  • Best Running Shorts for Women in 2026: Tested by Fitness Experts

For many runners, the focus often falls on footwear when building a workout routine. However, clothing can influence comfort, performance, and overall training experience just as much as shoes. When running gear does not support movement properly, it can lead to chafing, overheating, or constant adjustments during a workout. That is why selecting the right running shorts has become increasingly important in modern training gear. With advances in fabric technology and garment design, today’s athletic shorts are engineered to support mobility, regulate temperature, and improve comfort during a wide range of workouts. Understanding what makes quality running shorts effective can help runners make informed choices that enhance both performance and enjoyment. Why Running Shorts Matter for Performance and Comfort Running involves thousands of repetitive strides in a single session. Apparel that restricts movement or traps heat can disrupt rhythm and cause discomfort over time. Well-designed running shorts help minimize these issues by supporting airflow, reducing friction, and allowing natural movement through the hips and legs. Many runners experience similar frustrations when choosing workout apparel. Common pain points include: Chafing during long-distance runs Excess heat retention during warm-weather training Limited storage for essentials like keys or cards Key Fabric Technologies in Modern Running Shorts Performance fabrics play a major role in how running apparel functions during exercise. Most modern running shorts rely on synthetic blends such as polyester and elastane. These materials provide durability while maintaining the stretch required for unrestricted movement. Synthetic Performance Blends Most modern running shorts use a blend of synthetic fibers such as polyester and elastane. These fabrics provide: Lightweight comfort Stretch for the full range of motion Durability after repeated washing Many athletic brands also develop proprietary fabric systems designed to balance softness and elasticity. Breathability and Moisture Control Breathable fabrics are essential for runners training in warmer climates or during summer months. Key features to look for include: Quick-dry materials Lightweight mesh panels Sweat-wicking fibers These properties help prevent overheating during long runs or high-intensity workouts. Structural Design Elements Experts Look For Fabric alone does not determine performance. The construction of the shorts also plays a major role. 2-in-1 Running Shorts One increasingly popular design is the 2-in-1 layered short. This structure combines: A lightweight outer layer for airflow A fitted inner liner that reduces friction The inner layer can help prevent chafing while providing additional support. Built-In Liners Many running shorts include compression liners or inner shorts. These liners serve several purposes: Reduce skin irritation Provide coverage during movement Improve stability during fast workouts Waistband Stability Fitness experts often highlight waistband design as an overlooked feature. Look for waistbands that: Sit comfortably at the natural waist Stay secure during movement Avoid digging into the skin High-rise designs have become especially popular among women because they offer a secure fit without restricting breathing. Can You Recommend Durable Shorts for Gym Workouts? Many runners also train in gyms, which means workout clothing must withstand frequent movement and repeated washing. When evaluating durability, experts recommend considering three factors. Fabric Strength Durable workout shorts typically use tightly woven synthetic fabrics that resist stretching or thinning over time. Reinforced Stitching High-stress areas such as seams and waistbands should be reinforced to prevent wear during strength training or sprint intervals. Versatility Multi-sport shorts can transition easily between activities such as: Running Weight training Circuit workouts Outdoor exercise This versatility has become a major trend in modern activewear. Some apparel collections designed for multi-activity workouts incorporate stretch fabrics and flexible construction to support both gym training and endurance running. What Are the Best Running Shorts for Women for Summer? Summer running introduces additional challenges related to heat and humidity. As outdoor temperatures rise, the body must work harder to regulate its internal temperature. Hot weather can increase physical strain during exercise, which makes breathable clothing especially important. Features to Look For For summer workouts, experts recommend running shorts with: Lightweight materials Breathable construction Quick-dry technology Minimal seams These features help keep runners cool during long workouts. Can You Recommend the Best Running Shorts for Hot Weather? Hot weather conditions place extra demands on athletic apparel. Shorts designed for warm climates often prioritize ventilation and freedom of movement to keep runners