  • Reclaim Your Energy and Shape: Weight Loss Tips for 40+

Image by DepositPhotos If you are above 40 and feel like your body suddenly stopped cooperating, you’re not alone. Many women reach midlife and notice that habits which once kept their weight steady no longer work. Clothes fit differently. Energy dips more easily. And the scale seems stubborn despite eating the same foods as before. The reality is that losing weight after 40 is different – not impossible. With the right understanding of what’s happening physiologically and a smarter strategy built around science instead of trends, it’s entirely realistic to lose fat, rebuild strength, and feel energized again. This guide breaks down what actually changes in your body, how to respond, and the most effective weight loss tips for women over 40 that are supported by medical research and clinical practice. What Changes in Your Body After 40 One of the biggest reasons losing weight in your 40s can feel frustrating is that several biological systems shift at once. Hormones begin to fluctuate, muscle mass naturally declines with age, and metabolism slows slightly each decade. These changes don’t happen overnight, but over time they add up. Estrogen levels gradually decrease as women approach menopause. That drop affects how your body stores fat, often shifting it toward the abdomen. At the same time, insulin sensitivity may decline, making blood sugar regulation less efficient. These hormonal and metabolic shifts have contributed to growing interest in medical approaches such as GLP-1 for women , which may help regulate appetite and metabolic function when combined with lifestyle strategies. Muscle loss is another key factor. Beginning in the 30s, adults can lose a small percentage of muscle each decade if they don’t actively maintain it. Because muscle burns more calories than fat tissue, less muscle means a lower resting metabolic rate. That’s why many women don’t lose weight despite the diet being the same. Lifestyle factors also start to matter more than they did earlier in life. Sleep becomes lighter. Stress levels often rise due to work and family responsibilities. Physical activity sometimes drops because schedules become busier. Each of these influences appetite hormones, energy levels, and fat storage. How to Jumpstart Weight Loss After 40 If you’re wondering how to jumpstart weight loss after 40, the answer isn’t extreme dieting or punishing workouts. In fact, those approaches often backfire by slowing metabolism and increasing muscle loss. The goal is to make your body metabolically efficient again. The first step is rebuilding lean muscle. Strength training is one of the most powerful tools to lose weight because it raises resting calorie burn. Even two or three sessions per week can significantly improve body composition. Nutrition matters just as much. Prioritizing protein supports muscle repair and keeps you feeling full longer. Many experts recommend distributing protein evenly across meals rather than eating most of it at dinner. This approach helps stabilize blood sugar and reduce cravings. Short bursts of higher-intensity exercise can also help. Interval-style workouts challenge your cardiovascular system and increase post-exercise calorie burn without requiring long gym sessions. Hydration is often overlooked but important. Even mild dehydration can affect energy levels and metabolic efficiency. Drinking enough water throughout the day helps with digestion, circulation, and fat metabolism. When these habits are combined, they create a metabolic environment that supports fat loss. Image by DepositPhotos Nutrition Strategies That Actually Work Diet culture promotes complicated plans, but sustainable weight loss for women over 40 tends to come down to consistency and food quality. Instead of cutting entire food groups, focus on building balanced meals. Fiber is especially important at this stage of life. It slows digestion, supports gut health, and helps regulate blood sugar. Foods like beans, vegetables, berries, oats, and lentils can improve satiety while providing nutrients that support metabolism. Balanced meals are key. A plate that includes lean protein, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, and produce provides steady energy and prevents the spikes and crashes that lead to overeating later. Reducing added sugar and excess alcohol can also make a noticeable difference. Both provide calories without much nutritional value and can interfere with sleep quality, which in turn affects appetite hormones. Rather than aiming for perfection, aim for patterns. The women who succeed long term are usually the ones who develop realistic routines they can maintain even during busy weeks. The Best Exercise Approach for Midlife Fat Loss One of the most common misconceptions about how to lose weight after 40 is that cardio should be the main focus. While walking, cycling, or swimming are excellent for heart health, they shouldn’t be the only form of exercise. Strength training is the cornerstone of losing weight after 40 because it preserves and builds muscle mass. More muscle increases resting metabolism, meaning you burn more calories even when you’re not exercising. A well-rounded weekly plan might include strength sessions several times per week. Daily movement such as walking, and one or two short higher-intensity workouts. This combination supports fat loss, cardiovascular fitness, and joint health. Movement outside structured workouts matters too. Simple habits like taking stairs, stretching during breaks, or going for short walks after meals can improve circulation and help regulate blood sugar. Consistency beats intensity. A moderate routine you follow regularly will outperform a demanding one you abandon after two weeks. Hormones, Stress, and Sleep: The Overlooked Factors Many women focus only on calories and workouts, overlooking three