  • Coconut Grove Gets a Flavor Upgrade: Mae’s Group and Ariete Hospitality Group Debut Three New Concepts

Coconut Grove’s restaurant landscape is evolving again with three new hotspots. This fall,   Mae’s Group   and Ariete Hospitality Group   are teaming up to open very different, but equally buzzworthy , spots: Chuggie’s, Mae’s Room and Drinking Pig BBQ. Think: nostalgia, smoke and cocktails all within a few steps of each other. Burgers With a Side of Nostalgia Chef Michael Beltran digs into his Miami roots with Chuggie’s , a playful burger joint named after his childhood nickname. With $8 burgers, crispy fritas, juicy chicken sandwiches and swirl cones of soft-serve, it’s designed to feel fun and familiar. Even kids get their own Happiest of Meals, complete with fries, a drink and a prize. Patio seating on Fuller Street makes it the perfect hangout for families, teens and longtime locals. Barbecue Finds a Home What started as a pop-up phenomenon is now here to stay. Chef Raheem Sealey’s Drinking Pig BBQ  finally lands a permanent 1,600-square-foot home in the Grove. The menu blends soulful American barbecue with Caribbean twists of brisket, ribs and Sealey’s signature cornbread. It’s more than a restaurant; it’s a space where friends and neighbors gather over food cooked with heart and heritage. Cocktails Out of Your Living Room Inspired by Mae, a Bronx-born artist and hostess, Mae’s Room  is an intimate cocktail lounge with midcentury flair. Hospitality pro Tom Lasher-Walker leads the bar, delivering perfectly made martinis, daiquiris and old-fashioneds. Guests can order bites from Chuggie’s, making it a seamless spot to sip and snack. By day it’s a chic after-work hideout; by night it becomes the Grove’s new cocktail party. Together, these three openings will create over 40 new jobs and infuse Coconut Grove with fresh energy. It’s a trio that proves the neighborhood can be nostalgic, soulful, and sophisticated all at once, while staying true to its community spirit. By ML Staff. • LOUIS XIII Unveils Art de la Table Collection: Exclusive Interview with Global Executive Director Anne-Laure Pressat

Beneath Miami’s golden sunshine, a plate takes center stage—not just any plate, but one from the LOUIS XIII Art de la Table Collection . Much like the city itself, where light and warmth elevate every experience, these plates are designed to transform dining into something new. The collection is introduced as an extension of the legendary cognac ritual, moving beyond the glass to embrace the full dinner table in a symphony of heritage, craftsmanship, and timeless artistry. For over a century, LOUIS XIII Cognac has been synonymous with prestige, shared at historic tables from Versailles to the Ritz, from President John F. Kennedy ’s toast at the Élysée Palace to Queen Elizabeth II ’s celebration at the Louvre. This legacy of unforgettable moments now expands into a new realm: porcelain.  Crafted by the House of J.L Coquet , a 200-year-old institution in Limoges known as the “LOUIS XIII of porcelain,” the Art de la Table Collection carries forward this spirit of excellence. Their extra-white porcelain, cherished by Michelin-starred chefs for its purity, becomes the canvas for these creations. Forty artisans spent three years bringing the collection to life, embodying two defining themes of LOUIS XIII: terroir and time. The collection is offered in two editions: Soil is Our Soul  and Light of Time , each limited to 750 individually numbered pieces—a nod to the capacity of a LOUIS XIII tierçon. Every set includes six refined elements: large plate, soup plate, dessert plate, rice bowl, tea set, and coffee set. Soil is Our Soul This edition pays homage to the chalky earth of Grande Champagne, the birthplace of LOUIS XIII. Through advanced 3D scanning, the texture of Domaine du Grollet’s chalky stone is imprinted directly onto porcelain. Artisans glaze, brush, and reveal this texture in a meticulous process, leaving diners with a tactile connection to the land. On the reverse, a laser-engraved fleur-de-lys and three subtle hoops recall the wooden tierçons that cradle eaux-de-vie during decades of aging. Light of Time Inspired by the dark cellars where eaux-de-vie rest and mature, this design introduces a groundbreaking technique: porcelain carved from beneath to allow beams of light to pass through with remarkable translucency. Finished with hand-painted copper lining that echoes Cognac stills, each piece mirrors the crystal facets of a LOUIS XIII glass, where light reveals amber depths. Both collections are available for purchase via the  LOUIS XIII e-Boutique . Prices for  Soil is Our Soul  range from $500–$600 per piece and $3,400 for a full set.  