- Dégagé Chic: Introducing the Fall/Winter 2025 Michael Kors Collection Runway Show
Dégagé chic was the theme of Michael Kors’ Fall/Winter 2025 runway show, which took place this morning at Terminal Warehouse—the former location of the iconic 1990s Tunnel Nightclub—in Chelsea, New York City. The space was transformed into a sleek, welcoming residential space with mid-century furniture, exposed brick and wood paneling, Japanese lanterns, end tables and home décor reminiscent of a downtown New York loft. “This show was inspired by the laid-back elegance that imbues the spirit of our homes and our new Michael Kors Collection store on Madison Avenue,” says designer Michael Kors. “Timeless, warm, modern, architectural yet sensual, I wanted the collection to exemplify cozy modernism and hands in the pockets chic.” For Fall/Winter, Kors embraced the relaxed glamour that characterizes this mood with the softly tailored menswear coats and jackets shown over pleated skirts and trousers alike, while whisper-light layering added movement to soft dresses, liquid silk overshirts and draped blouses. Textural shearlings added warmth to the season, emphasized by cozy blanket and pajama dressing and neoclassic knitwear for the ultimate autumnal ensemble. Rich tones of chocolate, caramel, bottle and aubergine countered urban greys and the timeless appeal of black and white, punctuated by dusty shades of iris and celadon. On the footwear front, it was all about the boot, from ankle boots to riding boots with architectural heels. Streamlined travel-inspired bags—bowling bags, satchels and oversized clutches—brought the finishing touches to the collection. A custom soundtrack crafted by composer Sebastien Perrin leaned into the cool, sophisticated British music moment of the ‘80s and ‘90s as models including Liisa Winkler, Georgina Grenville, Malgosia Bela, Paloma Elsesser, Angelina Kendall, Lina Zhang, Jessica Miller, Amelia Gray Hamlin, Mona Tougaard, Alex Consani and more walked the runway. Uma Thurman, Kerry Washington, Nicole Scherzinger, Rachel Brosnahan, Rose Byrne, Rachel Zegler, Suki Waterhouse, Lea Michele and others were among the A-list front row. By ML Staff. - Gustavo Nazareno’s Baroque Visions Arrive In Miami and Bal Harbour
On the cusp of his first solo exhibitions in the United States, Brazilian artist Gustavo Nazareno is poised to captivate audiences in Miami and Bal Harbour with a powerful synthesis of history, faith, and identity. Through his two distinct shows— Afro-Latin Baroque at Opera Gallery in Miami and Bára at Opera Gallery Bal Harbour —Nazareno offers a visual dialogue between the grandeur of the Baroque and the spiritual traditions of the African diaspora. The exhibition is on view from March 6 to March 29, 2025. A rising star in contemporary Brazilian art, Nazareno has already made waves with his participation in One Becomes Many at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, a group exhibition spotlighting prominent Black Brazilian artists. His work, which draws on influences from the rich artistic heritage of his home state of Minas Gerais, finds new resonance in Miami, a city that exists at the crossroads of Latin American and Afro-Caribbean cultures. A Baroque of the Americas In Afro-Latin Baroque , Nazareno reinvents the aesthetic traditions of the Baroque, a style known for its dramatic use of light, shadow, and religious symbolism. While Baroque art in 17th-century Europe was shaped by Catholicism’s visual theatrics, its influence spread across Latin America, evolving through the hands of Indigenous and Afro-descendant artists. In Brazil, artists such as Aleijadinho transformed European Baroque into something uniquely their own, fusing it with local traditions and spiritual practices. Nazareno continues this legacy, connecting Brazil’s Baroque past with the Afro-Cuban influences of Santería and the Brazilian religious tradition of Candomblé. Nazareno’s paintings possess a haunting elegance—figures draped in deep, velvety blacks, bathed in the glow of a candlelit world. His compositions feel at once ancient and avant-garde, blending the opulence of Baroque architecture with the evocative, ephemeral nature of human existence. The figures in his works are unbound by fixed identity, existing between genders, ages, and cultural markers, embodying the fluidity of the spiritual realm. The Rituals of Bára At Opera Gallery Bal Harbour, Nazareno presents Bára , a series of over 30 charcoal drawings that delve into the dance ceremonies of Eshu, one of the most complex deities in Yoruba and Afro-Brazilian religious traditions. With his signature technique—applying charcoal dust with his fingertips in a candlelit studio—Nazareno renders figures that appear sculpted from darkness itself, their movements echoing centuries-old rituals. The stark contrast of his monochromatic palette evokes the dramatic chiaroscuro of