A new era in the 41-year history of Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida  began this month with the opening of the Finker-Frenkel Wish House , the nonprofit’s new headquarters in Miami. The one-of-a-kind facility will provide the organization event and administrative space but, most importantly, be a place children and families can come to explore possibilities and make determinations about the life-changing wishes they want to have.   MAWSF President & CEO Norm Wedderburn Malnik WishWorks Ribbon Cutting The 25,000-sq.-ft. building, located at 343 NW Sixth Street in Miami’s historic Overtown neighborhood, is five stories tall and overlooks I-95 and the downtown skyline. Its centerpiece is “WishWorks,” an interactive, multi-media experience created by a former Disney imagineer, whose leading-edge technology and effects will take critically-ill children on a journey of discovery to determine the ideal wish for them.   Finker-Frenkel Wish House WishWorks “The Finker-Frenkel Wish House is an opportunity for us to help critically-ill kids expand their imaginations and dream bigger than the reality they currently know, which is all too often dominated by thoughts of doctors, treatments, and hospitals,” said Norman Wedderburn , president & CEO of Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. “WishWorks will take their minds to another place and transform the wish discovery process as they navigate their way through what we’ve created.”     Norm Wedderburn, Eugene Frenkel A privately-funded capital campaign enabled Make-A-Wish to raise the dollars required to purchase land and build the facility without using funds generated to grant wishes. The opening of the wish house was celebrated over the course of two days with many of the stake- holder groups that collaborated during the ten years from the initial idea to ribbon cuttings, including donors, professional service firms, Make-A-Wish alumni, families, and staff. Cindy Baumgarten Among the major donors in attendance at the events were representatives of the Finker-Frenkel Family Foundation and the Malnik, Zebersky, Weissman, Crowley, and Perez families. Additionally, Sonrisa, a rum brand co-founded by Make-A-Wish Southern Florida Chairman Emeritus Shareef Malnik , provided its product at a pop-op rooftop bar. After reading this blog article, you'd want to make a purchase as soon as possible.  Stay glued for more information on our top reviews. Benefits Of Buying a Glueless Wig Instead of damaging wigs with several glues and adhesives that are present in the market today, manufacturers have deemed it fit to produce wigs that do not require any form of glue. This reduces damage to the skin, hair, scalp, and the forehead.  Imagine a lifestyle without the need to worry about daily installations of wig units with glues. Seems interesting, right? This is enough reason why they are worth the try. There are so many benefits of having a glueless wig in your collection of wigs. That is why we are here to open up all you could gain by just owning these wigs. Image by DC Studio / Adobestock Let's review them together: Glueless wigs are natural-looking Due to the nature of the lace in these wigs, once they are placed on the head, they blend into the scalp, forehead, and face. The natural look of these wigs should be studied, because they look so apt.  The extra combs and clips attached to the glueless wigs and the wig caps allow for additional security and grip. Lessen the worries about these wigs, and increase your trust. Glueless wigs are easy to use Luckily, you do not require a special skill with these wigs. The application of these wigs comes with less effort because all you have to do is take off your glueless wig from the wig’s stand, place it directly on the head, brush it, and style it. You are right on your way to begin activities for the day.  This is far easier than the conventional traditional wigs available at our disposal, including lace front wigs , frontal wigs, 360° wigs , etc.  Glueless wigs are comfortable This is in contrast with what most people think about wigs. Glueless wigs are known to be the safest stuff out there. With a full lace wig construction, you are sure to have proper ventilation through the pores and a reduced risk of itching, irritation, or allergic reactions.  This wig gives every user the premium comfort that they desire, without leaving out style and elegance. No allergies or irritation Those with allergies, irritation, and any other medical concerns have found these wigs extremely useful. The absence of glues or adhesives guarantees issue-free wear. This is because the chemicals in glues are detrimental to the epidermal layer of the skin in the long run.  In other words, glueless wigs are known to protect the edges of one’s hair. Prevention, they say, is oftentimes better than cure. If you have the money to buy these wigs, do so joyfully. • Ebb & Flow: A Multidimensional Exploration of Womanhood at The Frank C. Ortis Gallery

The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery will host the Opening Reception for Ebb & Flow: Exploring the Womanhood Continuum on November 21, 2024, from 6-9 PM. The exhibition will be on view through February 22, 2025. Artist: Ana Albertina Delgado - Title: In love with the sun, 2024 - Image courtesy of artist Curated by Pamela ‘Zee’ Lopez Del Carmen and Sophie Bonet, Ebb & Flow features eleven artists exploring the fluid, evolving concept of womanhood. The exhibition navigates personal, political, and cultural intersections shaping women’s lives through various mediums. Artists engage with themes of memory, resilience, the body, and ritual, challenging societal norms while celebrating the transformative power of art. Artist: Coralina Rodriguez Meyer - Title: Mami Erzulie Dantò (Phara from Pharaohs Miramar) - Image courtesy of the artist. A key artist in the exhibition is Coralina Rodriguez Meyer. Her Linea Negra series, including Phara From Pharaohs Miramar Diptych and Yemaya Broken Water, connects motherhood to broader cultural struggles. The Linea Negra—a dark line on pregnant women’s bellies—serves as a symbol of life’s cycles and societal pressures on women’s bodies. Her work addresses reproductive justice and environmental degradation, drawing from her Andean and Caribbean heritage to explore resilience and resistance to colonial legacies. Artist: Marina Font - Title: Hope, 2014 - Image courtesy of the artist Marina Font offers a more personal exploration of femininity with her Cycles series, a collection of 26 pigment prints that reflect on life’s cyclical nature. Inspired by her experience of abrupt menopause, Font’s work symbolizes fertility, loss, and renewal, using metaphors of light, shadow, and objects like cracked eggs to evoke themes deeply embedded in the female body. Influenced by psychoanalysis, Font’s art asks viewers to consider how unconscious forces shape identity. Artist: Amy Gelb - Title: Seen , 2023. - Image courtesy of the artist RPM Projects, a multi-generational collaboration, contributes the immersive installation The House Inside My Head. This seven-segment video installation, set within a life-sized house with hair bursting from the attic, transforms the domestic act of folding laundry into a meditation on female labor. Hair, a potent symbol of femininity, represents the emotional burdens carried by women, making the installation a reflection on memory, ritual, and the invisible work that sustains families. Through these diverse works, Ebb & Flow highlights the multifaceted nature of womanhood. Rodriguez Meyer’s Mother Mold series examines women’s bodies as cultural vessels, Font’s Cycles explores the rhythms of life and the body, and RPM Projects’ installation delves into memory and ritual. Together, these pieces illuminate the cycles of life, care, and transformation, encouraging viewers to contemplate the continuum of womanhood. Ebb & Flow is a celebration of femininity in all its forms. By bringing together the works of Coralina Rodriguez Meyer, Marina Font, RPM Projects, and eight other artists, the curators have crafted a thoughtful exhibition that invites reflection on identity, ritual, and empowerment. Exhibiting Artists: Amanda Covach, Amy Gelb, Ana Albertina Delgado, Coralina Rodriguez Meyer, RPM Projects, Ivonne Ferrer, Lisu Vega, MaiYap, Marina Font. One can easily get swept away with over-excitement, but having a clear plan helps in making the experience more enjoyable without extra stress. Loyalty programs and promotions offered by many casinos will also add value to your experience and give you more bang for your buck. Lastly, if you're new to gaming or are unfamiliar with the games offered, take some time to learn the rules and strategies. More often than not, knowing the basics will give you a far better chance of enjoying the games, from blackjack to slot machines, and perhaps leaving as a winner.
