- Arbor Residences: A Revitalized Oasis In Coconut Grove Set To Be Completed Under New Developer Isaac Kodsi
Arbor Residences, a leafy residential retreat nestled within the historic gardens of Miami’s Coconut Grove, is back on track and ready for completion. Due to financial challenges met by the previous development team, the project took a temporary pause in development. Developer Isaac Kodsi's prior experience on revitalizing stalled projects on the verge of failure and turning them into resounding successes, has given him the ability to revive Arbor Residences, infusing fresh energy into this unique project. The residences are set to launch sales in Winter 2023 with an expected delivery in Q1 2025. At the moment, Arbor Residences is 30% sold. Kodsi has selected Sandra Masis from Cervera Real Estate to lead sales for the residential development. Under the leadership of developer Isaac Kodsi, Arbor Residences is now poised for completion. Prior to purchasing the project, Kodsi performed a thorough due diligence of the building and engaged engineers to confirm that the building was structurally sound and safe for completion. Upon acquiring the project, Kodsi proceeded to fully reimburse previous buyers' deposits. "Arbor's narrative is a testament to its exceptional character, redefining the very essence of Coconut Grove living by providing expansive, eco-conscious residences at a remarkably accessible price point,” said Kodsi. “Arbor is more than a residence; it's a visionary answer to the ever-evolving Coconut Grove landscape, committed to offering a nurturing, enriching, and satisfying way of life. Our goal is for residents to find not just a home, but a welcoming haven, where they can relish in a vibrant community, live in comfort and thrive." In a neighborhood marked by grand luxury developments, Arbor Residences carves its niche in Coconut Grove with an intimate collection of 45 residences designed by local firm Behar & Font. The development provides premium living with a touch of understated luxury, celebrating the harmony between modern living and nature. Nestled in this verdant, family-friendly, and walkable neighborhood, Arbor Residences stands out as an extraordinary value proposition, with premium residences starting at $1.6 million. Inspired by the lush surroundings and the giant oak trees that define the Coconut Grove neighborhood, the residences are designed to accommodate a variety of households, with eight distinct floorplans from two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, townhomes, and penthouses. Offering an organic connection between modern living and nature, residences offer between 10–20-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, natural wood finishes, wide-plank porcelain wood-grain floors, spacious spa-inspired master bathrooms, large closets, chef-style kitchens with Bosch Appliances and custom oak cabinetry. Amenities abound, from the rooftop terrace complemented by outdoor entertainment areas such as a bar and lounging space, followed by the second floor with a pool deck area and a swimming pool, as well as state-of-the-art fitness center, 24-hour concierge service, valet, and more. - Eskape Collection: Redefining Hospitality Excellence in Miami
Eskape Collection, an independent hospitality company headquartered in Miami Beach, started after Flavio Rossato finished his first hotel in South Beach in 2013. “I was looking for a boutique hospitality management company, and I didn’t find one. Then I decided to start my own, based on my experience as a traveler and as an architect, always looking for design and great experience staying away from home,” Rossato explains. “Everything was working great and after the first hotel opened, I developed, designed and built 2 more hotels in Miami Beach.” The collection’s uniqueness lies in its approach to interiors and comfort. Rossato emphasizes, “All rooms are designed as apartments, because the idea behind is to offer a home away from home experience. I like guests to feel the spacious rooms, equipped with kitchen essentials, washer and dryer, balconies, floor to ceiling windows, and other amenities or comforts.” The interiors, curated by Rossato, have earned recognition in the boutique hotel industry. Regarding maintaining a signature style and personalized services across properties, Rossato notes, “The interiors were curated by me, and we won some recognition in the boutique hotel industry.” This attention to detail and consistency underscores Eskape Collection’s commitment to delivering exceptional experiences. However, running an independent hospitality company comes with its challenges. Rossato highlights, “First, consistency with the company’s culture to offer the same quality of service in each hotel. Associated with that and the experience we want to offer to our customers, it’s all the rest, the way we deliver the rooms, cleaning, details like welcome cards, smell, light ambience, music etc.” Overcoming these challenges ensures Eskape Collection continues to shape the future of hospitality with its innovative approach and dedication to guest satisfaction. When asked by Rossato to share other unique features of the Eskape Collection, he stated, “Firstly, we prioritize connectivity by offering fiber optics technology and lightning-fast internet connections, ensuring that guests can stay seamlessly connected throughout their stay. Secondly, we enhance interaction with guests through smartphone apps, providing a convenient platform for managing various aspects of their experience. Additionally, our commitment to environmental sustainability is reflected in our certification as green and energy-efficient hotels by OTA.” For more information, visit: www.eskapecollection.com. - Max Verstappen: “I always need to improve. And I love making a car go faster.”