Caravaggio while simultaneously resembling the timeless quality of black-and-white photography. Bára offers an intimate look at a culture where the divine is made manifest through movement and storytelling. The rhythmic gestures of Eshu’s worshippers take shape in Nazareno’s hands, their fluidity capturing the spirit of transcendence. It is a series that breathes life into history, reminding viewers that faith, like art, is an ever-evolving act of creation. Miami: A Cultural Crossroads For Nazareno, Miami is the perfect setting for this dual presentation. As a city deeply influenced by Brazilian and Cuban diasporic communities, Miami serves as a bridge between the artistic legacies he seeks to explore. “These works are a dialogue between the sacred and the ancestral,” Nazareno reflects, “where the ornate grandeur of Baroque art meets the resilient vibrancy of Candomblé and Santería.” Both exhibitions highlight Opera Gallery’s commitment to showcasing diverse artistic voices, and the presence of Nazareno’s work in such a dynamic cultural hub reinforces the growing global recognition of Afro-Latin artists. As his paintings and drawings invite viewers into a world where history, faith, and art converge, Nazareno reminds us that the past is never truly past—it is reborn in every stroke, every shadow, and every ritual reenacted on canvas and paper. Afro-Latin Baroque and Bára are on view at Opera Gallery Miami and Opera Gallery Bal Harbour, respectively. For more information, visit operagallery.com . By ML Staff. - Quiet Your Mind: Cameron Rogers' Journey to Empower Mental Wellness through Creative Expression
Cameron Rogers is an entrepreneur, podcast host of Conversations with Cam, and mother of two, who has recently launched her first book, Quiet Your Mind. This innovative book combines coloring, journaling, and self-affirmations to promote mental wellness for adults. Created during Cameron's own recovery from a concussion, the journal encourages individuals to reconnect with their inner child and prioritize mental health. As a mental health advocate, Cameron has leveraged her personal experiences to design a tool that addresses the growing need for effective mental health practices in today’s fast-paced world. In an exclusive interview with Miami Living Magazine, Cameron shares the inspiration behind Quiet Your Mind , the role of creative activities in mental health, and the impact of her personal journey on the development of this unique tool. ML: Can you tell us about the inspiration behind creating Quiet Your Mind and how your personal recovery journey influenced its development? Like many others, I’ve faced my own mental health challenges. This book was born out of two practices that have profoundly helped me quiet my mind and engage my hands: journaling and coloring. Over the past six years, journaling has become my anchor. It began out of necessity when I was recovering from a concussion and couldn’t rely on my usual screen-based distractions. As I wrote, I felt liberated and at peace. Since becoming a mom, my journaling practice has become a sacred part of my routine. It’s an integral part of my morning ritual—a time to fill my own cup before pouring into my children’s. It has become an absolute necessity for starting my day. No matter the circumstances, I always jot down a few things in my journal first thing in the morning. The second component of this book, the coloring affirmations, combines two other tools that have been essential in my mental health journey. Years ago, I began writing affirmations in my journal and repeating them aloud—“I am worthy,” “I am deserving,” “I am enough.” Over time, this simple practice transformed how I saw myself. Similarly, after having kids and joining them in their coloring sessions, I discovered how meditative coloring can be and how it truly quiets my mind. Ultimately, this product was created because it was something I personally wanted but couldn’t find on the market. I’ve built an incredible community of like-minded women online, and I assumed (correctly!) that if I was searching for a product like this, so were they. ML: What role do you believe activities like coloring, journaling, and self-affirmations play in improving mental health, especially for adults? I believe these tools are incredible and can have a profoundly positive impact on mental health. Speaking from personal experience, they have helped me navigate a wide range of challenges, from anxiety to postpartum depression. Journaling, in particular, provides a valuable outlet to step out of your own head, work through emotions in real-time, and manifest the future you want to create. Most importantly, it offers an ideal way to start your morning without technology—something I believe we all should prioritize. Self-affirmations, on the other hand, completely transformed the way my inner voice spoke to me. We all have that inner