As an LGBTQIA+ activist and bombastic fashion icon with a cult following of over 10 million followers on Instagram, Ilirjani was the star of the House of Mua Mua fashion protest on November 29, 2022 in South Beach. It marked the second annual fashion protest walk and bus ride during Art Basel Miami Beach, but the 2022 edition was the one that had Ilirjani as the star of the show. Elton opened the fashion protest with a megaphone, chanting coy phrases like “I want a sugar daddy with a big banana,” and “No money, no honey,” while wearing a custom House of Mua Mua piece that reads “Sugar Daddy” on the front, and “Marry Elton” on the back. This sparkly, sequin attire with a bridal-like tulle trail is part of the brand’s collaboration between Ilirjani and the House of Mua Mua’s creative director, Ludovica Virga. Learn how to make perfect soft-boiled eggs — plus, the best ways to enjoy them! Perfectly cooked soft-boiled eggs have a just-set white and a warm, jammy yolk. They are wonderful over salads and ramen, and they also make a lovely breakfast nestled in an egg cup with toast soldiers on the side. Unlike hard-boiled eggs, which are started in cold water and brought to a boil, soft-boiled eggs are dropped into boiling water and gently boiled until done. This method allows for precise timing to achieve a perfectly-set white and slightly runny yolk every time. For the most consistent results, I recommend using cold-from-the-fridge large eggs, which take exactly 6½ minutes minutes to cook. For smaller or larger eggs, the cooking time will need to be adjusted by a minute or so in either direction. HOW TO MAKE SOFT-BOILED EGGS Bring a saucepan (large enough to hold the eggs in a single layer) of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Using a slotted spoon, gently lower the cold eggs into the water one at a time. Cook for exactly 6½ minutes, adjusting the heat as necessary to maintain a gentle boil. Meanwhile, fill a bowl with cold water and some ice cubes. When the eggs are done cooking, transfer them to the water and chill until just slightly warm, about 2 minutes. Use an egg shell cutter or sharp knife to remove the tops and serve in egg cups. (This egg cup and cutter set is similar to the one I have.) If you don’t egg cups but would like to serve the soft-boiled eggs this way, you can also use shot glasses. Alternatively, the eggs can be peeled and sliced in half. To make toast soldiers, cut off the crust from thick-sliced bread, and toast until golden. Slather the toast with butter and use a serrated knife to cut into thin sticks (or “soldiers”). The internationally acclaimed Jazz in the Gardens Music (JITG) Festival marks its 16th annual “sweeter level” celebration of Black music and culture with an electric artist lineup of award-winning R&B, neo-soul, reggae and gospel artists, including Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Jodeci, Ari Lennox, El Debarge, Sean Paul, Mike Phillips, the Adam Blackstone Experience, and a special soulful Sunday performance by Chandler Moore, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard and Pastor Mike Jr. The two-day, weekend festival will return to the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, March 11th and Sunday March 12th, 2023. Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade will once again host its highly anticipated 56th Annual Golf Classic in Memory of Charles “Bebe” Rebozo on Monday, March 13, 2023, offering players the chance to play for fun or at a competitive level. Fun on-course contests, exciting raffle prizes, lunch, open bar and a dinner banquet with an award ceremony are all included with the purchase of a foursome or sponsorship package, starting at $2,750. Proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s services and programs at its five Clubs which provide mentoring, educational after-school programs, homework assistance, tutoring, athletic programs and seasonal camps for area youth who need them the most.
