- 'Mostly Baroque' Debuts Three-Concert Festival at the Adrienne Arsht Center in 2026
'Mostly Baroque' will launch a three-concert classical music festival from February 26 to March 1, 2026, at the Carnival Studio Theater inside the Adrienne Arsht Center. The South Florida ensemble specializes in historically informed performances of Baroque composers such as Bach, Handel, Telemann, and Vivaldi. The group emphasizes the intimate scale and sound of a Baroque orchestra, using period instruments or precise reproductions. Baroque bows, gut strings, and historically aligned techniques aim to recreate the texture and clarity of 18th-century performance practice. Music Director Dr. David O. Hartman notes that the series brings together opera, oratorio, orchestral works, choral music, and solo recitals within one cohesive program. Many of the ensemble’s musicians have performed together for more than two decades, shaping what Hartman describes as a unified and seasoned artistic voice. Festival Schedule Thursday, February 26, 2026 – 7:00 p.m. Opening program featuring J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 2, 3, and 4, along with Telemann’s Don Quichotte suite. Running time: 120 minutes. Friday, February 27, 2026 – 7:00 p.m. Bass-baritone Johan Hartman performs Gerald Finzi’s Let Us Garlands Bring and Jacques Ibert’s Don Quixote songs, alongside selections from his debut EP Blood and the Moon. Running time: 60 minutes. Sunday, March 1, 2026 – 3:00 p.m. Final performance: Pergolesi’s comedic chamber opera La Serva Padrona, starring Johan Hartman and soprano Yi-Chun Sarah Tsai. The program also includes The Miami Oratorio Society performing Black spirituals by Florence Price and selected choruses from Handel’s Messiah. Running time: 75 minutes. Venue and Tickets Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House), Adrienne Arsht Center, 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132. Tickets are available at the Arsht Center website. By ML Staff. - Bidding Opens at $72 Million for Approved 82-Story Miami Development on Biscayne Boulevard
Bidding has officially opened at $72 million for a fully approved, 82-story mixed-use development site on Biscayne Boulevard, marking a rare opportunity to acquire one of the largest remaining buildable parcels in Downtown Miami. The auction is being conducted by Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions and will conclude on December 17 at Sotheby’s New York. The property, located at 340 Biscayne Boulevard and known as Regalia on the Bay, is listed at $175 million in cooperation with ONE Commercial, in association with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty. The site is zoned for a supertall luxury tower and offers significant flexibility for developers seeking to capitalize on Miami’s continued urban and waterfront growth. Designed by Arquitectonica, the approved plans call for an 82-story tower featuring 374 residential units, 120 hotel rooms, office and commercial space, and approximately 500 parking spaces. The scale and approvals place the project among the most substantial development opportunities currently available along Biscayne Boulevard. The site sits within a rapidly evolving corridor of Downtown Miami, surrounded by some of the city’s most prominent luxury developments. Neighboring landmarks include the Waldorf Astoria Residences Miami, a planned 100-story tower, as well as the Aston Martin Residences. The area has become a focal point for international investment, driven by corporate relocations, luxury residential demand, and Miami’s growing profile as a global urban center. - Designing Success: Miami’s Ann Lopez Named One of Inc.’s Top Business Leaders of the Year
Miami’s creative scene has no shortage of rising stars, but this year one designer is stepping firmly into the national spotlight. Ann Lopez , founder of the Miami-based interior design studio Studio 790 , has been named to Inc. Magazine’s highly selective Business Leaders of the Year list, placing her among the top 40 business leaders in the country and shining a bright national light on Miami’s design talent. For Lopez, whose work effortlessly merges Miami vibrancy with polished, purposeful design, the award comes alongside three Inc. Best in Business wins: Best Marketing, Best Social Media, and the coveted Business Leader of the Year distinction. It’s a major moment not just for Studio 790, but for Miami’s design community, which continues to shape national conversations around luxury, lifestyle, and creativity. Founded in 2019, Studio 790 has quickly become one of Miami’s most buzzed-about design firms, crafting spaces that feel equal parts modern, soulful, and unmistakably Miami. Its signature aesthetic—lush textures, warm neutrals, bold statements, and purposeful details—has appeared everywhere from private homes in Coral Gables to the Tulum-inspired rooftop bar at the W Miami Hotel. The firm’s residential work has been featured in Architectural Digest , HGTV