critic that can grow unbearably loud, and it takes time, practice, and commitment to turn down its volume and ultimately change its narrative. For many adults, self-affirmations offer healing to a version of their inner child they may not have even realized needed it. Speaking of the inner child, one of the reasons I love coloring so much for adults is that it allows us to reconnect with that joyful, carefree spirit of a child who makes time to simply play—something adults don’t do nearly enough. Not only is coloring fun and creative, but it’s also incredibly soothing and meditative, helping you focus on staying within the lines rather than your never-ending to-do list. ML: As a mother, how has your perspective on creative expression shifted, and how did that influence the design of this journal? Before having kids, I was a type-A perfectionist who viewed many aspects of my life in a black-and-white manner, never allowing myself to find comfort in the gray areas. Honestly, I often let perfection get in the way of progress. Once I became a parent and realized how much was out of my control, I had to learn to embrace the messiness of it all. It was freeing to exist in that in-between space—accepting and finding solace in the duality of life, where two conflicting emotions can coexist. Parenting can be both beautiful and hard. This shift in perspective influenced my self-care practices and how I prioritized my mental health. I wanted to maintain the habits I knew helped me, but I also had to be realistic about what they would look like in this new stage of life. I didn’t have the same amount of time to dedicate to them as I once did. That’s where the idea for this journal was first born—it’s designed to be picked up and used as you please, whenever you can, for however long you’re able. There’s no set amount of time per day or a requirement to use it consecutively. It’s here for you when you’re ready, willing, and able. In the same way, I’ve allowed myself to enjoy the creative process and not take everything so seriously. The illustrations, designed by Hannah Sheridan, are playful, simple to complete, and meant to spark inspiration and joy. ML: The journal takes a unique approach by combining artistic and reflective exercises. How do you see this helping individuals balance their mental health in today’s fast-paced world? This journal is designed to encourage people to slow down, connect with their emotions in the present moment, and give themselves the space to truly explore what they’re feeling. The journaling component provides a place to dive deeper into topics you may have previously brushed off, whether positive or negative, and to work through lingering emotions. With the optional prompts, you might sit down thinking, “I don’t have much to say today,” only to answer a question and unexpectedly embark on a journey of personal reflection and growth you didn’t realize you needed. The artistic aspect of the journal, featuring coloring affirmations, allows you to rediscover the joy of screen-free play, reminiscent of childhood. It’s a fun and creative way to unwind while keeping your hands physically busy—making it nearly impossible to drift into tapping a different app on your phone and suddenly finding yourself 20 minutes deep into a doom scroll. Instead, it encourages you to stay present and engaged in the moment. ML: What feedback have you received from readers so far, and how has their response shaped your vision for future projects? We’ve received such positive feedback on the journal, which confirms that when you create something you’re passionate about and genuinely want for yourself, others will follow! So far, we’ve heard from several licensed mental health professionals who are recommending this product to their patients, as they find it makes self-care accessible and serves as an excellent tool to relieve stress, soothe the mind, and calm the body. We’ve also heard from many people who have always felt intimidated by journaling but have found this journal fun and approachable. That’s what has kept them coming back for more and finally building a lasting journaling practice—which is my dream for everyone! The feedback that has had the biggest impact on our vision for future projects has been the countless images we’ve received of people coloring while their kids join in alongside them. Although this edition is designed specifically for adults, we’re excited about the possibility of creating future versions tailored for kids and teens as well! ML: With a growing audience across social media and your podcast, how do you leverage these platforms to promote mental wellness and connect with your community? My goal over the past five-plus years on the internet has been to remind people that, no matter what they are feeling, they are not alone, and to help others feel seen. While our individual life experiences may differ, there are many shared emotions and underlying connections that we can all relate to if we allow ourselves to be authentically open. With this in mind, I aim to share the realities of my mental health struggles and, most importantly, what has helped me navigate them. As I work toward cultivating a healthy and happy body and mind, I share my everyday ups and downs, along with tips and strategies, in the hope of supporting anyone else who may be going through something similar. - Technical Analysis Tools Every Forex Trader Should Know
