief organization in South Florida – will host a “Mission & Music Mixer" at Village Music Wellington on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 5-8 p.m. The happy hour event will support Feeding South Florida’s mission to end hunger in the South Florida community. Currently, in South Florida, there are over 1.2 million food insecure individuals, and 1 in 9 individuals in South Florida remain uncertain about where they will get their next meal due to inflation, the strained supply chain, rising fuel prices and increased housing costs among other factors. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Economic Research Service Household Food Security in the United States in 2022 Report, the number of people living in food insecure households in the United States in 2022 increased to 44 million, including 13 million children. This is an increase of more than 30% and 40% respectively from the previous year, the highest rate and number since 2014 and the largest one-year increase since 2008.