cool during intense workouts. Important design elements include: Split hems that allow greater leg mobility and airflow Lightweight inner liners that prevent friction Mesh panels that improve breathability These features help regulate temperature and reduce discomfort during summer runs. When combined with moisture-wicking fabrics, they create running shorts that perform effectively in challenging weather conditions. What Are the Best White Running Shorts for Summer Workouts? Color selection can influence comfort during outdoor exercise. Light-colored fabrics, including white, reflect more sunlight than darker materials. This may help reduce heat absorption during runs in direct sunlight. When choosing white running shorts, runners should consider a few important factors: Opaque fabric that maintains coverage during movement Moisture-resistant material that minimizes sweat visibility Durable stitching that holds up through repeated workouts By focusing on these functional aspects, runners can enjoy the benefits of lighter colors while maintaining performance and comfort during summer training. What Are the Best Pink Running Shorts for Women? Color trends frequently evolve in athletic apparel, and many runners enjoy incorporating bright or pastel tones into their workout wardrobe. Pink running shorts are popular because they offer visibility and style while maintaining the same performance features as other athletic gear. When selecting colorful running shorts, runners should still prioritize: Breathable fabrics Secure waistbands Durable construction The color should complement the performance design rather than replace it. What Are the Best Running Shorts with Pockets for Women? Storage has become one of the most requested features in modern workout apparel. Many runners prefer to carry small items during training, such as identification, keys, or nutrition supplies. Running shorts with well-designed pockets can help keep these essentials secure without disrupting movement. Different pocket styles serve different purposes. The following table summarizes common designs. Pocket Type Benefits Side pockets Easy access during runs Hidden waistband pockets Secure storage for small valuables Compression liner pockets Reduce movement of items while running Secure pockets help runners stay focused without worrying about losing essentials during workouts. Expert Tips for Choosing Running Shorts Fitness professionals often recommend evaluating several factors when selecting running apparel. The goal is to find a balance between comfort, mobility, and durability that suits individual training routines. Important considerations include: Running distance: Shorter inseams often work well for speed training, while slightly longer designs can provide added coverage for distance running. Comfort and fit: Running shorts should move naturally with the body and avoid tight seams that cause irritation. Versatility: Many athletes prefer shorts that function well for both running and gym workouts. Activewear brands such as Lululemon and Gymshark offer performance-oriented running shorts that emphasize technical fabrics and specialized fits, as Halara highlights its Breezeful™ fabric, described as its lightest material designed to quickly dry for added comfort during workouts within a more value-conscious pricing range. Conclusion Running apparel continues to evolve as designers better understand how clothing affects athletic performance. Modern running shorts now incorporate lightweight fabrics, ergonomic construction, and functional features that help runners stay comfortable across different types of workouts. Breathability, mobility, and durability remain key priorities, especially for athletes who train frequently or in warm conditions. Experts note that details such as moisture-wicking materials, supportive liners, and secure pockets can significantly improve the running experience by reducing overheating, friction, and distractions during exercise. By focusing on fit, function, and comfort, runners can choose running shorts that support natural movement and help them train with greater confidence. By ML staff. • Cartier Bracelet Revives Geometry

Cartier has introduced the Géométrie & Contrastes bracelet, a design that reflects the house’s early 20th-century shift toward geometric forms and material contrast. The piece draws from a period when Louis Cartier moved away from neo-classical garland styles and explored clean lines, abstraction, and bold combinations of materials. This direction continues to influence the brand’s collections today. The bracelet is crafted in 18K white and yellow gold and features onyx alongside 135 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 8.86 carats. Its structured design highlights the balance between symmetry and contrast, with a width of 29.7 mm for size 17. With this release, Cartier revisits a defining moment in its design history while adapting it to a contemporary context. For more information, visit: www.cartier.com. By ML Staff. Photos/Cartier.