Dutchman Max Verstappen, three-time reigning world champion, talks about his passion for driving and his current crushing domination of Formula 1 at the wheel of his Red Bull. It’s easy to see why he’s doing so well, after winning the first GP of the season in Bahrain and taking pole position in Saudi Arabia. Max Verstappen gave us twenty minutes to talk about his passion for driving, with a smile, on Wednesday. The three-time Dutch world champion, who obviously won the first GP of the season in early March in Bahrain, had just come out of a press briefing where he had been subjected to a barrage of questions about his father Jos’ statements to the Daily Mail and Telegraaf, predicting “an explosion” in his team if Christian Horner, the Red Bull team boss behind a complaint for “inappropriate behavior”, didn’t leave it. Christian Horner on the ropes Even then, he appeared relaxed. For this interview with L’Équipe, which had been postponed twice because of the “affair,” it had been agreed to avoid all controversial subjects. No questions about the old man, and none about the boss either. So, just as he’d set the ball rolling at his press conference by talking about the magnificent car we’d built for him, this RB20 was so innovative, we got down to the subject that the Verstappens, father and son, prefer: driving. This fascinating dive into the heart of a champion’s life, through his words, reveals the warm and endearing man described by those who know him intimately. A man of 26, different from the one we’ve become accustomed to seeing over the years, this wild, cold beast who leaves no room for improvisation or sentiment. At your press briefing, you said that you’d rather talk about your car than extrasporting problems. So, how is the RB20? It’s fine. I felt comfortable in it straight away. I’d say it was more of an evolution, an improvement on the previous car. Is it really? Despite all the changes on the outside, your driving feeling is close to last year’s? It’s even a little better, a little more natural. And that’s great. Did you feel it as soon as you got into the car during winter testing? You can never be sure from the first drive, but I could see straight away that it was well balanced and, above all, that I could set a good time straight away. That’s a sign that the car will be fast! After that, you have to know where the competition stands. We don’t know how the others have worked. Did you have the same feeling with the RB19 in early 2023? Yes, pretty much. There were a couple of things to sort out, but nothing dramatic. Of all the Red Bulls you’ve driven since 2016, is there one you prefer? The most fun were the ones from the previous generation (before the 2022 ground effect regulations). The one from 2021? Exactly (his face lights up). The car was great, it was responsive. Today, they’ve become heavy, wide and long. But do you still like them? When you’re driving the best car in the field, and it’s a Formula 1, of course (he laughs). Weren’t those 2021 cars just about the limit? Didn’t they sometimes force you to make mistakes? (He reflects.) No, I don’t think so. We managed to get the most out of it, and then there was this philosophy, this way of making it sharper (his hand mimics the plunging single-seater the way Red Bull used to design its single-seaters). I loved it. Are you having more trouble today? (He smiles.) No... I don’t mind. I can adapt. But these 2021 cars, they went faster through the slow corners, they moved better. I was having more fun. When they say you can drive any car, what would you do behind the wheel of a Haas (last year’s runner-up)? (He smiles.) I don’t think I’d win a race. Not even a podium? Normally not (he reflects). Probably not. But I’d try to do a better job than anyone else, that’s for sure. After that, if the car’s slow, it’s slow. You seem to have become unbeatable since the advent of ground effect cars. Do these single-seaters require special driving techniques and do you adapt better to them? I don’t think so. If I’m successful, it’s because I’ve got a great team around me who have built these fabulous cars. We had a bit of trouble getting back to the top with the old generation, but by 2021, we’d figured it out. And by 2022, things had improved. So, no change in style? Of course. The cars have changed, and so have the tires. But we’re adapting. In what way? The car is heavier, so I can’t rely on it as much. The tires are wider, so visibility is lower. The suspensions are so hard that we have to work on a new way of attacking the vibrators. Does this take time? Yes, a little. But