major drivers of weight: hormones, stress, and sleep. These factors also maoften determine whether your efforts succeed or stall. Sleep deprivation can increase hunger hormones and reduce satiety signals, making you feel hungrier the next day. Chronic stress raises cortisol levels, which can promote fat storage – especially around the midsection. That’s why lifestyle practices such as mindfulness, relaxation techniques, or simply taking downtime seriously can support fat loss indirectly. They help regulate hormonal balance, which influences metabolism and appetite. Medical factors also matter. Thyroid disorders, insulin resistance, and other conditions can affect weight. If progress feels unusually difficult despite consistent effort, a clinical evaluation can provide valuable insight. Common Mistakes That Slow Progress Even highly motivated women sometimes unknowingly undermine their results. A few patterns tend to show up repeatedly. Crash dieting is one of the biggest. Severe calorie restriction signals the body to conserve energy, slowing metabolism and increasing muscle breakdown. Over time, this can make weight regain more likely. Another mistake is relying only on cardio while ignoring resistance training. Without muscle-building exercise, metabolism may continue to decline. Skipping meals can also backfire. While it might seem like eating less would speed up fat loss, irregular eating patterns can lead to energy crashes and overeating later. Finally, inconsistency is often the biggest barrier. Sustainable results come from steady habits, not short bursts of intense effort. The Mindset Shift That Changes Everything Perhaps the most powerful factor in losing weight in your 40s isn’t physical – it’s mental. Women who achieve lasting results tend to approach weight loss as a health investment rather than a short-term fix. Tracking progress, setting realistic goals, and focusing on strength or energy improvements instead of just scale numbers can make the process feel more rewarding. Social support also plays a role; encouragement from friends, family, or professionals increases adherence to healthy routines. Patience is essential. Midlife weight loss usually happens more gradually than earlier in life, but that slower pace often means the results last. A Practical Routine You Can Follow For many women, success comes from a structured but flexible routine: Daily habits Eat protein with every meal Drink enough water Stay physically active Weekly habits Strength train several times Include short intense workouts Prepare balanced meals in advance Lifestyle habits Sleep consistently Manage stress levels Limit excess sugar and alcohol Following these patterns for several weeks allows your body time to adapt and respond. Image by DepositPhotos A Smarter Way Forward Modern medicine increasingly recognizes that effective weight management isn’t one-size-fits-all. Personalized approaches that consider hormones, metabolism, lifestyle, and medical history often produce better outcomes than generic plans. That’s where professional guidance can make a difference. Instead of guessing which strategy might work, medically supervised programs provide individualized support designed around your physiology. Take the Next Step With Expert Support Losing weight after 40 doesn’t have to feel like an uphill battle. With the right approach, it’s possible to restore energy, build strength, and feel confident in your body again. ThinEra  specializes in science-driven, medically guided weight-loss care designed specifically for real bodies and real lives. Their team of healthcare professionals offers personalized treatment plans, clinical oversight, and access to advanced GLP-1 therapies—all delivered through a secure telehealth platform with safety and integrity at the forefront. • The 10 Most Expensive Pianos in the World and the Stories Behind Their Extraordinary Value

I’ve always been drawn to pianos: some for their sound, others for the history they carry. In some cases, both come together to make an instrument a cultural artifact worth millions. From the transparent grand played at the 2008 Beijing Olympics to the upright John Lennon used to write “Imagine,” I thought it would be interesting to showcase these pianos and the stories they hold beyond the concert hall. 10. Fazioli Gold Leaf Piano — $450,000 Photo credit by Fazioli Pianoforti official gallery The Fazioli Gold Leaf piano combines the precision of Italian piano building with a visual design covered in 24 karat gold leaf. Fazioli is known for producing some of the most technically refined grand pianos used in modern concert halls. In this model, the decorative gold finish transforms the instrument into a luxury object while retaining its performance quality. The price reflects both the brand’s reputation and the unusual finish applied to the piano. 9. Bösendorfer Opus 50 — $750,000 Photo credit by Bösendorfer official press images The Bösendorfer Opus 50 was created as a commemorative instrument for the company. The piano includes decorative gold details and refined craftsmanship that highlight the brand’s tradition of concert grand building. Bösendorfer instruments are already known for their rich tone and extended bass range. In the Opus 50, the added decorative elements and limited production raised the value beyond that of standard concert models. 8. Blüthner Lucid EXO — $960,000 Photo credit by Blüthner Piano Company promotional photography The Blüthner Lucid EXO piano uses a transparent acrylic body similar to crystal pianos but incorporates a modern frame structure that exposes the internal mechanics. The concept emphasizes the visual beauty of the instrument’s structure while preserving the sound quality associated with Blüthner pianos. Its high price reflects the engineering challenges involved in building a stable acrylic grand piano and the limited number produced. 