Discover the New Wave of Sake: Try American-Made Oishii this World Sake Day - October 1st



Most people associate sake with Japanese food - either a sake bomb on a night out with friends or an expensive bottle at a high-end sushi restaurant. American-made Oishii Sake is aiming to disrupt that connotation. 


Oishii is the fresh face of sake that’s making waves with its bold statement: ‘Sake, not just for sushi anymore™’. Miami founder Buzzy Sklar launched Oishii, hoping that consumers would pair it with everything from pizza to tacos to steak. This innovative, freshly launched brand is setting out to revolutionize how we experience sake with its blend of authentic Japanese craftsmanship and American ingenuity. 



Oishii sake is crafted using pristine Blue Ridge Mountain water and premium Titan rice from a single-origin farm in Arkansas and then brewed in Charlottesville, Virginia. It’s wallet-friendly too, with a suggested retail of $29.99. The brand launched with two iterations of Oishii: cloudy and clear. 


  •  Cloudy Oishii Nigori: This variety is a delightful, lightly sweet sake with tantalizing notes of banana and melon, perfect for those who love a smooth, fruity profile.

  • Clear Oishii Sake: Crisp and refreshing, with subtle hints of pear and melon, this sake is an elegant choice for any occasion.



Oishii directly translates to “delicious” and can be enjoyed on its own or in a cocktail. World Sake Day is coming up on October 1 and enjoying brand-new Oishii is the perfect way to celebrate!


Consumers can enjoy Oishii out and about throughout Miami, including at top sushi spots like Makoto and Ke-uH (located inside Acqualina Resort), the sake bar Shōjō's Dojo and neighborhood joint Bob’s Your Uncle. 


For those looking to hone in on their bartender skills, they can pick up a bottle and make a cocktail at home. The Lychee Sakatini™ and Samurai Spritz are the perfect place to start. 


Lychee Sakatini™


  • A refreshing Lychee Sake Martini blending the delicate flavors of Oishii Sake with sweet lychee and a hint of lemon. Perfect for any occasion.


  • Ingredients:

    • 2 oz Oishii Sake

    • 1 oz Lychee Liqueur

    • 1 oz lychee juice

    • .5 oz fresh lemon juice

    • Ice cubes

    • Whole lychee fruit or lemon twist for garnish


  • Directions: 

    • Prepare the Glass: Chill a martini glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Optionally, rub a lychee or lemon wedge around the rim of the glass.

    • Mix the Drink: In a cocktail shaker, add 2 ounces of sake, 1 ounce of lychee liqueur, and 1 ounce of lychee juice. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice (about 0.5 ounces). Fill the shaker with ice cubes. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.

    • Serve: Remove the martini glass from the freezer. Strain the mixture from the shaker into the chilled glass.

    • Garnish: Garnish with a whole lychee fruit or a lemon twist.

    • Enjoy: Sip and enjoy your elegant and refreshing Sake Lychee Martini!



Samurai Spritz


  • A vibrant Samurai Spritz blending Oishii Clear Sake and a splash of orange. Perfect for a refreshing and elegant drink.


  • Ingredients:

    • 3 oz Oishii Clear Sake 

    • 1 oz Chinola Mango Liqueur

    • Top with bubbles of your choice

    • .5 oz fresh orange juice

    • Ice cubes

    • Orange slice for garnish 


  • Directions:

    • Prepare the Glass: Fill a wine glass with ice cubes.

    • Mix the Drink: In the glass, add the Oishii Clear Sake, Mango Liqueur, and fresh orange juice. Top with sparkling water or club soda. Stir gently to combine.

    • Garnish: Garnish with an orange slice.

    • Enjoy: Sip and enjoy your vibrant and refreshing Samurai Spritz!