Magazine , and Domino , while its commercial projects bring a fresh sensibility to hotels, restaurants, and brands looking to create experiences rather than just interiors. For Lopez, the national recognition is still sinking in. “I’m still processing this, honestly,” she said. “When you see your name on a list with people like Larry Ellison and Todd Graves, it’s surreal. But it also validates what we’re building at Studio 790 — a design firm that treats creativity like a business and business like a craft. We’re not just creating beautiful spaces. We’re building systems, strategy, and spaces that move people, move revenue, and move our clients and our team forward. That’s the bar. And we continue to exceed it.” That blend of artistry and strategy is exactly what has set Studio 790 apart. While the firm is known for its elevated aesthetic- light-filled rooms, natural textures, serene palettes, and the kind of casually effortless luxury Miami does best - it’s the brand’s deeper purpose that has captured national attention. Lopez’s mission centers on designing spaces that enhance how people live, work, gather, and thrive. “Our mission has always been clear: give everyone the opportunity to love the spaces they live, learn, play, and work in,” Lopez said. “These awards recognize that we’re not just designing beautiful rooms. We’re solving problems, elevating experiences, and helping people live and work better. And we’re doing this while running a healthy business that has a bigger purpose that goes beyond design.” Studio 790’s recognition for Marketing and Social Media reflects its authentic, community-focused presence online, where Lopez often shares behind-the-scenes looks, educational content, and glimpses of Miami life that resonate far beyond the design world. Her Project to Profits program has become a go-to resource for designers looking to build sustainable, scalable creative businesses of their own. And while the Inc. honors celebrate national excellence, Lopez sees the moment as uniquely rooted in her hometown. Miami has deeply shaped Studio 790’s aesthetic and ethos, from its multicultural vibrancy to its entrepreneurial spirit, from the city’s constant evolution to its deep connection to beauty and lifestyle. “This is about the team we’ve built and the clients who trust us with their spaces,” Lopez said. “It’s about showing up every day with excellence and integrity. And honestly? It’s about proving that you can build something meaningful while staying completely, unapologetically yourself.” As Miami continues to claim its place as a global hub for culture and creativity, Lopez’s recognition feels especially symbolic. Studio 790 represents the new Miami: stylish, entrepreneurial, confident, and expanding far beyond the city’s borders, all while staying rooted in its vibrant local identity. - Where to Find the Best Dating Sites in 2025 (and How to Pick the Right One for You)
Finding “the best” dating site sounds simple until you’re actually doing it. One app promises serious relationships, another promises “vibes,” and a third claims it can match you with your soulmate using a quiz that feels like a job interview. Meanwhile, you’re just trying to meet someone normal who can hold a conversation and shows up when they say they will. The truth is: the best dating site is rarely the one with the loudest marketing. It’s the one that fits your goals, your lifestyle, and the kind of people you genuinely want to meet. The good news is that in 2025, you have more high-quality options than ever—especially if you know where to look and what signals to trust. Start with the “big pool” sites (especially if you want more choice) If you want to know where to find the best dating sites and the highest odds of meeting someone compatible, start where the most people are. A large, active user base gives you more variety and better chances of finding a match who aligns with your preferences, location, and relationship goals. Dating.com is a strong example here—especially if you’re open to international dating or cross-cultural connections. It’s designed for people who want to meet beyond their immediate circles and explore meaningful communication with singles from different backgrounds. That broader reach is often the difference between “I’ve seen everyone in my area” and “Oh, there are actually interesting people out there.” Big pool platforms are also useful when you’re restarting dating after a breakup, moving to a new city, or simply tired of the same limited social environment. More options doesn’t guarantee better outcomes—but it does give you more shots at the right outcome. Look for sites that match your relationship intention Before you download anything, ask yourself one question: What am I actually looking for right now? Not what you should want. What you really want. If you want a committed relationship, you’ll likely do better on platforms that encourage detailed profiles, compatibility signals, and intention-setting. If you want