- Natuzzi Italia Brings Puglia to Miami with Immersive Art Installation & Ecological Message
Natuzzi Italia , a global leader in design and luxury furniture, transformed its Miami showroom yesterday with PUGLIA LOVERS , an event that celebrated art, culture, and environmental awareness. The centerpiece of the event was Mediterranean Scrub: A Journey Between Memory and Ecological Transformation , a striking installation by Italian artist Agostino Iacurci. The initiative was part of Natuzzi’s Open Art Project, a platform showcasing cross-disciplinary artistic collaborations displayed alongside the brand’s signature furniture pieces. Iacurci’s installation invited visitors into a sensory exploration of the Mediterranean landscape. A stylized olive branch adorned the showroom’s façade, serving as a symbolic gateway into a space imbued with memory and transformation. Inside, suspended canvases nearly nine feet tall depicted black silhouettes of Mediterranean flora—borage, strawberry tree, poppy, and nettle—reflecting Iacurci’s childhood memories of southern Italy. Through the use of humble materials like light textiles and paint, the installation evoked both the fragility and resilience of the Mediterranean ecosystem. Artist Agostino Iacurci (courtesy of Natuzzi) The artwork also addressed the devastating impact of Xylella Fastidiosa, a bacterial disease that has ravaged olive trees in southern Italy. In collaboration with Save the Olives, a non-profit dedicated to combating this epidemic, Iacurci emphasized the need for urgent environmental action while celebrating the enduring cultural identity of Puglia. Complementing the event, Alcova Miami will present Puglia Contemporary Land from December 3–8. This curated exhibition, organized by the Puglia Region and Pugliapromozione Regional Tourism Board, will highlight Puglia’s evolving cultural identity through contemporary furniture, artisanal craftsmanship, and design innovation. Featured works include ceramics, textiles, frescoes, and design pieces crafted from local stone and olive wood. Since its founding in 1959, Natuzzi Italia has exemplified the essence of Italian design and craftsmanship. The company continues to honor its heritage through initiatives like PUGLIA LOVERS , blending tradition with global engagement to promote sustainability and cultural preservation. By ML Staff. - Francesca Eastwood on Legacy, Acting, and Her Latest Projects
In this exclusive interview, Miami Living spoke with Francesca Eastwood, daughter of legendary actor and director Clint Eastwood, about her flourishing career in film and television. Francesca stars in the recently released Warner Bros. film Juror #2 , directed by Clint Eastwood and co-starring Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette. She also portrays WWE Hall of Famer Mae Young in Queen of the Ring . In this conversation, Francesca shares insights into these projects, her acting process, and how she balances her career with personal life. Interview by Markin Abras | Photos by Jonny Marlow Miami Living: Your father, Clint Eastwood, is a legendary figure in film. How did growing up with him influence your decision to pursue acting, and what key lessons did you take from him? Francesca Eastwood: I’ve always had a profound respect for filmmaking and have considered acting to be an art form. I believe that love and admiration came from growing up on set with my parents. Maybe I would have fallen in love with cinema later on or still aspired to be an actress, but having parents in the industry made it something I understood and believed I could do from a very young age. ML : How was it working on Juror #2 with your father? Can you share some insights into your role and what drew you to this project? Eastwood: Well, I think it’s beautifully simple that what drew me to the project was getting to work with my dad. It didn’t feel like work; it just felt very homey and comforting to me. I’ve always loved my dad’s work, and he’s been so supportive of me working in his domain. It was a nice feeling to be professional for a minute together. ML: You’re also starring as WWE Hall of Famer Mae Young in Queen of the Ring . What were the biggest challenges of embodying such a trailblazing figure in wrestling history? Eastwood: The biggest challenge for me was the thought of wanting to capture what she was like and do her justice to the millions of people who love her. She is an absolute icon, and there are so many people who know not just her career but her personally. I was just hoping I could do something that wouldn’t bother them. It was a bit of a spiritual practice. I always wanted to play someone who really existed and tell true stories, and this was my first time fulfilling a long-time dream. I did a lot of praying to her and about her. ML: With Mae Young’s incredible career spanning eight decades, how did you approach preparing for this role, especially given her significance in the wrestling world? Eastwood: After reading the book Queen of the Ring , I watched as much footage of Mae as I could get my hands on and listened to the extensive interviews she has given. I felt the responsibility of playing her along with the gift of her enduring career and fame. There was an extensive amount of material for me to dig into. On paper, on camera, and microphone, she left a handful compared to other women of that time. She truly is in her own league. ML: What was your experience like working with such a talented cast in Queen of the Ring , including Emily