  • How to Grow Wealth in Miami

Discussions of the "perfect life" often include wealth as a crucial component. For many, getting rich is a life goal, driving them to invest time, energy, and effort. Over the last decade, Miami’s wealth-friendly tax policies attracted a notable influx of the wealthy. Living in one of the top four U.S. cities with the highest concentration of millionaires naturally inspires the desire to join their ranks. But the question is how, given that only a few succeed? Our findings suggest that while it takes time, growing wealth in Miami is achievable. Photo by yanivmatza/pixabay The Road to More Wealth The hard truth is that there is no silver bullet to get rich. If it were that easy, everyone would make a fortune. Despite this, many promise precisely that: get rich quickly, with relatively no work. The rule here is to be wary of such claims. In these cases, only one person gets rich — whoever exploits the hope or desperation of others while lining their own pockets. Commit to earning over time and think more realistically and frugally. The chances will be in your favor, and fortune will follow. Read our tips below to pave the way. 1. Don't Leave Your Finances to Chance If you want to get and keep money, you must closely examine your financial situation. You can only work on growing your wealth if you have a complete overview of your finances. The rule is: start as early as possible. Getting rich takes time. Don't put off your finances; take care of them now. If you only start in your mid-40s, you'll be missing out on a good 20 years that you could have used to exponentially grow your bank balance. 2. Be Patient and Think Long-Term Research has shown that people with a high starting capital and those who regularly invest small sums can become millionaires. If you invest your money regularly over the long term and benefit from capital gains, dividends, and the compound interest effect, you can already build up a considerable sum. Bonus: If you are living in a city with many tax advantages , you will get to keep the profits in your pocket. 3. Build Up Several Income Streams A secure job with a good salary is important and the first step if you want to become rich. Even better is additional income which you can achieve by receiving money from various sources. This could be a second job that you take on or self-employment that you pursue alongside your job. The extra effort is not easy, but if you want to have more than everyone else, you must be willing to do more. 4. Make Smart Investments You won't get rich by simply putting your money in a savings account with no significant interest. You have to let it work for you. The rule is: never put all your eggs in one basket. Rather, look for a broad, safe investment strategy. Stocks and ETFs are popular investment options that pay off long-term with proper risk management.  Digital currencies have also gained popularity as an attractive way to diversify investments. Miami’s Mayor, Francis Suarez, namely “the crypto mayor” has gone so far as to launch MiamiCoin in 2022, a city-specific cryptocurrency to generate revenue for local projects. Even celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Ashton Kutcher, and Björk have openly said they invested in cryptocurrencies. You, too, can easily buy, sell, and trade digital currencies on a trustworthy and legal crypto trading platform . There are many ways to explore and invest in this fast-growing sector.  5. Meet the Right People Miami is a global hub for the rich, and connecting with the right people can be a powerful way to grow wealth. The city is famous for its luxury lifestyle and hosts prestigious events like Art Basel  and exclusive yacht shows, where you can rub shoulders with industry leaders, investors, and influencers.  Photo: Alax Matias/Pexels Money Opportunities in Miami Miami is a city of opportunity, home to the world's most wealthy. Real estate investments, side hustles, and entrepreneurial ventures are just a few of the avenues you can explore. Here’s how to build wealth in this dynamic city. 1. Invest in Real Estate Miami consistently ranks among the most promising real estate markets globally. Investing in vacation rentals, especially in areas of high demand like South Beach or Brickell, can generate a good income.  2. Start a Business in Tourism or Hospitality This city is a tourist spot, meaning millions of people come from different parts of the world to visit the area every year. Opening a business in the tourism or entertainment industries can be very lucrative. Miami's vibrant nightlife can be used to your advantage to operate a small event business on the side if you are intimidated by owning a full-scale business. 3. Work in Tech The tech scene is ablaze in Miami, with plenty of startups and tech firms moving into the city. You can take advantage of this by offering services like app development, digital marketing, or web design. If you have the right skills, you can work for a tech startup, or create a blockchain project.  4. Find Side Hustles If extra money is what you are after, then Miami has many side-hustling options to get you busy, including walking dogs and driving tourists around town. In addition, you can earn passive income from renting out a spare room through Airbnb during major events like Art Basel or the Miami Music Festival. 5. Transition to a High-Paying Profession Real estate, investment banking, law, and health care are the main employment sectors for high-earning professionals in Miami. Some of the jobs in these industries come with six-figure salaries and substantial bonuses. If you're aiming for a high-income career, transitioning to these professions may be ideal. Photo by Kaboompics.com/pexels Wealth-Building Opportunities Are Limitless Miami offers lucrative opportunities to those looking to grow their financial assets, but the journey requires strategic planning. With its booming real estate market, tax advantages, and vibrant business landscape, the city is welcoming to investors and entrepreneurs. For those seeking multiple income streams, investing in the stock market and crypto can generate returns. However, experts warn against taking on excessive risk. With a solid financial plan — ideally created with the help of a financial advisor — you can understand your resources and be prepared for the worst-case scenario.  By ML Staff.