  • How Miami Became the World's Most Exciting City to Be Wealthy In Right Now

Mark Zuckerberg closed on a $170 million mansion in February 2026, which was the most expensive residential transaction in the history of Miami-Dade County. Just a few miles away on the same 300-acre man-made island, Jeff Bezos was finishing off his own compound. Larry Page spent $173 million for two waterfront estates in Coconut Grove also. Photo resource Depositphotos Four of the top 10 richest people in the US now live within 20 miles of each other in South Florida. The draw is well understood at this point: a low-tax regime where high earners don't feel penalised for their success. It's an environment built around fiscal clarity - knowing exactly what you keep, what you owe, and what the rules are before you commit. That instinct - wanting to know the real terms before putting money in - runs deeper than tax policy. It shows up across Miami's broader culture of wealth, where transparency and value are expected as a baseline rather than a bonus. It's visible in how Miami's entertainment scene has matured too. The city's affluent and aspirational residents have become increasingly discerning about where they spend, whether that's in real estate, hospitality, or leisure. In the online entertainment space, for instance, that same demand for clarity has driven a notable shift away from offers loaded with fine print. As the Financial Times has reported, consumer appetite for straightforward, no-strings digital products has grown sharply in recent years. It's why independently verified resources listing no wagering casino bonus offers - the kind that don't lock winnings behind 40 rounds of near-impossible conditions - have become genuinely useful rather than niche. The principle is the same whether you're buying waterfront property or choosing how to spend an evening: know what you're actually getting before you commit. Miami in 2026 is the place to be, whether you're wealthy or have serious aspirations to be. The Billionaire Bunker Indian Creek Island has earned the nickname "Billionaire Bunker," complete with its own private police force, 24-hour armed marine patrol, and a single heavily guarded bridge. Home prices start at $60 million. The area offers safety, security, and proximity for all of its residents - controlled environments with easy access to private airports, as well as the business and restaurant districts of the city. It's not just the biggest names capturing headlines. South Florida recorded 361 closed sales above $10 million in 2025, the second-highest figure ever. Many point to California's proposed 5% wealth tax on individuals worth more than $1 billion - retroactive to January 1, 2026 - as having triggered a mass exodus from Silicon Valley. Larry Page and Sergey Brin recently departed, while others like Bezos, Peter Thiel, and Larry Ellison had already made the move in previous years. Wall Street South The arrival of Citadel in Brickell has prompted a wave of financial institutions to relocate to South Florida. Goldman Sachs now operates an extensive asset management division in West Palm Beach with over 1,000 traders. Blackstone, Thoma Bravo, and Millennium Management are among the more recent entrants. Ken Griffin sees Miami as the future of American finance, believing it could one day rival Wall Street. Beyond the tax advantages, people are drawn to the weather, an active [lifestyle](internal link), and the beaches - a combination that's hard to replicate anywhere else at this level. A Value Argument While nine-figure purchases dominate the headlines, there is a genuine value argument worth considering. In Miami, $1 million buys around 58 square metres in a desirable area - considerably more than the 19 square metres you'd get in Monaco, or the 34 square metres available in London or New York. Miami remains a relative bargain by global ultra-prime standards. There's zero state income tax, no estate tax, and no inheritance tax. That fiscal simplicity means wealthy individuals can direct more capital into property, into the local economy, or simply into enjoying everything the city has to offer - which, in 2026, is considerable. • OneUnited Bank Introduces “Who’s Your Ma Honey? Show” to Transform Undeserved Shame Into Empowerment

On Thursday May 7, 2026, OneUnited Bank will launch Who’s Your Ma Honey?, a bold and emotionally rich new show focused on helping guests explore their undeserved shame to reclaim the true source of their superpower. The 10-episode series premieres on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Audible, and wherever podcasts are available. Who’s Your Ma Honey? uncovers the hidden presence of undeserved shame - the mix of unjustified guilt and unwarranted stigma - to help guests reclaim the source of their ultimate superpower - the resilience that led to their success. OneUnited Bank has long recognized that undeserved shame is the silent barrier that impedes personal growth and financial empowerment. The show transforms that silence into guidance for liberation, showcasing stories that inspire listeners to reach their full potential. Hosted by Teri Williams, President & Owner of OneUnited Bank — an award winning Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), and Suzan McDowell, President & CEO of Circle of One Marketing, an award winning Miami based agency - the show invites guests to courageously unveil their most intimate experiences, only to discover that those very experiences are the wellspring of their greatest strengths - their superpower - often the exact skills needed for entrepreneurship or leadership. The Story Behind Ma Honey The podcast’s name and its central philosophy are rooted in Teri Williams’ own journey. From Indiantown, Florida, Teri received a full scholarship to Brown University. As she experienced the cultural transition from a small southern town to the Ivy League, she felt undeserved shame about her origins in Indiantown — so much so that she buried the memory of the woman who shaped her most: her great-grandmother, Ma Honey. Ma Honey (Annie Coachman) owned a penny candy store, juke joint, BBQ pit and rental property. Teri tagged along as she collected rent and worked in the