Bett Rickards, Marie Avgeropoulos, and Walton Goggins? Eastwood: Emily was the leader of the pack on and off camera. Marie is now one of my best friends. Walton Goggins was a dream come true. ML: You’ve recently starred in several thrillers, such as Clawfoot and Running on Empty . What is it about the thriller genre that captivates you as an actress? Eastwood: I never look at a project as a thriller or genre. I just look at the character and try to create that as best I can and let it go. The great thing about working on so many thrillers is that, exclusively on a thriller, once you have your character in you, it’s a lot simpler because there’s so much going on in the script that all you have to do at those heightened moments is be there. ML: You’ve appeared in a range of genres, from thrillers to indie films. How do you approach selecting the roles you take on? Eastwood: I used to look at things more long-term and strategically, but now I mostly use my intuition. ML: You’ve had notable roles in both television, like Twin Peaks and Fargo , and film. Do you have a preference between the two mediums, and why? Eastwood: Both film and television have been good to me, so I could never choose a favorite. I appreciate the difference between the two. Both are fulfilling in different ways. ML: In addition to acting, you’ve also modeled for major brands like L’Oréal and Too Faced. How do you balance your modeling career with your acting projects? Eastwood: I do whatever I have time for. If the time can’t be made or it’s too much of a struggle, I’ll let one go. Prioritizing what’s most important and not forcing things is as important as chasing a dream. ML: When you're not in front of the camera, what are some of the things you enjoy the most in your personal time? Eastwood: My greatest joy is my son, who is 6. My life with him I consider to be the only thing that will ever be close to perfection. We went horseback riding. I like to read. The Unbearable Lightness of Being is what I’m about to finish as soon as I’m done with this interview. I love resting and being lazy if I truly have a moment alone. I think it’s underrated, doing nothing—how nice and quiet that is. Connect with Francesca: instagram.com/francescaeastwood . By ML Staff. Interview by Markin Abras. Photos/Jonny Marlow
- Finster & Keenan Dominate At The Senior Four-Ball
Mike Finster and Brian Keenan captured the 2024 Senior Four-Ball Championship at the Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes in convincing fashion after the two combined for rounds of 64-64--128, en route to a 5 shot victory. After severe rainfall and multiple hurricanes had pushed back the 2024 Senior Four-Ball Championship nearly two months from its originally scheduled date, a field of 42 teams converged on The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes. The team of Mike Finster & Brian Keenan started the week hot and never looked back on their way to a 5-shot victory. In Round one, the two would birdie three of their first four holes to jump out to an early lead, a lead they never gave up. Turning in 32, they birdied four holes on the back nine to post an opening 8-under 64 and hold the overnight lead by 2 over 3 teams at 6-under par. In Tuesday’s final round, Finster & Keenen would see their lead shrink to one after a few early pars, but a bounce back eagle at the Par-5 fourth would get their lead back to two and never closer for the remainder of the round. Six birdies in the last 12 holes gradually grew their lead, eventually capturing their 5-shot victory. Chad Ibbotson & Chad Frank fired rounds of 66-67--133 and finished in a tie for second with the team of Rod Bayliss & Steve Revere who had rounds of 67-66-133. The three time champions, Don Whittemore & Pete Williams had rounds of 68-67135 to finish fourth and Bart Abstein and Billy Lodise rounded out the top-5 at 70-66-136. By ML Staff. - Safe Iron Infusion for Pregnant Women: All You Should Know
During pregnancy, iron is vital since it supports the higher blood flow required for the mother and the developing child. Some pregnant women, however, suffer from iron deficiency anemia, a disorder in which iron levels are excessively low and causes weakness, tiredness, and other health problems. Sometimes oral supplements might not be sufficient to restore iron levels; in these circumstances, iron infusions become a safe and efficient course of treatment. This article will discuss iron infusion during pregnancy, their advantages, and pertinent issues to guarantee the health of mother and child remain intact. What is an Iron Infusion? An iron infusion—which uses an intravenous (IV) drip—delivery of iron straight into the bloodstream. Those who need a quick increase in their iron levels or find it difficult absorbing iron via oral supplements are sometimes advised this approach. Maintaining appropriate iron levels is essential during pregnancy to prevent anemia, which can lead to problems like low birth weight, preterm birth, and developmental problems for the baby. Pregnant women with severe anemia or who cannot accept iron pills because of side effects including nausea, constipation, or gastrointestinal pain can find iron infusions very helpful. An iron infusion gives faster and more effective absorption by avoiding the digestive system, so enabling the body to rapidly replace its iron reserves. The Importance of Iron During Pregnancy Because the body needs more of this vital mineral to generate hemoglobin , the protein found in red blood