Light of Time  ranges from $500–$750 per piece and $4,000 for a full set.  To understand the creative journey behind the collections— Miami Living  chatted with Anne-Laure Pressat , Global Executive Director of LOUIS XIII. A thena Calderone, @eyeswoom  designer and tastemaker. Photo: Ben Rosser Miami Living: Can you share how the collaboration between LOUIS XIII and J.L. Coquet first came about? Anne-Laure Pressat: LOUIS XIII has graced the world’s most coveted tables for over a century. Expanding this essence into Art de la Table demanded a partner matching our uncompromising artisanship. Our search led us to the House of J.L. Coquet. For two centuries, their extra-white porcelain mastery has illuminated haute gastronomy, revealing the raw material’s inherent beauty—a vision perfectly aligned with ours. This shared dedication and unparalleled craftsmanship made J.L. Coquet the definitive choice to bring the LOUIS XIII Art de la Table to life. What was the biggest challenge in translating the ideas of terroir and time into porcelain? Creating these collections was a challenge and a commitment we deeply share with the House of J.L Coquet. The whiteness of the porcelain is a hallmark of quality porcelain. Yet, its complexity and ultimate artistry lie in the intricate craftsmanship of the material. Over three years, 40 artisans mastered 12 entirely new techniques to bring our vision to life. For us, the process was about ensuring that every detail reflected LOUIS XIII legacy and quest for utmost quality. It was about pushing the limits of porcelain-making to fully express the soul of LOUIS XIII. Miami Living: What led to the use of 3D scanning to capture the chalky soil of Grande Champagne? Anne-Laure Pressat: The LOUIS XIII Soil is Our Soul collection is a tribute to the terroir of Grande Champagne, the 1st cru of Cognac. This land is renowned for its chalky soil, which imparts our eaux-de-vie with unparalleled aromatic complexity and aging potential. To honor this terroir, we sought a way to bring its essence to the table, inviting our guests to experience this land through touch. This ambition led us to the innovative 3D scanning technology. This technology allowed us to do just that. We journeyed to the Grollet Estate, the cradle of LOUIS XIII, and captured the chalky soil’s texture from its vineyards. This detail is now imprinted onto each piece of porcelain, forging a link between the collection and its origin. Miami Living: The copper lining detail is striking—what story does it tell within the collection? Anne-Laure Pressat: The delicate, hand painted copper lining detail within the LOUIS XIII Light of Time Collection echoes the copper Cognac stills that unveil the eaux-de vie aromatic soul. Miami Living: How did collaborating with 40 artisans over three years shape the creative process? Anne-Laure Pressat: Our creative process began with a clear vision: to translate LOUIS XIII’s essence into Art de la Table through designs that profoundly narrate its story. J.L Coquet took on the challenge to create the LOUIS XIII collections, going beyond their current techniques towards the same quest of excellence that is followed in crafting a decanter of LOUIS XIII. Over three years, this collaboration demanded innovation, developing new techniques and rigorously training their artisans. It ultimately required the collective harmony and individual mastery of 40 artisans to meticulously bring the LOUIS XIII essence to life. Athena Calderone (@eyeswoon),  Chef  Daniel Boulud and Anne-Laure Pressat (Global Executive Director of LOUIS XIII). LOUIS XIII Cognac hosted an intimate dinner unveiling its first-ever porcelain collections, Art de la Table, at Chef Daniel Boulud’s newest restaurant, Maison Barnes in NYC. Notable guests included designer and tastemaker Athena Calderone (@eyeswoon), acclaimed pianist Chloe Flower (@misschloeflower), and Chef Daniel Boulud (@danielboulud). Miami Living: Why was the number 750 chosen for the limited edition, and what meaning does it carry? Anne-Laure Pressat: The number reflects the rarity and heritage of LOUIS XIII and pays tribute to the capacity of a single tierçon, a century-old barrel that guards LOUIS XIII eaux-de-vie in the aging cellars. Miami Living: From your perspective, why is porcelain the right medium to extend the LOUIS XIII ritual beyond the glass? Anne-Laure Pressat: To extend the LOUIS XIII ritual beyond the glass onto the dinner experience, porcelain was the undeniable medium. It shares our essence: a rare material