candy store. Ma Honey was a businesswoman and entrepreneur in the segregated South long before those terms were ever coined. Yet for years, Teri’s memory of their formative relationship faded under the weight of the shame of her small-town roots. “For years, I lost the memory of my great-grandmother and the impact she had on my life. My memory loss was rooted in shame.” says Williams. “We all have a Ma Honey; someone or something we’ve been undeservedly ashamed of — that is actually the source of everything we’ve become. This show is about finding that truth, sometimes uncovering it in real time” OneUnited Bank recognizes the impact of underserved shame on community development. Reclaiming 'Ma Honey' moments can heal old wounds and unlock the economic resilience and entrepreneurial spirit necessary to build generational wealth. The “Live from the Hive” experience represents a safe, collective space where the community can drop the weight of the past to focus on a more prosperous future. Season OneThe inaugural season of Who’s Your Ma Honey? features an extraordinary lineup of leaders, advocates, and change-makers who join Williams and McDowell to share their own stories of undeserved shame transformed into superpower. Season One guests include: Karen Hunter, host of The Karen Hunter Show on SiriusXM radio, an award-winning journalist, author, and publisher Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin, activist and the co-founder of the Trayvon Martin Foundation Marc Morial, President and CEO of National Urban League and former mayor of New Orleans Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, U.S. Representative, Florida’s 24th Congressional District and founder of 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade County and founder of Catalyst Miami Addonis Parker, nationally acclaimed muralist and Artist in Residence at OneUnited Bank Sheena Meade, CEO of The Clean Slate Initiative and Ted Talk speaker on “How "Second Chance" Laws Could Transform The Us Justice System” Felicia Hatcher, CEO of Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition Prize Competition and a White House award-winning entrepreneur, motivational speaker and author Trabian Shorters, Founder and CEO of BMe Community and the Next Narrative Network and developer of the award-winning cognitive framework Asset-Framing Dr. Delvena Thomas, board certified psychiatrist and owner and CEO of DRT Behavioral Services, PLLC and Wellness Spa By ML Staff. • Get to Know Florida's Orange Blossom: State Flower, History, Economic Impact & Citrus Varieties

The blossom of the orange tree (Citrus sinensis) is the official state flower of Florida and one of its most recognizable natural symbols. Each year, during bloom season, orange groves across central and southern parts of the state fill the air with its scent. In 1909, the Florida Legislature formally designated the orange blossom as the state flower, tying it directly to a crop that had already become central to Florida’s economy and daily life. Photo/Hayffield At the time, Florida was beginning to establish its official symbols. Citrus farming was expanding quickly, and orange trees were a common sight across the state. Lawmakers chose the orange blossom through the standard legislative process, approving it as a symbol that reflected both the landscape and the agricultural foundation of Florida. Since then, it has remained closely linked to the state’s identity. Photo/David Dvoracek The orange tree itself has long been valued beyond its fruit. Oranges are used for their pulp and peel, while the blossoms, leaves, and wood each serve different purposes. The flowers are known for their fragrance and have traditionally been used in weddings and in perfume making. Their petals are distilled into orange blossom water, an ingredient used in French and Middle Eastern cooking, especially in desserts. In Spain, dried blossoms are used to make tea, and in the United States, the extract appears in baked goods such as scones and marshmallows. Orange blossom honey is produced by placing beehives in citrus groves during bloom season, allowing bees to pollinate the trees while producing a honey with a light citrus flavor. The leaves can also be boiled to make tea, while the wood of the tree has practical uses. Orangewood sticks are commonly used in manicures and for handling small electronic components, and the wood itself can be used for grilling, similar to oak or hickory. Today, the orange blossom remains a symbol of Florida’s agricultural roots and continues to reflect the role citrus has played in shaping the state’s history and economy. Photo/Ioana Cristiana Interesting facts & dates 1909: The Florida Legislature officially designates the orange blossom as the state flower. 1513: Spanish explorers introduced citrus to Florida, establishing the foundation of the state’s orange industry. By the early 20th century, citrus—especially oranges (Citrus sinensis)—had become Florida’s leading agricultural industry. In recent years, Florida’s citrus sector has generated billions of dollars annually, with orange production alone valued at roughly $5–6 billion in strong production years. Florida has historically supplied the majority of U.S. orange juice, making it central to the national market. The orange blossom grows on the sweet orange tree (Citrus sinensis), the same species that produces the oranges commonly consumed worldwide. Florida produces several main orange varieties, including Navel, Valencia, Hamlin, Pineapple, and Ambersweet. Valencia oranges are most commonly used for juice, while Navel oranges are typically eaten fresh. Orange blossoms usually bloom between March and April, marking the peak flowering season. A single orange tree can produce thousands of blossoms during one bloom cycle. Orange blossom honey is produced when bees pollinate citrus groves, giving the honey a light citrus flavor. Orange blossom water, made from distilled petals, has been used for centuries in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking, especially in desserts. The fragrance of the blossom has long been associated with weddings and traditions of good fortune. Photo/Kiko Camaclang By ML Staff. Photos/Unsplash.