cells that delivers oxygen, pregnancy greatly increases a woman's demand for iron. To sustain the higher blood volume and oxygen supply required during pregnancy, both the mother and the child rely on good iron levels. Symptoms of iron deficiency could include dizziness, shortness of breath, and excessive tiredness. Untreated, iron deficiency anemia can compromise the mother's health and cause problems for the infant including low birth weight, premature labor, and delayed development. A safe and efficient approach to treat or prevent anemia is an iron infusion, therefore guaranteeing a healthy pregnancy for the mother and the kid. Image by s_l / Adobestock Benefits of Iron Infusions for Pregnant Women For pregnant women especially those with severe iron insufficiency or trouble absorbing oral iron supplements, iron infusions provide numerous important advantages. These advantages consist in: Faster Absorption and Results An iron infusion provides iron straight into the bloodstream, allowing for quick absorption unlike oral supplements, which can take weeks or months to replenish iron levels. Faster outcomes help pregnant women with severe anemia since the body can rapidly use the iron to generate more red blood cells and increase oxygen flow. Fewer Gastrointestinal Side Effects From oral iron pills, many pregnant women have constipation, nausea, or vomiting. Iron infusions minimise the risk of side effects by avoiding the digestive tract and still supply the required iron. Iron infusions are therefore a great choice for women who cannot take oral supplements during pregnancy. Improved Energy and Well-being Pregnancy anemia can produce great tiredness, which makes daily chores more difficult for expectant women. Many women say they feel more energized and less tired days following an iron infusion since their body begins to create more red blood cells to more effectively supply oxygen. Reduced Risk of Complications Untreated anemia can cause preterm birth and developmental problems in the infant as well as pregnancy difficulties. Restoring normal iron levels with an iron infusion helps pregnant women lower their risk of these issues, therefore guaranteeing a better pregnancy and a safer birth. When is an Iron Infusion Recommended? Usually advised when a pregnant lady has been identified with iron deficiency anemia unable to be sufficiently controlled with dietary supplements are iron infusions. An iron infusion could be required in some cases including: Severe anemia not responding to oral iron Inability to tolerate oral supplements due to gastrointestinal side effects Late pregnancy anemia requiring a rapid boost in iron levels Chronic conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or celiac disease that impair iron absorption Doctors at Nuffield Medical or another healthcare facility will usually run blood tests to evaluate your iron levels and see whether an iron infusion is required before suggesting one. Depending on the iron needed, the operation normally takes thirty minutes to an hour and is safe. What to Expect During an Iron Infusion Under physician direction, an iron infusion is a straightforward outpatient operation. You will be booked for treatment at a clinic or hospital after your doctor has confirmed an iron infusion is required. An IV drip is used for the infusion; iron is straight injected into your bloodstream. Usually lasting 30 to 60 minutes, the operation is watched extensively for any negative effects. Common adverse effects could be a metallic taste in the mouth, headache, or minor vertigo, but they often go away rapidly following the therapy. Depending on the degree of your shortage, several infusions over time may also be required to completely restore iron levels. Image by Tima Miroshnichenko / Pexels Long-term Health Considerations While keeping healthy iron levels following therapy is equally crucial, iron infusions are a very successful way to treat iron shortage during pregnancy. Frequent blood tests taken during pregnancy can help to check your iron levels and guarantee that they stay within a healthy range. A diet high in iron-rich foods including lean meats, leafy greens, and legumes can also help your iron storage and lower your future deficiency risk. Healthcare professionals at Nuffield Medical attentively assist pregnant women to guarantee they receive complete treatment throughout their pregnancy, including iron injections as needed. This proactive strategy guarantees the best potential outcomes by helping to protect mother and fetal health. Conclusion Offering faster absorption, less side effects, and better energy levels for pregnant moms, iron infusions are a safe and effective approach to treat iron deficiency anemia during pregnancy. Talk to your doctor about whether an iron infusion is the best course of action if you have anemia symptoms including severe tiredness or dyspnea. A good pregnancy depends on maintaining appropriate iron levels, hence iron infusions offer a quick and dependable way to restore your iron levels and lower your risk of problems. A healthy pregnancy depends on your body having the iron it needs, regardless of whether you are in your first trimester or almost at delivery. By ML Staff. Images courtesy of Adobestock & Pexels