steeped in heritage and defined by unparalleled quality. Our journey led us to Limoges, the home of masterful porcelain, and to J.L. Coquet. Their two-century dedication to crafting the whitest, most translucent, and delicate porcelain, truly unveils the raw material’s inherent beauty – a profound parallel to LOUIS XIII essence itself. Miami Living: Miami is famous for its light—how do you see that energy reflecting the luminous qualities of Light of Time? Anne-Laure Pressat: Miami’s renowned light and vibrant energy resonate deeply with the LOUIS XIII Light of Time collection. Our collection is inspired by the transformative journey of our eaux-de-vie, aged for decades in the profound darkness of our cellars, patiently awaiting their radiant emergence into the light. This powerful contrast, from deep shadow to brilliant revelation, directly mirrors Miami’s own luminous spirit. Miami Living: If you were to stage a dinner in Miami with this collection, what kind of experience would you imagine for the city’s vibrant dining culture. Anne-Laure Pressat: We would craft a LOUIS XIII Art de la Table dinner for Miami’s vibrant dining culture: an immersive sensorial journey into our House essence. Guests will explore the dual narratives of Soil is Our Soul and Light of Time collections through a multi-course dinner, where dishes vividly echo their stories, perfectly paired with collection pieces.  Learn more by visting  us.louisxiii-cognac.com  or follow @louisxiiicognac on Instagram and @CognacLouisXIII on X. • Life+Leisure: Lifestyle TV that’s the Best of Both Worlds

Most lifestyle shows pick a lane—aspirational eye candy  or utilitarian how-to. Life+Leisure refuses the choice. It treats taste like a skill you can learn, not a price tag you have to pay. The result is television that looks runway-ready and still respects your calendar, your budget, and your standards. The curators: charm with consumer instincts Bill & Giuliana Rancic do more than host; they edit . Bill brings founder pragmatism—What problem does this solve? How does it hold up?—while Giuliana adds journalist precision—Who made it, why now, and what’s the smarter option? Their chemistry keeps segments warm and fast, but their instinct is always service-first: help the audience make better choices, not just prettier mood boards. The “tasting room” method Think of each episode as an editorial tasting flight—short, vivid courses that add up to a complete palate: The Test Drive: We try it so you don’t waste a weekend. From travel stays to countertop gear, segments show how it performs beyond the unboxing. Swap / Save / Splurge: Three ways into the same vibe—material swaps that keep the look, price-savvy upgrades where quality matters, and one knockout piece that carries the room. Maker Minutes: Craft on camera—atelier stitching, small-batch roasting, glasswork, or a designer’s pattern room—because provenance is part of taste. Weekend Blueprint: Micro-itineraries with texture: one big view, one small neighborhood, one unforgettable bite. Attainable luxury, by design L+L’s north star is value without compromise. Segment producers chase the moment where design, function, and longevity intersect. You’ll see the glam (macro beauty shots, kinetic typography, clean color grade) but you’ll also hear the brass tacks—materials, maintenance, warranties, return policies, and what to consider if you’re renting, downsizing, or juggling family use. Stories you can feel—and use The show’s beat is modern living, but the engine is cause and effect. Why does this fabric breathe better? What made this boutique hotel feel personal? How does a chef turn a weeknight into a ritual you’ll repeat? Guests bring receipts—process, ingredient choices, sourcing, and the tiny decisions that change the outcome. A look that earns your time The visual language is editorial: crisp lines, generous negative space, and music with a fashion-forward pulse. Graphics clarify instead of shouting. You’ll see macro textures—steam off a pan, grain in a board, the way a zipper glides—because feeling the material, even through a screen, helps you judge it. Bites that build a habit L+L is cut for busy lives. Segments are modular and cumulative, so one tip today ladders into a smarter choice next month. Over a season you don’t just “watch cool stuff”—you build a taste vocabulary : why linen drapes differently than cotton; how lighting temperature shifts the mood; when to choose a boutique stay over points-rich chains; what “clean” actually means in a product claim. Who it’s for Design-curious realists who want rooms that work hard and look