As a Forex trader, mastering technical analysis tools can greatly enhance your trading strategies and decision-making process. You'll find that tools like candlestick charts and moving averages not only help visualize price movements but also reveal trends and potential reversals. Understanding key indicators such as the RSI and MACD can provide insights into market momentum. However, knowing how to effectively utilize these tools is just the beginning; there's more to explore that could elevate your trading game. What's the next step in refining your approach? Image by energepic.com / Pexels Understanding Candlestick Charts Candlestick charts are crucial tools for Forex traders, providing a visual representation of price movements that encapsulate market sentiment. Each candlestick reflects four key price points: the open, high, low, and close. By analyzing these elements, you can gain insights into market dynamics over a specified time frame. A candlestick's body indicates the price range between the opening and closing prices. If the close is higher than the open, the body typically appears as a hollow or green candlestick, signaling bullish sentiment. Conversely, a filled or red body reveals a closing price lower than the opening, suggesting bearish pressure. The wicks or shadows extending from the body represent the high and low prices during that period, offering additional context about volatility. Recognizing patterns in candlesticks, such as dojis or hammers, can help you make informed trading decisions. These formations often signal potential reversals or continuations in price trends. Importance of Trend Lines While understanding candlestick patterns is essential, recognizing the significance of trend lines can further refine your trading strategy. Trend lines serve as a visual representation of price movement , helping you identify the overall direction of the market. By connecting significant price points, you can establish support and resistance levels, which are fundamental for making informed trading decisions. Here are some key reasons why trend lines matter: Direction Identification : They help you determine whether the market is in an uptrend, downtrend, or sideways movement. Trade Entry and Exit : Trend lines can signal ideal entry and exit points for your trades. Market Psychology : They reflect the collective behavior of traders, providing insights into market sentiment. Risk Management : By defining clear levels of support and resistance, trend lines assist in setting stop-loss orders. Confirmation Tool : Trend lines can confirm signals from other indicators, enhancing the reliability of your trading strategy. Incorporating trend lines into your analysis not only enhances your understanding of price action but also improves your decision-making process, allowing for more strategic trades. Key Technical Indicators When maneuvering the Forex market, understanding key technical indicators is essential for honing your trading strategy. These indicators provide valuable insights into market trends, potential reversals, and overall price dynamics. Among the most widely used indicators are the Relative Strength Index (RSI), Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), and Bollinger Bands. The RSI helps you gauge overbought or oversold conditions by measuring the speed and change of price movements. A reading above 70 often indicates overbought conditions, while a reading below 30 suggests the opposite. MACD, on the other hand, tracks the relationship between two moving averages of a security's price. This indicator can signal potential buy or sell opportunities through crossovers, where the MACD line intersects the signal line. Bollinger Bands consist of a simple moving average and two standard deviation lines above and below it. They help you identify volatility and potential price reversals. When prices touch the upper band, it may indicate overbought conditions, while touching the lower band suggests oversold conditions. Utilizing these key technical indicators effectively can enhance your decision-making process and improve your overall trading performance. Utilizing Moving Averages Moving averages are pivotal tools in your Forex trading arsenal, providing a clear view of price trends over a specific period. By smoothing out price data, they help you identify trends and potential