Living in Miami offers so many perks—the sun, the beaches, the lifestyle. Eco-conscious living doesn’t mean a total life overhaul or jumping on every green trend; it’s about making meaningful changes that fit right into your day-to-day. Let’s dive into some eco-friendly hacks that can help Miami women live their best, most sustainable lives—while keeping it easy, stylish, and totally Miami. How Can We Make Beauty Routines More Eco-Conscious? Starting with the essentials, let’s talk beauty. Miami women know that looking good and feeling fresh doesn’t need to come at the planet’s expense. Think about swapping out disposable beauty products for sustainable versions. The easiest move? Opting for reusable makeup removers. Unlike single-use wipes, these can be used over and over, saving both money and waste. Just a quick wash, and they’re good to go again. When it comes to skincare, many sustainable brands offer eco-friendly packaging and cruelty-free options. But here’s a twist: many of your everyday beauty essentials could be made at home. DIY face masks with simple ingredients like avocado, oatmeal, and honey not only cut down on packaging waste but are super gentle on your skin. Even when it comes to our hair routines, consider investing in shampoo and conditioner bars. These solid options not only last longer than their bottled counterparts but also eliminate the need for plastic entirely. And with Miami humidity being a thing, your hair will thank you for choosing products with more natural ingredients that keep it looking fabulous. What About Fashion? Can We Be Stylish and Sustainable? Fashion can be eco-friendly, even in a style-centric city like Miami. It’s not about sacrificing personal flair; it’s about adding a touch of mindfulness. Thrift shopping is huge, and Miami has a solid vintage scene with shops offering everything from high-end labels to everyday chic pieces. Buying second-hand not only reduces demand for fast fashion but also helps you score unique finds that set you apart from the crowd. On those days when you want to shop new, look for brands that prioritize sustainability. Many companies are now transparent about their supply chains and use organic or recycled materials. And if you haven’t yet heard, high waist period underwear is comfortable and gives you serious peace of mind. Not only is it sustainable, but it also means fewer single-use products each month, adding another small win to your eco-friendly journey. Consider building a capsule wardrobe. Start with a few versatile pieces that mix and match well for any occasion. This approach minimizes the need for excessive buying and helps you define your unique Miami style—without a constantly rotating closet. Less waste, more style. How Can Food Choices Be Better for the Planet? As you begin your wellness journey , one major area to consider is your food. Miami’s food scene is incredible, with countless options that cater to every craving. But making small changes can make a big difference. Think local—shopping at farmers' markets not only supports small businesses but also cuts down on the carbon footprint associated with food transportation. Plus, you’re getting the freshest produce, which often tastes better too. Embrace plant-based meals a few times a week. Going vegetarian or vegan even one or two days can reduce your carbon footprint in ways that add up over time. Many Miami restaurants already feature delicious plant-based options, so dining out doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor. Try meat alternatives at your favorite spots, or experiment with plant-based recipes at home—especially dishes inspired by Miami’s Latin American flavors that make going meatless more enjoyable. Reducing food waste is also crucial. Plan meals to use up what’s in your fridge, and get creative with leftovers. Composting is a game-changer if you have the space. It transforms kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich soil, perfect for a garden, even if it’s just a balcony herb garden. Can Daily Routines Be Greener Without Extra Effort? Small tweaks in your daily life can make a huge difference. Start with your coffee habit—switching from disposable cups to reusable ones not only reduces waste but also keeps your drink warmer. Some local Miami coffee shops even offer discounts if you bring your own cup, which is a great perk! Think about energy consumption at home. It’s easier than you’d expect to make your space more eco-friendly with a few small changes. Start with LED light bulbs, which use less energy and last longer than regular ones. And don’t forget to unplug chargers when not in use; those little things add up. Another simple hack? Go for a reusable water bottle. Not only is it more eco-friendly, but it’s also a Miami essential for staying hydrated in the heat. Stainless steel or glass bottles keep your water cool longer, so you can stay refreshed while cutting out plastic waste. You can even add a slice of lemon or cucumber for a spa-like touch to your daily hydration. What About Transportation? Can We Reduce Our Carbon Footprint in a Car-Centric City? In Miami, transportation can feel tricky. But being eco-friendly doesn’t mean giving up convenience. One of the easiest steps is carpooling . Many women already carpool with friends or coworkers to get around, but making it a regular part of your commute can really cut down emissions over time. Another option? Embrace biking or walking when possible. Miami’s got plenty of bike paths, especially near the beach and through downtown areas. It’s not only great for the environment but also doubles as a workout, which we know is always a plus. Electric scooters are another popular choice for short trips, offering a low-emission way to get around