effortless. Travelers trading checklists for texture. Wellness pragmatists focused on consistency, not extremes. Home cooks & diners who chase flavor and ritual over trends. Gift-givers/product scouts who want beautiful and useful. Fashion that’s uncompromising and cutting edge… but attainable. Why it lands now Choice overload is real. The internet can show you a thousand options; Life+Leisure shows you the right three—and why. It’s a filter you can trust, because the show treats taste as a series of informed decisions, not a vibe. What you leave with A short list of upgrades worth doing now—and a few you can skip. Names you can remember —makers, materials, neighborhoods, recipes, styles. Confidence to put it together your way. Life+Leisure isn’t escapism and it isn’t homework. It’s the best taste of modern living—edited, tested, beautifully told—and ready to make your next choice the right one. For more information visit: lifeleisuretv.com . By ML Staff. • Introducing Aetherography: A New Vision in Art by Meir Martin

What is Aetherography? Aetherography is a groundbreaking art form that transforms photography into something beyond a single captured moment. Each piece is created by blending hundreds—or even thousands—of real bird photographs into one composition. The result is a canvas that holds not just an image, but time itself: nature unfolding through movement, light, and story fused together. About Meir Martin Born in Israel, Meir Martin began photographing birds in the desert during the early 1980s, documenting more than 370 species. After moving to Florida in 1989, he dedicated decades to capturing the Everglades, wetlands, and coasts. For Martin, the camera evolved from a tool of documentation into a brush for a new kind of visual painting—one built from real feathers, real skies, and real light. Why Aetherography is Unique Unlike traditional photography, Aetherography does not freeze a single instant. Instead, it gathers moments across time and composes them into a single canvas. Birds take flight, return, and cross paths within the same frame—as if twenty minutes of nature were condensed into one breathtaking vision. Every detail is real, yet the overall experience feels dreamlike. This is the essence of Aetherography: a bridge between photography and painting, between science and myth, between the fleeting and the eternal. • My New York Fashion Week Street Style Experiment: A Stylist's Diary

I’ve always believed that true fashion magic happens not only on the runway but also on the sidewalks right outside. The energy, the individuality, the unscripted moments—it’s a pulse of the industry you can’t feel from the front row. This season, I traded the coveted invitation for the coveted sidewalk, embarking on a personal mission to conquer the street style scene at New York Fashion Week, with one show at the top of my list: Khaite . For those who may not be familiar, Khaite is the epitome of modern American luxury. Founded by Catherine Holstein, the brand masterfully blends sharp tailoring with a sensual, effortless ease. It’s a label I genuinely love and that constantly inspires my styling philosophy—its sleek silhouettes and impeccable leather pieces translate perfectly from a crisp New York day to a chic Miami evening. It’s more than clothing; it’s a source of inspiration. Securing a seat at the actual Khaite show is a near-impossible feat, reserved for A-list celebrities and industry titans. So, I set my sights on the next best thing: the epicenter of sartorial expression, the street style scrum right at the show’s entrance. This wasn't just about watching; it was about participating. To turn this experiment into reality, I partnered with a phenomenal professional street-style photographer, Regina Foster . Her insider knowledge was my golden ticket—knowing exactly where to stand, when to arrive, and how to navigate the vibrant chaos. Standing there, amidst the hum of anticipation, I felt the unique electricity that defines NYFW. And then, the magic began. The scene erupted into a flurry of flashing cameras as fashion’s finest arrived. I found myself just feet away from the effortlessly cool Rosie Huntington-Whiteley , a vision of minimalist glamour that perfectly encapsulates the Khaite woman. It was a surreal moment, a living mood board coming to life before my eyes. But beyond the celebrities, it was the collective confidence, the bold mixes of texture and color, and the sheer passion of every editor, buyer, and influencer that was truly captivating. This experience was more than just a photo op; it was a masterclass in authenticity. In an age of digital perfection, the streets offer a raw, unfiltered look at how people truly express themselves through fashion. It’s a reminder that style is personal, brave, and sometimes, wonderfully unpredictable. So, how can you bring a piece of this NYFW energy to your South Florida wardrobe? Here are my key takeaways: Embrace "Quiet Luxury"  with an Edge. Khaite’s success lies in its focus on exquisite fabrics and perfect cuts. Invest in a timeless piece—a razor-sharp blazer, a buttery-soft leather tank, or perfectly tailored trousers. In Miami, pair these with linen or silk to keep the look elevated yet breathable. Confidence is Your Best Accessory.  