reversal points, enhancing your decision-making process. Here's how you can effectively utilize moving averages: Trend Identification : Use moving averages to determine the current trend direction—upward, downward, or sideways. Support and Resistance Levels : Moving averages often act as dynamic support and resistance levels, guiding your entry and exit points. Crossover Signals : Pay attention to when a short-term moving average crosses a long-term moving average, as this can indicate potential buy or sell signals. Timeframe Selection : Choose the appropriate moving average period based on your trading style—shorter for day trading and longer for swing trading. Combining with Other Indicators : Integrate moving averages with other technical indicators, such as RSI or MACD, to enhance your analysis. Combining moving averages with insights from trusted trading platforms like kama-capital.com can further refine your strategy and improve trade execution. Exploring Fibonacci Retracement After establishing trends and potential reversal points with moving averages, exploring Fibonacci retracement can further enhance your technical analysis toolkit. This tool focuses on identifying potential support and resistance levels based on the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical ratio found in nature and financial markets. To use Fibonacci retracement, you first identify a significant price movement, whether it's a bullish or bearish trend. You then apply the Fibonacci levels, which typically include 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, and 100%. These levels represent areas where price corrections might occur, allowing you to anticipate potential reversals. For instance, if you're analyzing a bullish trend and the price begins to pull back, it often retraces to one of these Fibonacci levels before continuing its upward trajectory. You can place buy orders near these retracement levels, ideally combining this approach with additional indicators for confirmation. Analyzing Support and Resistance Support and resistance levels play an essential role in technical analysis, providing valuable insights into price dynamics in the Forex market. These levels indicate potential price points where the market may reverse or consolidate, helping you make informed trading decisions. Understanding how to identify and analyze these levels can enhance your trading strategy considerably. To effectively analyze support and resistance, consider the following: Historical Price Data : Review past price movements to identify where the price has previously reversed. Psychological Levels : Round numbers often act as support or resistance, as traders tend to place buy or sell orders around them. Trendlines : Draw trendlines to visualize potential support and resistance areas based on the price's trajectory. Volume Analysis : High trading volume at certain price levels can confirm the strength of support or resistance. Time Frame Consideration : Examine multiple time frames to gain a thorough view of important support and resistance levels. Implementing Oscillators and Momentum Indicators Identifying support and resistance levels provides a solid foundation for your trading strategy, but incorporating oscillators and momentum indicators can further refine your analysis. These tools help you gauge market strength and potential price reversals, enhancing your decision-making process. One popular oscillator is the Relative Strength Index (RSI), which measures the speed and change of price movements. An RSI above 70 often indicates overbought conditions, while an RSI below 30 suggests oversold conditions. By monitoring these levels, you can identify potential entry and exit points. Another critical indicator is the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD). This tool tracks momentum through the relationship between two moving averages. When the MACD line crosses above the signal line, it generates a bullish signal, while a cross below indicates a bearish trend. Stochastic Oscillator is also valuable, as it compares a security's closing price to its price range over a specific period. Values above 80 signal overbought conditions, while those below 20 suggest oversold conditions. Conclusion In the ever-changing landscape of Forex trading, mastering technical analysis tools is like wielding a compass in a dense forest. By steering through candlestick patterns, trend lines, and key indicators, you can uncover hidden pathways to profitability. Embracing moving averages and Fibonacci retracement helps you weave through market fluctuations, while support and resistance levels act as sturdy beacons. Finally, oscillators and momentum indicators illuminate your trading journey, ensuring you remain grounded in sound strategies for success. By ML Staff. Image courtesy of Pexels

- Is Florida Poised to Become the Next Poker and Gaming Hub?