  • The Renowned Spanish Lawyer Susanna Antequera Opens an Office in Miami (USA) as a Consulting Advisor for Companies

Susanna Antequera, one of the most prominent family law attorneys and a corporate advisory board member, has just opened a new office in Miami (Florida). Madrid, October 2024 - Susanna Antequera, one of Spain's most prominent Family Law attorneys and Corporate Advisory Board members, has just opened a new office in Miami, Florida. Accredited as one of the top 50 advisors by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Susanna Antequera also has significant experience in Spain as a family lawyer and legal counsel for high-profile entrepreneurs and public figures for nearly a decade. She is also a member of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Women Leaders of the Americas, which strengthens her commitment to female leadership and the representation of women in the international business sphere. With the opening of this new office, Antequera now operates three offices, with her main headquarters in Barcelona (Plaça Francesc Macià 5 Pral. 1a) and services also offered in Madrid (Velázquez, 10, 1st floor). In this new U.S. branch, Antequera will bring her extensive knowledge and network of contacts as an external advisor to companies based in Miami, as well as established firms seeking to internationalize from Spain and other parts of Latin America. As she explains, “My role is consultative, meaning the goal is to guide and advise a company's Board of Directors and Management Committee with non-binIding recommendations. The Advisory Board is made up of independent professionals—whom I also form when necessary—who have no prior connection to the company and, of course, are free from emotional ties. This ensures that participation is neutral and objective, adding extra value that can make a difference in achieving excellence. As an Advisory Board member, as in my case, the aim is to build a distinguished corporate reputation and guide the company towards good governance." MIAMI: AN EXCELLENT STRATEGIC HUB CONNECTING THE U.S. AND LATIN AMERICAN MARKETS After exploring the international market and handling several matrimonial cases involving business owners and partners, as well as some related to Miami-based companies, Antequera found that the city has become a significant hub for international trade, connecting North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America. However, she also noticed a concerning trend: many companies, particularly family-owned ones, lacked proper protocols and processes, which could be detrimental in cases of divorce, potentially jeopardizing the legacy for their children or the founder's hard-earned work. Moreover, many companies do not have advisory boards, which complement the board of directors by providing external strategies and vision. Miami’s strategic location makes it an ideal spot, which is why Susanna Antequera has chosen to establish her third office here, seamlessly connecting with different markets and offering unique business strategies as an Advisory Board member. Her new office, located in the exclusive financial and business district of Brickell, is equipped with modern infrastructure and the latest technology. All this while maintaining her focus on female leadership. "The time has come to accelerate inclusive feminism, which is much needed in businesses. We must not delay implementing the much-desired balance, which will help companies achieve excellence," says Susanna Antequera. She adds, "CEOs must understand that this is not a battle between men and women. The real competition should take place in the marketplace, differentiating ourselves from others and positioning the company within a broad spectrum based on proper ethics and responsible corporate governance." A SPECIALIZED AND PRESTIGIOUS PROFILE Antequera is part of the exclusive list of Spain’s Top 100 Women Leaders 2024 in the category of Advisors and Independent Professionals. She was also accredited among the top 50 Advisors certified in Catalonia by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce (Women's Observatory, Economy and Business). In 2020, she was nominated for the Excellence in Legal Practice Award by Economist & Jurist, Spain's leading legal magazine. She holds an Executive MBA from EAE Business School in Barcelona, a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, and a Master’s in Commercial and Civil Mediation. She is also certified as an Internal Auditor in Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC). Her extensive expertise focuses on implementing processes and protocols to prevent future problems and solidify good corporate governance policies, ensuring that family businesses endure through the generations while maintaining the founder’s values. • Miami’s Luxury Market: How Businesses Are Catering to High-Net-Worth Individuals