Every person I saw owned their look. Whether you're in a vibrant printed dress from a local Design District boutique or a simple, elegant ensemble, wear it with conviction. That’s the ultimate South Florida vibe. Texture is Everything.  The most compelling street-style looks played with contrast: sleek leather against nubby knitwear, fluid silk against structured denim. Don’t be afraid to mix materials to add depth and interest to your outfit, even in a tropical climate. My New York Fashion Week street style experiment was a powerful reminder that fashion is an experience. It’s about the thrill of the chase, the joy of self-expression, and the inspiration we draw from the world around us. It reaffirmed my passion for helping people discover their unique style identity, proving that great fashion is truly universal. • Strong Under Pressure: Practical Ways Nurses Can Conquer Stress

While nursing is among the most noble careers, it’s also quite demanding. Long shifts, emotional challenges, and the pressure of making quick decisions often lead to high levels of stress. When left unchecked, this stress can affect both personal health and professional performance. However, this doesn’t mean nurses have to be stressed – certain strategies can enable them to handle pressure and maintain balance.  Image by Laura James / Pexels From developing coping habits to exploring opportunities for growth, here are some practical steps every nurse can take to thrive, even on the most demanding days. Recognizing Stress Before It Builds Up The first step to managing stress is being able to recognize it before it becomes overwhelming. Many nurses push through long days without taking time to notice the warning signs. Fatigue, irritability, and loss of focus are common red flags that should not be ignored. Recognizing these signs early allows for small adjustments that can prevent stress from escalating. Awareness is the foundation for building healthy stress management habits. Advancing Education to Reduce Career Stress Career growth is another effective way to lower stress. For many nurses, advancing their education opens doors to roles that come with better pay, more flexibility, and increased job satisfaction. Transitioning into leadership or specialized positions often reduces the physical strain of long shifts and provides opportunities for a more balanced workload.  To make this easier, institutions such as William Paterson University offer affordable RN to BSN online programs . These programs give nurses the ability to study from home while continuing to work, removing the burden of commuting to a campus or delaying education until later. By providing both affordability and convenience, programs like these relieve financial pressure and create a smoother path to career advancement.  Building Strong Support Systems Stress becomes easier to manage when nurses have the right people around them. A supportive team of colleagues creates an environment where challenges are shared instead of carried alone. Speaking with peers who understand the pressures of nursing helps release tension and builds trust. Mentorship programs can also provide valuable guidance for younger nurses who may be struggling with the intensity of their new responsibilities. Beyond the workplace, family and friends play a critical role in offering comfort and encouragement.  Having a strong support system means there is always someone to lean on during difficult times, making stressful days less isolating. Practicing Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques Mindfulness has become a vital tool for managing stress in demanding careers like nursing. Simple practices such as deep breathing, short meditation sessions, or even mindful walking during breaks allow nurses to stay grounded and calm even when situations around them feel chaotic. Incorporating mindfulness into daily routines requires only a few minutes but can provide long-term benefits for mental clarity and emotional stability.  