it’s the same for everyone. Pierre Waché, the designer of the RB20, told us that he greatly appreciated your technical feedback, that it enabled the team to progress. What do you have to ask him today, when you crushed the first race? Every car has its weaknesses and it takes time to overcome them. In this case, we haven’t yet driven on enough tracks to tell you. Last year, it was the city circuits. This year, I’ll tell you later, but I’d say they’re details. You give the impression of always having had a steering wheel in your hands. What’s your earliest memory? (Instantly.) I was three years old and rode a minimoto. And in a car? In August 2013, in Wales, in a Formula Renault 2-liter on the Pembrey circuit. That was my first experience of single-seater racing. Something very different from karting. It took me a while to adjust my behavior and reflexes. I had no experience with tires, especially as it was raining. It was raining hard. The first few laps were a bit hard, and I had to spin a few times, but after that I had a blast. My Michelin tires are excellent in these conditions. I just loved it. Everything seems easy when you talk about driving. I was lucky enough to have a father (Jos, 52, 107 F1 GPs between 1994 and 2003) who helped me a lot and gave me lots of advice. And the best thing was to let myself go and find the limit of the car. Do you think your success can be explained by the talent or hard work you’ve put in to progress? Some people are more gifted than others. It’s the same in soccer. The first day I drove a go-kart, I smiled (his eyes sparkled). And I haven’t stopped since. The helmet (he mimes putting it on), I didn’t take it off all day. I knew that was what I wanted to do. This winter, you went GT racing with your father. Can’t you stop driving? It’s my passion. I also love the simulator. It’s important because by changing cars all the time, you can adapt more quickly to the changes in F1. I need to try things out; I always need to improve. And I love making a car go faster (he smiles). Alain Prost confided to us that his last year in F1, in 1993, was a very tense one, when he was favorite for the title with the best car in the field. Now, for your fourth title, you find yourself in a similar situation. How do you see this season? I don’t ask myself that question. If I don’t win, I look for the reason why. Is it my fault? Then I’ll correct the mistake. It’s not my fault, so I’m going to help the team improve our performance. You can never win it all. Is that why your duel with Lewis Hamilton in 2021 will surely go down as one of the greatest seasons in Formula 1 history? I know you’re not going to agree with me (he smiles). But, in my eyes, the best was last year. People only saw a one-way domination, but you don’t measure the degree of involvement of each member of the team to achieve this hallucinating result (21 wins out of a possible 22 for Red Bull, 19 for Verstappen). It’s something I’m very proud of. It must have seemed boring to some people, but I don’t care (his hands make a helpless gesture). I’m here to judge my performance and that of the team. And 2023 was the best season ever. The 2021 season doesn’t even come close.” Story by L’Équipe/TCE | Photos: Courtesy of Red Bull | © Getty Images/Red Bull Content Poo

- Kenner Launches In The U.S. With An Exciting Global Campaign Featuring Artists Anitta and Masego
Kenner is Brazil's leading premium footwear brand known for its strong cultural ties and unique design philosophy. With a strong reputation built on innovative design and vibrant collaborations, Kenner is launching in the US with an exciting global campaign featuring renowned artists Anitta and Masego. We interviewed Bernardo Cabral, Kenner’s International Marketing Manager to share more about Kenner’s big plans in the US and what’s next for the brand. Tell us about the Kenner products you’ve chosen to launch in the US. Kenner was born in 1988 with an aesthetic proposal that firmly supported its functionality and simplicity: “FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION”. And the main attribute that housed this essence was SURPRISING COMFORT. The focus on comfort hasn't changed, but we've added another layer to our design guidelines. Kenner's aesthetic today emerges from the intersection between the strange and the beautiful, generating an interest in the product. For the launch of the brand in the USA, we understood that we needed to create a clear message, to bring an archetype that had a singular and easily identifiable identity. That's why we chose the Rakka sole, one of our