Miami has always been a top spot for luxury living, attracting high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) from all over the world. Now that Florida is the #1 destination for HNWIs , Miami’s sunny beaches, lively nightlife, and mix of cultures create an appealing lifestyle for wealthy residents and visitors. Miami Beach, Photo by Adam Thomas/Unsplash As more affluent people choose to live in Miami, local businesses are changing what they offer to match the unique tastes of these clients.  How Businesses Are Serving High-Net-Worth Clients Businesses in Miami are changing fast to keep up with the needs of HNWIs, and it’s having a big impact. These clients want unique, personalized experiences, so companies are getting creative and offering more high-end services.  This shift has helped businesses make more money and opened up new opportunities across different industries. Here are a few ways they’re serving these high-net-worth individuals: Personalized services : Businesses are providing special experiences, like private shopping sessions and custom travel plans, to match the unique tastes of their wealthy clients. Luxury real estate: Real estate companies are building high-end homes and offering top-notch services, including private tours and help with moving for wealthy buyers. Exclusive events : Many businesses are organizing private events, such as fancy dinners, fashion shows, and art exhibits, to attract and entertain high-net-worth individuals. Premium retail : Luxury brands in Miami are creating custom products and offering one-on-one customer service, like personalized tailoring or special items that aren't sold to everyone. This focus on high-end clients is reshaping business strategies and generating substantial economic growth, with ripple effects that are felt throughout Miami’s economy. Photo by Luke Schobert /Unsplash How High-Net-Worth Individuals Are Driving Miami’s Growth HNWIs are having a big impact on Miami’s economy. Their wealth is pouring into the city, especially in areas like real estate, hospitality, and luxury services. As more rich people move to Miami or spend a lot of time here, the demand for high-end products and services has shot up.  Here's how they're making a difference in Miami’s growth: Real Estate Investment HNWIs are investing a lot in luxury properties, which is causing a boom in Miami’s high-end real estate market. This influx of money has led to new construction, higher property values, and more job opportunities. Tourism and Hospitality Miami is a hot spot for luxury travel. It attracts rich tourists and giving a boost to the hospitality industry. Upscale hotels, fine dining restaurants, and luxury experiences are doing well as HNWIs look for exclusive ways to relax and enjoy their time. Business Development Many HNWIs aren’t just shoppers; they’re also entrepreneurs and investors. Their wealth is going into local businesses helping to grow the economy and diversify what Miami has to offer. Job Creation The demand for luxury services—from personal concierge services to custom wellness experiences—has created numerous jobs. Local businesses are expanding to cater to the unique needs of wealthy individuals, contributing to employment opportunities. Philanthropy and Cultural Influence Wealthy individuals often give back to the community by supporting cultural institutions in Miami, such as museums, art galleries, and charities. Their donations help enrich the city’s culture and boost the economy through events and fundraisers. The presence and spending power of HNWIs are transforming Miami into a hub for luxury living and high-end business, ensuring sustained growth for the city’s economy. Photo by Steele Rutherford/Unsplash Why HNWIs Are Relocating to Florida High-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) are increasingly choosing to relocate to Florida, and several factors are driving this trend.  