Florida has long been a premier tourist destination, boasting a myriad of attractions, pristine beaches, and luxurious resorts that draw millions from around the globe. In 2024, the Sunshine State shattered previous tourism records. According to Visit Florida's estimates, in the third quarter of 2024 alone, the state welcomed an unprecedented 34.6 million visitors . This surge is attributed to Florida’s diverse tourist attractions, from the magical theme parks in Orlands to the vibrant nightlife of Miami. The state’s tourism industry has seen consistent growth compared to previous years, positioning Florida as a formidable competitor to traditional entertainment hubs like Las Vegas. With a thriving hospitality sector and increasing visitor numbers, Florida is becoming an attractive destination not only for vacationers but also for gaming enthusiasts. Here's why. Regulatory changes could reshape Florida’s gaming industry This burgeoning tourism landscape is complemented by regulatory shifts that are transforming Florida’s gaming industry. A proposed bill, known as SB 1054, aims to expand gambling within the state, potentially allowing for a broader range of gaming activities. More specifically, it says that gaming permit holders should be allowed to transfer their licenses to new locations within a 30-mile radius. While the bill’s passage remains uncertain, its introduction marks a growing interest in diversifying Florida’s entertainment options. Proponents argue that such an expansion could stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and attract a new demographic of tourists seeking gaming experiences. If approved, this legislation could allow more casinos to operate in the state, enabling Florida to compete with established gambling markets like Nevada and New Jersey. Major poker and gambling events boost Florida’s profile Beyond legislative efforts, Florida has already made strides in enhancing its gaming appeal. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino recently launched Vegas-style table games, including roulette and craps, after a prolonged legal battle. The grand opening was a star-studded affair, featuring celebrities like Gloria and Emilio Estefan, rapper Rick Ross, and boxing legend Mike Tyson. This event marked a new chapter in Florida’s gaming history, underscoring the state’s potential to host high-profile gaming events. Florida’s appeal to gambling enthusiasts is further amplified by unique events such as Chris Moneymaker’s poker tour . Last year, this tour offered players the chance to win packages and participate in tournaments in Florida, Aruba, and Las Vegas. The tour was a massive success, pushing the event sponsor to go all-in for another tour this year. With US poker site ACR Poker's support, players can win one of 30 packages at any stop of their choosing, providing both locals and visitors with opportunities to engage in competitive play. These events enhance Florida’s reputation as a poker and gaming hub, attracting participants from across the nation and beyond. Miami’s luxury scene attracts high-rollers Florida’s allure extends beyond its gaming tables. Miami, in particular, is home to iconic establishments like the Fontainebleau, renowned for its lavish accommodations and rich history. Last year, the luxury resort announced that it would host a two-year US residency for award-winning DJ and producer David Guetta. Notably, there have also been discussions about adding a casino floor to this legendary resort. While it did not come to pass, future attempts to revisit the proposal are anticipated. The city’s culinary landscape is another hotbed for high-rollers. As of 2024, an impressive 14 restaurants throughout Greater Miami and Miami Beach have at least one Michelin star . Le Jardinier by The Bastion Collection, for instance, promises a seasonal menu for discerning palates. These developments cater to well-heeled clientele seeking upscale living and gourmet dining, enhancing Miami’s appeal as a comprehensive entertainment destination. The combination of legislative initiatives, high-profile gaming events, and luxury establishments positions the Sunshine State as a burgeoning poker and gaming hub. While challenges remain, the state’s trajectory suggests a promising future for gaming enthusiasts and industry stakeholders alike. She has amassed a strong following of peri/post-menopausal women who have found immense success following the HBD Diet. These women are joyfully reclaiming their health, their perfect weight, and their energy - proving that vitality, weight loss and great health is recoverable at any stage in life. About Petronella Ravenshear Ravenshear's journey into nutrition began with her own son’s health struggles. After conventional medicine provided only temporary relief through antibiotics, she sought alternative solutions from homeopaths and osteopaths. However, it wasn’t until she discovered The Optimum Health Bible by Patrick Holford that she really saw a change. She eliminated wheat and dairy from her son’s diet and introduced probiotics, and to her relief, he began to recover. This experience ignited Ravenshear’s passion for nutrition, leading her to pursue a career in the field. She enrolled at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition and, after three years of study, qualified as a Nutritional Therapist. In 2004, she opened her own clinic, and through word of mouth, her practice flourished to the point where she