town without the hassle of parking. Public transport can be a fun, stress-free alternative too. Miami’s Metrorail and Metrobus systems reach many parts of the city, and it’s a great way to avoid traffic and reduce your carbon footprint. Plus, you get to kick back and relax on the ride, which is a small perk we could all use. The Little Changes Add Up Making these eco-friendly swaps might seem small on their own, but they’re part of a much bigger picture. Each step helps protect Miami’s beautiful environment, from its sandy beaches to its lively cityscape, allowing everyone to enjoy it for years to come. By adopting just a few of these hacks, you’re not only cutting down on waste and emissions but also creating habits that make you feel good about the impact you’re having. Living sustainably isn’t about being perfect; it’s about making conscious choices that fit into your lifestyle. So why not try one or two of these changes today? You’ll feel more connected to the community, more mindful of your impact, and ultimately, you’ll feel like you’re living your best, most eco-conscious Miami life. By ML staff. - Luxury Living: How to Live Beautifully While Managing Disabilities
Just because you have a disability doesn’t mean your life has to end. And it doesn’t mean you have to compromise some of the things that make life happier and more exciting. You can in fact live beautifully while managing your disability and have a full and eventful and fulfilling life. Being disabled doesn’t have to get in the way like it used to. Instead, life can be a wonderful experience full of big moments, memories that will last forever, and deep meaningful connections. Accessible Design Times have changed in the ways that we handle disabilities. Not only are there new standards and ways for you to qualify for Connecticut disability support, but accessibility doesn’t have to feel cramped and out of place and awkward like it used to. Today’s homes are vastly different from the ones that were built generations ago and that is definitely helpful for those with disabilities. Ramps and grab bars don’t stand out anymore and they can blend into their surroundings and even look good. In fact, they can even be trendy! These days, designers are finding ways to add accessibility into homes in a way that is aesthetically pleasing and of course very functional too. Here is a good example of that: today, ramps are able to be matched with outdoor environments as well as interior design. And today’s modern bars located on the walls above stairs work as towel racks but also stylish additions to bathrooms too, which turns them from only practical to ultra chic. They look and work great, plus they will definitely catch the eye of your guests. Floor Plans And what about floor plans? How can they help as well? Open floor plans are celebrated for their openness, obviously, and are also essential when it comes to crafting handy and appealing accessible areas, especially for those who have disabilities. These kinds of designs allow for easy and simple movement for anyone who is using a wheelchair, walker, or cane. They give plenty of space to roam around and a whole lot of comfort and safety too. And now think of how great a home will feel with those alongside kitchen cabinetry that can move up and down all because of the simple tap of a button. Together, this makes a space where independence is always possible but people can still enjoy the comforts of a high-end home. You don’t have to sacrifice anything just because you are disabled. Some of the old challenges that have always gotten in the way of true accessibility, like staircases for example, are changing too and they are also becoming more accessible to today’s disabled residents. Did you know that elevators are now more cohesive and accessible? It’s true. As well, today’s style of stairlifts come with rail designs that improve the overall look and functionality of a home. These additions seamlessly blend into modern living spaces with upholstery, finishes, and controls. Today’s Tech Smart home technology is everywhere and it’s actually one of the major selling points for a lot of today’s homes. It has totally and deeply changed the ways that accessible living is handled. Disabled people are now able to customize their homes through the use of voice-controlled systems that take total control of lighting, temperature, and even security. No matter what sort of task needs to be done, it can be tackled through the use of smart tech, which is crafted with disabled people in mind. State-of-the-art appliances like fridges and stoves assist with certain mobility problems while still maintaining a level of luxury and efficiency. Stovetops, ovens with side-opening doors, and certain shelving units located in refrigerators let anyone achieve high-end, state-of-the-art cooking. But technology and especially smart tech has moved beyond simple appliances and they now also include design choices like hydrotherapy tubs that come with adjustable jets and chromotherapy lighting. Conclusion When it comes to living well, you do not have to be excluded simply because you have a disability. Now more than ever before, you can still enjoy the life and home you have and you can be just as productive and functional as someone who has never suffered a disability. You should never let your disability hold you back and the way that houses are made now means that you can still enjoy luxurious living even when you are getting by with a disability. By ML staff.