No State Income Tax : One of the main reasons is the state's lack of a state income tax, which allows affluent residents to keep more of their earnings. This financial advantage can significantly impact their wealth over time, making Florida an attractive place to live. Asset Protection Laws : These laws help safeguard wealth from creditors and lawsuits, providing peace of mind for wealthy individuals. This legal framework is particularly appealing to business owners and entrepreneurs who want to protect their investments and assets. Rising Taxes : Moreover, rising taxes in states like New York and California are pushing many wealthy individuals to seek more favorable tax environments. With increasing costs of living and higher tax rates elsewhere, Florida stands out as a financially savvy choice. The combination of no state income tax, robust asset protection, and a more favorable tax climate makes Florida a top destination for HNWIs looking to preserve and grow their wealth while enjoying the benefits of a sunny lifestyle. Conclusion Miami is changing as it attracts high-net-worth individuals. The city is adapting to meet their unique needs, boosting the economy and redefining luxury living.  As it grows, Miami strengthens its status as a premier destination for the elite. • Ruinart’s Iconic Address at 4 Rue Des Crayères Unveils Its Stunning Metamorphosis

Ruinart has been actively engaged with trends that have shaped Champagne and the world for generations. Now the House’s iconic address at 4 RUE DES CRAYÈRES has transformed into a unique destination that transcends a rich legacy, opening an exciting new chapter in the art of hospitality Following three years of renovation, the historic address invites Champagne lovers and visitors avid for compelling experiences to immerse themselves in a world where culture, art de vivre and unrivalled winemaking expertise blend together.  A timeless and contemporary space for conversations, 4 RUE DES CRAYÈRES embodies the forward-thinking vision of founder Nicolas Ruinart. More than a simple tour, visitors discover a 360-degree immersion into the Ruinart universe. Honoring heritage while resolutely engaging with the future, the address reflects Ruinart’s art of cultivating the harmony between tradition and modernity.   For this metamorphosis of its iconic address, the storied Champagne house called on Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, interior designer Gwenaël Nicolas and landscape artist Christophe Gautrand. Together, they have created a memorable experience that unfolds in a succession of interconnected tableaux, perspectives and landscapes. A resolutely contemporary pavilion in ashlar masonry and glass has emerged facing the 100-year old building. Surrounded by a free access sculpture garden – designed as a haven for local biodiversity – 4 RUE DES CRAYÈRES proposes a sensorial immersion inspired by champagne.  Visitors enter 4 RUE DES CRAYÈRES as if taking a hidden path that seems carved out of the limestone walls, initially encountering only the dazzling white of chalk, the blue sky and splashes of green from the tops of the trees. Initially hidden, the edifice and its sleek lines gradually comes into view. The curves of the new building contrast elegantly with the straight lines of the historic structure. For the Nicolas Ruinart pavilion, architect Sou Fujimoto has imagined a space inspired by the evanescence of champagne bubbles, sculpted by light as the glass panel of the fourth wall opens into the court of honor.    The building’s main structure in ashlar masonry resonates with the facing 19th century walls. The asymmetric roof traces a curve, evoking the roundness of champagne bubbles. Once inside, visitors find themselves in front of an immense bay window that sets off the view of the courtyard of honor like a picture frame. The gradient of the glass from transparent to subtly opaque again imparts an impression of sparkling champagne, transforming the view of the historic site into a timeless image.   The interior design by Gwenaël Nicolas is like a prolongation of the exterior vegetation. Visitors stroll on to discover the carrousel and a display of champagnes for sale, as well as the Bar by Ruinart, a perfect spot for contemplation with a terrace overlooking the gardens. The gardens have been designed as a sanctuary for local biodiversity, surrounded by a sculptural garden that landscape artist Christophe Gautrand has conceived as an experience in itself. The landscaped garden, designed to welcome works in the space, is open to the public at no charge.  ML Staff. Content/image(s) courtesy of LVMH