casual dating, a more flexible app can be fine—as long as you’re honest and you filter quickly. If you want international dating, the best sites are built for long-distance communication tools and broad discovery, not just local swiping. A lot of dating frustration comes from choosing a platform whose culture clashes with your goal. It’s like going to a loud nightclub hoping to have a quiet conversation about life plans. Possible, but you’re making it harder than it needs to be. Where else to find quality dating sites (beyond “top 10” lists) Most people start with app store rankings or “best dating apps” articles. That’s not wrong—but it’s incomplete. Rankings often reflect marketing budgets, not user experience. Here are better places to look: 1) Communities and forums with real user detail Reddit threads, local Facebook groups, expat communities, and interest-based forums can be surprisingly helpful—because people get specific. You’ll see comments like “This app is great in London but dead in smaller cities,” or “Good for 30+ professionals, terrible for early 20s.” That kind of detail is gold. 2) Friends who are actually using the apps (not just guessing) A friend who last dated online in 2018 is not a reliable source. Ask someone currently active: Which app has real people? Which one feels scammy? Which one has the best conversations? You want fresh intelligence, not nostalgia. 3) Your own “two-week test” This is the most honest method: pick one or two platforms and test them for 10–14 days with intention. You’re not trying to find “the one” in two weeks—you’re checking the quality of the environment. Are people responsive? Are profiles detailed? Are conversations respectful? If the answer is consistently “no,” move on. The signs you’ve found a “good” dating site A good dating site doesn’t just have attractive people. It has the right mix of features and culture that supports real interaction. Look for these signals: Profile depth: prompts, interests, and space for personality—not just photos. Clear intention options: relationship goals, dating preferences, lifestyle indicators. Active moderation and safety tools: reporting, blocking, verification, scam prevention. Healthy user behavior: fewer blank profiles, more complete bios, more respectful messages. Balanced matching: not just endless swiping, but ways to narrow and refine. If a platform makes it too easy to stay lazy—no bio, no effort, no accountability—you’ll feel it in the conversations. How to avoid wasting time (and protect your sanity) Online dating can be fun, but it can also quietly drain you if you let it. A few practical rules help: Keep your profile “warm,” not perfect A profile should feel like you, not like a corporate personal brand. Use photos that show your real life. Write a bio that sounds like a human talking, not a checklist. “I love travel and food” is safe but forgettable. A small, specific detail works better: “I’ll judge a city by its coffee and bookstores.” Filter early, kindly, and consistently If someone’s goals don’t match yours, move on without drama. The most successful daters aren’t the ones who get the most matches—they’re the ones who don’t waste energy on mismatch. Watch for red flags that have nothing to do with romance Scams, manipulation, and catfishing aren’t about “bad luck”—they’re about patterns. Be cautious with: Immediate requests to move off-platform Financial stories, urgent emergencies, crypto talk Inconsistent details and evasive answers Refusal to do a simple video call before meeting (when appropriate) Choose platforms that fit your geography and lifestyle Some apps thrive in big cities. Others do better in specific countries or communities. If you’re interested in dating internationally, it’s logical to choose a site designed for that from the start, rather than trying to force a local-only app to do a global job. A simple decision framework that actually works If you want a clean way to decide, use this checklist: Goal: serious, casual, international, niche? Audience: are the users in your age range and location (or target countries)? Effort level: do profiles encourage depth or reward laziness? Safety: does the site feel managed and legitimate? Conversation quality: are people actually talking—or just collecting matches? If a platform fails two or more of these, don’t overthink it. Switch. “Best” is what works for you The best dating sites aren’t magical. They’re just better environments for meeting people. When you choose a platform aligned with your goals—and you show up with clarity and a little patience—you dramatically increase your odds of finding someone who fits. Start with platforms that have real scale and real communication tools ( Dating.com is a strong option if international dating is on your radar), test quickly, and don’t stay loyal to an app that isn’t giving you good outcomes. Your time is valuable. Your energy is more valuable. Use both like they matter. By ML staff. Images courtesy of Bazzom Group.