Staying Physically Active and Energized Physical activity is another powerful stress reliever  that nurses can rely on. Exercise reduces stress hormones and improves overall energy levels, making it easier to stay alert during long shifts. While finding time for exercise may feel challenging, even short workouts such as a brisk walk or a quick stretching routine can boost mood and focus. Regular physical activity also strengthens the body, which is especially important for a profession that often requires physical endurance.  Creating Healthy Work-Life Boundaries For many nurses, the line between work and personal life often blurs. Long shifts, unexpected overtime, and the emotional weight of the job can easily spill into time at home. Setting boundaries is one of the most important steps to prevent burnout. Learning to say no to extra responsibilities when already exhausted is not a sign of weakness but of self-preservation. Establishing a clear schedule that includes time for rest, family, and personal activities ensures that work does not dominate every part of life. Nurses who create and honor these boundaries often find themselves more energized and focused during their shifts because they allow space for recovery. Developing Time-Management and Organizational Skills Another practical way to reduce stress is through better time management . Nursing involves juggling multiple tasks at once, and without clear organization, it is easy to get frustrated. Simple tools such as task lists, digital calendars, or shift-management apps can bring order to a hectic day. Creating routines and prioritizing tasks also allows nurses to stay ahead of their workload rather than reacting in constant urgency. Time management doesn’t just reduce pressure – it also increases confidence, since nurses feel more in control of their day. The sense of order that comes with good organizational habits can ease stress both during and after shifts. Embracing Stress-Relief Hobbies Outside of Work Nurses often devote so much energy to their patients that they forget to nurture their own passions. Having hobbies outside of work provides a valuable outlet for stress. Whether it is painting, gardening, hiking, or playing an instrument, hobbies give the mind a chance to reset and shift focus away from hospital life. These activities are not a luxury but a necessity for long-term well-being. By making time for hobbies, nurses remind themselves that their identity is not only tied to their profession but also to the things that make them feel fulfilled as individuals. Nurses carry enormous responsibility every day, and the weight of that responsibility can feel heavy. Yet within that challenge lies the opportunity to grow stronger, more resilient, and more connected to the deeper purpose of the profession. Stress will always be part of the work, but it can also serve as a reminder of the courage and dedication it takes to care for others. By actively choosing habits and strategies that protect well-being, nurses build a foundation not only for their own health but also for the patients who depend on them.  By ML Staff. • Romantic Sophistication for Fendi Spring/Summer 2026 Collection

Silvia Venturini Fendi emphasized summer sensuality for Fendi’s new women’s and men’s collections. The Artistic Director presented delicate light silhouettes against the backdrop of a colorfully pulsating pixelated set designed by Marc Newson. Femininity responds to masculinity, echoed in the polychromatic compositions in the show. Blue plays off brown, pink against red, and pastels are joined by bold hues. Geometric patterns and blooming floral accents grace garments in a statement of relaxed elegance. Airy knits, two-tone jerseys, perforated leathers and openwork furs all bring unexpected dimensions. Translucent organza reveals what might wish to be concealed.   Transcending borders, Silvia Venturini Fendi creates a fluid fusion of everyday clothes and exquisite craftsmanship as apparent simplicity cloaks intricate workmanship. This same duality resonates in the choice of shapes and materials. A tailored suit moves with the ease of sportswear, while vivid buttonhole tabs punctuate jackets. Fendi ’s renowned craft is celebrated in shimmering embroidery and sumptuously ornate accessories. They include Arco pumps with instantly recognizable curved heels, the new signature Collier  bag, sunglasses accented with leather pom-poms, and jewelry created by Delfina Delettrez Fendi. All pieces that invite dreams of next summer. ML Staff. Content/images courtesy of LVMH