quickly had a waiting list of clients including Britian’s top fashion set including the British Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire fashion-set, but also royalty and celebrities. During this period, she also obtained a diploma in psycho-neuro-immunology (cPNI), further expanding her understanding of the mind-body connection. Since embarking upon this journey, Ravenshear has amassed a number of astonishing success stories, helping people with auto-immune, Type 1 diabetes, chronic migraines, macular degeneration and hormonal issues from troublesome periods to menopause. As her client base grew, Ravenshear realised that access to good health shouldn’t be limited to the few. Determined to democratise the process, she felt inspired to share her knowledge by writing a book. In 2018, The Human Being Diet was published to widespread acclaim, amassing over 1,000 positive reviews on Amazon. Ravenshear takes pride in the fact that individuals no longer need to spend $thousands on personalised programmes—they can follow her book and achieve the same transformative results. The Human Being Diet provides the essential ‘rules’ for following the programme, while the accompanying cookbook offers the practical ‘tools’. Together, these two books equip readers with the knowledge and power to reduce inflammation, and resolve digestive and skin problems, with the added benefit of weight loss as a side effect. Following the advice in The Human Being Diet enables everyone to live the life that we are meant to live, with boundless energy and vitality. Due to strong interest and demand for her book and program in the USA, Petronella Ravenshear recently relocated to Palm Beach, Florida, where she continues to inspire and change the lives of many. Courtesy Malba - Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires. Photo: Santiago Orti Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition programming for 2025, including Narratives in Focus , an exploration of photography drawn from PAMM’s collection; Gyula Kosice: Intergalactic , a celebration of the late experimental Argentine artist; and Elliot and Erick Jiménez: El Monte, an exhibition of new and never-before-seen works from the identical twins Elliot and Erick Jiménez that bridge Western art historical imagery and the spiritual practice of Lucumí. Narratives in Focus: Selections from PAMM’s Collection Through October 5, 2025 Narratives in Focus explores photography drawn from PAMM’s collection. Featuring a diverse range of artists from the Caribbean, United States, Latin America, and Africa, this exhibition delves into nuanced expressions of individual and collective identities, prompting viewers to critically engage with themes of race, gender, and culture. The exhibition emphasizes the power of photography as a medium to investigate personal histories, cultural identities, and social dynamics. Through diverse visual languages, the artists highlight issues of memory, migration, and the interplay between tradition and modernity. Themes of survival, resistance, and empowerment are prevalent, reflecting the artists’ commitment to addressing and redefining notions of home, land, and community. Presented artists are Widline Cadet, Sarah Charlesworth, River Claure, Camila Falquez, Anna Bella Geiger, Njaimeh Njie, Athi-Patra Ruga, and Mary Sibande. Widline Cadet. Evans, and The Miracle of Helvetia by Guerreiro do Divino Amor. Each video takes viewers on a journey through alternate realities where the boundaries between the real, the virtual, and the imagined blur. Collectively, the works examine how constructed worlds—whether simulated, cultural, or mythological—shape our understanding of identity, space, and power. Guerreiro do Divino Amor. Courtesy of the artis Gyula Kosice: Intergalactic March 20, 2025–September 7, 2025 One hundred years after his birth, Gyula Kosice: Intergalactic celebrates the career of the Argentine artist Gyula Kosice (b. 1924, Košice, Czechoslovakia; d. 2016, Buenos Aires, Argentina), an experimental artist, sculptor, poet, and theorist. Co-founder of Arturo (1944) and Madí (1946), two constructive art groups centered in the Rio de la Plata region between Uruguay and Argentina, he was also a prominent figure in the international avant-garde after 1945. His practice introduced original artistic ideas, such as interactive sculptures, which questioned the relationship between the art object and the spectator and experimented with a wide range of materials, many of which had never been used in art before. Like Julio Le Parc and Carlos Cruz-Diez, he incorporated light and motion, yet he was one of the first to incorporate water in his works. Intergalactic focuses on his experimental production, in which motion was a constant and essential feature. It includes works he created between 1950 and 1980, such as acrylic sculptures, kinetic reliefs, and drops of water, most of which incorporated lights and were activated by aerators and motors. Photo: Santiago Orti Language and Image: Conceptual and Performance-based Photography from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection May 15, 2025–January 18, 2026 Language and Image is focused on conceptual and performance-based works in the Jorge M. Perez collection. The exhibition plays on assumed expectations of the message being delivered by the photographic image, and its ability to represent our world, while acknowledging photography’s ability to construct its own truth and