main products in Brazil. It is composed of three layers. The vulcanized rubber outsole ensures strong grip and durability, the Rakka Technology amplifies elevation and comfort with every step and the sanded EVA insole provides lightweight softness and spring. To offer a variety of models and occasions for use, we have brought four different products of uppers divided into 3 categories: the slides, which is a prevalent model in the US; the flip-flops, which Brazilians wear and which are the basis of our identity; and the open sneakers, more closed models that connect with the world of fashion. All of them share the Kenner twist, bringing boldness, technology, durability, and a provocative design. Can you elaborate on the significance of featuring artists Anitta and Masego, who have strong connections to both Brazil and the United States, in Kenner's latest global campaign? When we decided to introduce Kenner to the U.S. market, we recognized it would be a significant challenge. However, we were confident in the strength of the Kenner brand and the vibrant influence of Brazilian culture. Our goal was to create a narrative of cultural exchange, showcasing Brazilian heritage in a way that resonates globally, engaging people from diverse backgrounds. To achieve this, we needed partners who could act as cultural bridges, embodying and representing our heritage while introducing it to new audiences with fresh perspectives. Anitta and Masego perfectly fulfill this role. Anitta, one of Brazil's most prominent artists, has successfully taken our culture to an international stage. Masego, a world-renowned artist with a deep appreciation for Brazil, draws significant inspiration from our country. Moreover, both Anitta and Masego have a genuine connection to our brand—they have worn Kenner products long before this campaign. This authenticity strengthens the relationship and reinforces our message. We always strive for these genuine connections. How do you believe this collaboration highlights the cultural exchange between Brazil and the US, particularly in the context of music, fashion, and lifestyle? We believe in a global logic where contemporary urban cultures share similar structures but exhibit unique characteristics. These cultures constantly inspire each other and exchange ideas. Our goal is to catalyze this exchange, amplifying Brazilian street culture's voice on the world stage. In music, for example, Brazilian funk engages in a dynamic dialogue with American hip-hop and Latin American reggaeton. This cross-cultural interaction extends to fashion, art, slang, and other forms of expression. By highlighting these connections, our collaboration showcases the rich cultural exchange between Brazil and the U.S., emphasizing how interconnected and influential these urban cultures are globally. How does the campaign reflect Kenner's brand identity and values, particularly in the context of the diverse cultural landscape of Miami? Miami is a great cultural mix, with many ethnicities and communities, much like Brazil. The campaign reflects the brand's purpose: to make people enjoy doing things differently. We talk about authenticity, self-expression, and how to be proud of your trajectory. We also show a little of this mix between Brazil and the US with the aesthetic and sound references that permeate Masego and Anitta. Miami has been chosen as Kenner's headquarters. In what ways do you envision Miami serving as an ideal environment for Kenner to innovate and expand its presence in the US market and beyond? Miami is culturally closer to Brazil than many other parts of the U.S., making it an ideal environment for Kenner to innovate and expand. It has a very intense cultural life and a climate conducive to wearing sandals and open footwear all year round. Miami is going to be a great laboratory for us to test the approval of the brand and the product and think about how to take the next steps. But we're not limited to Miami, we're going to have a pop-up in NY at the end of May and other possibilities to come. What’s next for Kenner? Kenner is set to bring a fresh perspective to the market. Kenner isn't afraid to be daring, yet the brand is deeply committed to authenticity, quality, and comfort—qualities that today's consumers highly value. We recognize the charisma and strength of Brazilian culture, and presenting a new facet of this movement, along with innovative design in the street footwear category, holds immense potential. We made a powerful start with our campaign featuring Anitta and Masego, showcasing how the essence of our brand translates