- Acqua di Parma Unveils Antelao: Italian Elegance in Miami
This holiday season, Acqua di Parma brings the spirit of the Italian Alps to Miami with its new Antelao Holiday Collection 2025 , now available at the Acqua di Parma boutique in Brickell City Centre and online at neimanmarcus.com . Inspired by the majesty of Mount Antelao in the Dolomites , the collection captures the essence of alpine beauty, warmth, and Italian craftsmanship—reimagined through contemporary design. Created in collaboration with Milanese architect and designer Cristina Celestino , Antelao transforms traditional alpine materials and techniques into modern objects of art. Drawing from hammering and brushed finishes once used in mountain woodwork and metalwork, Celestino transposes these tactile textures onto ceramic—an homage to the alpine stube, or mountain hearth. The result is a series of sculptural pieces that celebrate both heritage and innovation, turning the holiday season into a multisensory experience. At the heart of the collection are limited-edition Masterpieces —refillable porcelain fragrance bottles in shades inspired by the Dolomites: Blu Fedaia, Verde Cembro, Rosso Tovel, Giallo Cima, and Bianco Dolomia. Complementing them are candles and diffusers in seasonal scents like Bosco (fir and clove), Torrone (pistachio and nougat), and Panettone (citrus and vanilla). Each vessel features brushed porcelain and engraved wooden lids, blending craftsmanship with elegance. Completing the line, the Art of Living range introduces collector’s pieces such as the Alpine Holiday Advent Calendar and a handcrafted Chess Set made of Canaletto walnut and cherry wood. From the snowy peaks of the Dolomites to the refined energy of Miami, Acqua di Parma’s Antelao Collection embodies timeless Italian artistry—where design, fragrance, and celebration meet in perfect harmony. - A Simple Guide to Creating Your Own Custom Tote Bag for Miami Events and Local Brands
Miami is a city filled with color, culture, and constant movement. From art walks and music festivals to small-business pop-ups and community events, there’s always something happening. For many local creators and brands, custom tote bags have become one of the easiest ways to stand out. They’re practical, beginner-friendly, and simple to design – even if you’ve never created merchandise before. This guide breaks down how anyone in Miami can create a custom tote bag that fits the city’s vibrant style and meets event or branding needs. What Makes Custom Tote Bags Ideal for Miami Events Tote bags work well in Miami because they suit both the climate and the lifestyle. They’re lightweight, roomy, and fit everything from sunscreen and water bottles to event materials or small products. At festivals, markets, or corporate gatherings, guests appreciate receiving something useful rather than a disposable giveaway. For brands, tote bags also offer visibility. When attendees walk through neighborhoods like Wynwood, Coconut Grove, or South Beach carrying a branded bag, it gives the event or business natural exposure in a simple, non-promotional way. This combination of practicality and visibility makes totes one of the most effective items for Miami gatherings. Why Design Matters When Creating a Miami-Style Tote Miami’s visual culture is bold: bright colors, tropical shapes, art-inspired patterns, and expressive typography are all part of the city’s identity. A good tote bag design doesn’t have to be complicated, but it should reflect some aspect of the event or brand personality. For inspiration, many creators look at Miami’s diverse art and design history. From Art Deco architecture to modern street murals, the city offers countless visual ideas. Even for beginners, starting with a simple color palette or icon that represents the event theme – such as palm trees, waves, sunbursts, or bold geometric shapes – can create a tote that feels instantly connected to Miami. How to Choose the Right Materials and Style Not all tote bags are the same. For Miami’s warm climate and outdoor events, materials like canvas or cotton tend to be the best choices. They’re durable, breathable, and comfortable to carry for long periods. When choosing the style, consider: Handle length: Shoulder-length straps are best for all-day events. Bag size: Medium or large totes offer enough room for event giveaways, brochures, or small purchases. Color: Neutral colors (white, beige, black) make artwork stand out, while bright colors can match Miami’s energetic vibe. If you’re designing for a business, think about how the tote will be used: retail shops may want a sturdy everyday bag, while event organizers may prefer something lighter for quick distribution. What Steps You Need to Create Your Custom Tote Bag Creating a tote bag is easier than most people expect. A simple step-by-step approach works well for beginners: Start with a clear purpose. Is it for branding, an event, or retail? Create or upload your design. Even a simple logo or symbol can be effective. Choose your materials and colors. Match them to your brand or event theme. Select printing or embroidery. Printing is great for bold designs; embroidery adds texture and durability. Order a test sample. This helps you check colors, size, and overall quality. Place your main order. Make sure quantities match your event attendance or business needs. For those new to custom merch, online platforms such as vivipins make the entire process easy by allowing users to upload artwork, preview designs, and order in the quantities they need. What Custom Tote Bags Can Do for Local Brands and Creators Custom tote bags do more than carry items – they help share stories. Small businesses, independent artists, and event organizers often use them to highlight their values, artwork, or culture. In Miami, where community and creativity are strong, a custom tote bag can help build recognition and connection. Whether used at local markets, art shows, fitness events, or product launches, custom tote bags serve as a simple way for people to engage with a brand. They’re practical enough for everyday use yet meaningful enough to become a reminder of a favorite event or local business. Final Thoughts As Miami continues to grow as a hub for culture, entrepreneurship, and design, custom tote bags will remain a staple for events and local brands. Their simplicity, usefulness, and creative potential make them one of the easiest ways to stand out in a city where visual expression is part of everyday life. For creators, small businesses, and first-time designers, custom tote bags offer an approachable path into custom merchandise – one that fits perfectly with Miami’s colorful, expressive identity.