reality. Language and Image will feature over 100 works exploring the creative diversity of this artistic genre from over 50 international artists based in Argentina, Benin, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain, and the United States among other countries. Mark Dion: The South Florida Wildlife Rescue Unit May 24, 2025–February 2, 2026 Mark Dion blurs the lines between reality and fiction to examine human intervention in nature. Originally commissioned by the Miami Art Museum (now PAMM) in 2006, this large-scale installation presents a mobile rescue unit—a fully equipped vehicle operated by a fictional team dedicated to saving endangered species in the Everglades. Accompanied by mannequins in uniform and a vitrine displaying conservation tools and artifacts, the installation humorously critiques bureaucratic inefficiency, while also celebrating grassroots environmental activism. With The South Florida Wildlife Rescue Unit , Dion invites viewers to reflect on the complex history of the Everglades—spanning early exploration, ecological exploitation, and contemporary efforts at restoration. Through meticulous research and an uncanny sense of irony, he questions how science, policy, and myth shape our understanding of nature. This exhibition highlights pressing environmental and social concerns, offering insight on Florida’s most fragile ecosystem. Mark Dion, South Florida Wildlife Rescue Unit: Mobile Laboratory, 2006. Elliot and Erick Jiménez: El Monte August 28, 2025–February 8, 2026 Elliot and Erick Jiménez: El Monte will be their first museum solo exhibition. Identical twin brothers, who are also a photography duo, will exhibit an entirely new body of work inspired by the spiritual tradition of Lucumí—a syncretic Afro-Caribbean religion that developed in Cuba in the late 19th century that brings together elements of the traditional Yoruba religion, Catholicism, and Spiritism—and Lydia Cabrera’s seminal text El Monte . Often referred to as “the Santería Bible,” El Monte was translated into English for the first time in 2023, giving millions more access to information about various Caribbean religions and spiritual practices. This exhibition seeks to provide that same access—emphasizing the Jiménez twins’ bicultural upbringing as Cuban Americans raised in the Lucumí tradition. Although comprised primarily of photographs, there will also be sculptural works throughout the exhibition. Elliot and Erick Jiménez. El Monte (Ibejí), 2024. Archival pigment print John Gerrard: GHOST FEED (AMAZONIA) 2 September 18, 2025–Summer 2026 GHOST FEED (AMAZONIA) 2 is a new annual solar simulation by artist John Gerrard, marking a series of departures and innovations for the artist, including his first evolved usage of artificial intelligence in the vocabulary of movements. The work centers around two central subjects: a virtual Amazonian white cheeked spider monkey with its characteristic mask-like facial markings and a videogame-like smoking rainforest in which the primate is set. The monkey is seen to perform a slow dance, whose choreography emerges from a MIDI interface allowing the artist to perform movement scores over extended periods of time. Custom AI witnesses the performance to create ever-changing, repeating iterations of the work. GHOST FEED (AMAZONIA) 2 draws on multiple traditions including the theatre of Samuel Beckett, Japanese Noh theatre, and histories of minimal techno music. Commissioned by Folkestone Triennial, UK, Thoma Foundation, USA with additional funding from The Irish Arts Council. Alia Farid: Elsewhere September 25, 2025–September 27, 2026 This exhibition marks the debut of multidisciplinary artist Alia Farid’s Elsewhere series in the United States. Consisting of 50-60 textile pieces, Elsewhere highlights the accumulative and open-ended nature of this research-based exhibition project. More than half of the works, particularly those produced inspired in the Cuban and Dominican contexts, have been commissioned by PAMM, produced specifically for this exhibition. This ongoing research project, which brings together textile-based works from Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic, maps the migration and presence of Arab cultures in the Caribbean. The works are created in close collaboration with weavers in Samawa, in southern Iraq, through a combination of flat weaving and chain stitching specific to the region. Alia Farid, Elsewhere, 2023. Woody De Othello November 13, 2025–August 30, 2026 Miami-born artist Woody De Othello presents a new series of ceramic sculptures that explore the vessel as both a functional object and a symbol of containment, transformation, and spirituality. Known for his hand-built ceramics, Othello stretches, elongates, and animates household items—radiators, chairs, and vessels—blurring the line between the animate and inanimate. His works, infused with humor and uncanniness, evoke the unseen energies that shape our daily lives. Rooted in his Haitian heritage and African diasporic traditions, Othello draws inspiration from Haitian Vodou practices, nkisi power figures, and the ritual significance of objects. As Othello’s first major solo museum exhibition in Miami, this presentation reflects his deep connection to the city and its Haitian community. Through material experimentation and sculptural gesture, the exhibition highlights the ways objects hold history, absorb meaning, and serve as vessels for spiritual and emotional experiences.