to the global market. Anitta, as our first global ambassador, exemplifies this vision. In addition to the campaign, we will sponsor five of her concerts on the Baile Funk Experience tour. Additionally, we're excited about our upcoming initiatives, including the NY Pop-up at Bowery Showroom and our presence in Paris this summer. And there's much more to come… By ML Staff. Scuderia SA's Tiamo Hudspeth works the ball ahead of Patton Legacy Sports' Lauren Sterr. A national 2- to 5-goal arena competition, Texas Military Polo Club LLC has proudly hosted the tournament on the club’s unique grass arena from inception in 2021. Dominating the competition in recent years, two-time defending champions (2022, 2023) Patton Legacy Sports (Lauren Sterr, Karl Hilberg, Luis Mancebo) went head-to-head against Scuderia SA (Wesley Alston, Fabian Osses, Tiamo Hudspeth*) for the coveted title. Entering the fourth and final chukker with a narrow one-goal lead, standout plays from Osses along with a Penalty 4 conversion from Hudspeth capped-off a strong offensive effort from the team in camo to capture Scuderia SA’s first Allied Services Cup 11-7. 2024 Allied Services Cup Champions: Scuderia SA - Fabian Osses, Tiamo Hudpseth, Wesley Alston. Awarding Patton Legacy Sports one goal on handicap, it was off to the races for the defending champions. PLS’ Mancebo led the way early from the field and Hilberg took command from the penalty line to establish a 13-2 lead at the half. Following a two-pointer from Leufrancois to open the second half, Mancebo continued to apply the pressure, securing Patton Legacy Sports’ spot in the Allied Services Cup final for a third consecutive year with a 20-8 victory. Patton Legacy Sports' Luis Mancebo with Visage.Jobs' Jocelyn Leufrancois at his hip. The second match of the day featured Scuderia SA against Williams Polo (Amanda Massey, Wendy Stover, Brady Williams). Alston opened a productive first chukker for Scuderia SA that included a run of four unanswered goals. Responding for Williams Polo, Stover and Massey combined to bring their team back within one at halftime. Following the break, it was all Scuderia SA, splitting eight goals between the team including a two-pointer by Osses. Matching each other with four goals apiece in the fourth chukker, Scuderia SA emerged from the fast-paced chukker earning the 19-14 victory. Following Saturday’s action, players gathered with a meal provided by Big Will’s Cajun. Bonding with his fellow competitors, Jocelyn Leufrancois reflected, “Participating in the Allied Services Cup at the Texas Military Polo Club is one of my favorite polo events of the year. It’s a fantastic mix of camaraderie, competition, and culinary excellence with the best étouffée I’ve ever had. The fun and competitive spirt of the event make it truly special.” Scuderia SA's Tiamo Hudspeth and Williams Polo's Wendy Stover. Championship Sunday pitted the two highest scoring teams of the tournament—Patton Legacy Sports and Scuderia SA. Alston once again ignited the scoring for Scuderia SA, but Patton Legacy Sports quickly answered with a goal from each player. The second chukker was commanded by Scuderia SA’s Osses and Hudspeth, bringing the challengers within one at the break. Opening the third chukker with three goals, Scuderia SA took their first lead of the match. Osses struck once more, as Mancebo kept Patton Legacy Sports within striking distance. Capping off the competitive back-and-forth match with a crucial Penalty 4, Hudspeth sealed Scuderia SA’s 11-7 triumph. Lt. Colonel Tommy Hitchcock Jr., Army Air Corps, Most Valuable Player Fabian Osses hits the neckshot with Patton Legacy Sports' Lauren Sterr on defense. Leading Scuderia SA with six goals in the final, Fabian Osses was awarded Lt. Colonel Tommy Hitchcock Jr., Army Air Corps, Most Valuable Player. Varro an 8-year-old gelding, played and owned by Tiamo Hudspeth was named Sgt. Reckless, U.S. Marine Corps, Best Playing Pony. “I purchased [Varro] from McFaddin Enterprises’ Bob McCan in Victoria, Texas, as a yearling,” said Hudspeth, “He’s my favorite in the barn and always elevates my game. He’s a horse that is a little particular to ride, but if you get on with him, he’ll give you absolutely everything. I absolutely adore this horse.” Seriously, played by Brady Williams and owned by Karl Hilberg took home Best Playing Pony Thoroughbred honors. Scuderia SA's Wesley Alston drives to goal. Earning his first Allied Services Cup title, Alston expressed, “The Allied Services tournament was one of my most anticipated of the season. We had a great team with the goal of beating the previous champs who had dominated since the inception of the tournament. Tiamo is awesome and played well, her ponies were even better, Fabian was truly the MVP of the weekend. It was unseasonably hot, but still a series of great games played by all the teams. Looking forward to next year already.” Sgt. Reckless, U.S. Marine Corps, Best Playing Pony Varro, played and owned by Tiamo Hudspeth, presented by Karl Hilberg. - Miami Dolphins Wrap Up 25th Annual Fins Weekend With World-Record Blackfin Tuna Catch
The Miami Dolphins hosted the 25th edition of Fins Weekend on May 31 - June 1, bringing together Dolphins players, coaches, alumni, cheerleaders and fans for a two-day celebration and fundraiser. This year's annual fishing tournament was highlighted by a biologist-certified unofficial world record-breaking catch of a 50.1-pound blackfin tuna, a first in the tournament's storied history, as Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Miami Dolphins head coach, Jimmy Johnson, who helped launch the first-ever Fins Weekend in 1997, was on hand to celebrate the historic feat. The festivities began Friday evening with an invite-only Captain's Reception, where tournament participants received gift bags and enjoyed light bites and drinks. The following morning, anglers were up at sunrise at the Grove Harbour Marina in Coconut Grove and took to the seas angling to capture the largest kingfish, dolphin and tuna. The tournament was directed by Jamie Bunn of Blue Water Movements. Once the lines were out of the water and the boats returned to the Grove Harbour Marina, contestants brought their hauls to the Fins Weekend weigh-in. Angler Bob Kowalski, the Sinnick family and captain Gareth Haddam of Miss Britt 34 Express set an unofficial world record when their blackfin tuna weighed in at 50.1 pounds. Pete Sinnick and his family are longtime Miami Dolphins fans from Chicago and have traveled to South Florida, chartering a boat to enter in nearly every Fins Weekend tournament since its inception. "I think I've been to 21 of the 25 years of Fins Weekend," Sinnick said. "It started with my wife and I, then it expanded to my dad and my sons. I grew up a diehard Dolphins fan and I guess I made some impressions on them to be fans as well. We started out with Manny Fernandez from the 1972 team, who is a hero of mine, on our boat years ago, and we got to know him and that was really cool." More than a dozen Dolphins players and coaches took part in this year's Fins Weekend fishing tournament, including notable veterans like defensive tackle Zach Sieler, running back Raheem Mostert and quarterbacks/passing game coordinator Darrell Bevell. The weekend culminated on Saturday evening with the Fins Weekend Night Party at Regatta Grove. More than 70 Miami Dolphins players and coaches joined participants for the festivities featuring music, live auctions and raffles that capped off with a fireworks show. The winners of the Fins Weekend Fishing Tournament also were announced, with Seapremacy taking home the first-place honors with a total of 165.9 pounds. 2024 Fins Weekend Fishing Tournament Winners Largest Kingfish: MacDaddy, 35.3 lbs. Largest Dolphin: Knot the Same, 16.3 lbs. Largest Tuna: Miss Britt Express, 50.1 lbs. First Place Finishers: Seapremacy, 165.9 lbs. Fins Weekend began in 1997 when head coach Jimmy Johnson and the organization began a fundraiser in memory of an employee, Scott Chait, who had recently passed away from cystic fibrosis. The event has supported various causes benefitting the South Florida community over the years, but the fishing tournament has remained a centerpiece throughout its history. After a three-year pause due to the pandemic from 2020-22, the event celebrated its 25th edition in 2024. "It was in Scott's vision that we wanted to do something for charity in his honor back in 1997," Johnson said. "It brings the players, coaches and Dolphins fans all together for something we love, and that's fishing. So when they asked me to come back for the 25th anniversary because I was part of the first one, I was more than happy to do it." The proceeds from Fins Weekend support the Baptist Health Orthopedic Institute Youth Athletic Outreach Program. Through this program, the Dolphins sponsor athletic trainers for youth and high school football games throughout South Florida. In addition, the program provides voluntary EKG screenings to all high school athletes in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and continuing education in sports medicine for high school athletic trainers, coaches and athletes.