7. C. Bechstein Sphinx — $1.2 million Photo credit by C. Bechstein official media gallery The Bechstein Sphinx piano draws its inspiration from Egyptian imagery. The instrument features decorative carvings and patterns that reference ancient motifs. Building such a piano required both standard piano manufacturing and detailed decorative work. Because few instruments combine traditional piano construction with this level of artistic design, the Sphinx became valuable to collectors who seek unique art case pianos. 6. Schimmel Pegasus — $1.36 million Photo credit by Schimmel Pianos official press images The Schimmel Pegasus piano was designed by Luigi Colani as a sculptural interpretation of a grand piano. Its curved structure and raised lid make the instrument resemble a piece of modern architecture. Though it remains a fully playable piano, the design required specialized engineering and limited production. The price is driven by its status as a design object that merges musical function with industrial design. 5. John Lennon’s Steinway Model Z — $2.37 million Photo credit by Museum of the Imagine piano This Steinway Model Z became famous because John Lennon used it to compose and record the song “Imagine.” The piano itself is modest compared to concert grands, yet its place in music history changed its value completely. When it was later purchased by George Michael, the instrument had already become a symbol connected to one of the most influential songs of the twentieth century. Its price reflects that historical connection rather than technical features. 4. Steinway Fibonacci Piano — $2.4 million Photo credit by Steinway & Sons official gallery The Steinway Fibonacci piano was designed around the mathematical sequence that appears frequently in nature. The lid and body follow the spiral proportions associated with the Fibonacci pattern, while rare Macassar ebony wood forms the surface of the instrument. Only a very small number were produced, which increased their rarity among collectors and institutions. The price reflects the limited production, the unusual design concept, and the reputation of Steinway concert grands. 3. Steinway “Pictures at an Exhibition” — $2.5 million Photo credit by Steinway & Sons official gallery Steinway created the “ Pictures at an Exhibition ” piano as an art case instrument inspired by Modest Mussorgsky’s composition. Artist Paul Wyse spent years painting scenes from the music directly onto the body of the grand piano. The instrument functions as both a concert piano and a visual artwork. Its price comes from the combination of Steinway craftsmanship and the time invested in the detailed painting that transformed the instrument into a collectible piece of art. 2. Casablanca “As Time Goes By” Piano — $3.4 million Photo credit by Bonhams Auction House  (2014 Casablanca auction) The piano from the film Casablanca gained its value from cinema history rather than musical design. It appears in the famous scene where Sam plays “As Time Goes By,” a moment that became one of the most recognizable sequences in film. Because the instrument is tied directly to the legacy of the 1942 movie and its enduring popularity, collectors view it as a piece of cultural history. When it was auctioned decades later, the association with the film turned a simple studio prop into one of the most valuable pianos ever sold. Note: although valued around $3.4M, some lists place the Heintzman first because it is the most expensive functioning concert piano 1. Heintzman Crystal Piano — $3.22 million Photo credit by Olympic performance via Getty Images / Associated Press The Heintzman Crystal Piano became famous during the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics when Lang Lang performed on its transparent acrylic body before a global audience. The instrument itself was built as a functional concert grand but also as a visual centerpiece, designed to combine performance with spectacle. After the event, its rarity and the historic moment attached to it drove its value to over three million dollars at auction. The price reflects not only the craftsmanship required to build a clear acrylic concert grand but also the cultural significance of its Olympic performance. By ML Staff.

  • Water Features – The Psychology Behind Them And Their Effect

It’s definitely not an unusual sight when you see a pool in a Florida home. And with the climate here, it’s very easy to see why. Still, not every home has a pool, but you’ll notice that more and more people are adding little splashes of something special here and there.   Get it? Splashes? We’re talking about water features – bubbling fountains on front porches, koi ponds, even table fountains. Water features are super popular in home design because of how beautiful and serene they look. Plus, you can’t beat the sound of flowing water. The thing with water is that its appeal goes way beyond looks.  Yes, they create stunning views, but they also have a positive effect on the energy of the home and the people living inside it.  There’s an actual psychological reason behind why so many people are drawn to the sight and sound of water, and once you tap into that, your house goes from walls and windows to a sanctuary.  The Calming Power of Water Features Sit next to a fountain and see how much better you’ll feel. Even watching a video of the ocean can make you feel better.  Why? Because for centuries, water meant life – it still does – and that deep connection we have to water is still somewhere embedded in our minds.  Whenever you see/hear water, your brain is wired to get a signal that everything’s going to be fine. You get the signal that you’re safe. And this is pretty much when the magic happens – stress levels go down, shoulders drop, and minds stop racing.  Now let’s talk about the sound. Regardless of the source, the sounds of water are soothing .  It’s the type of white noise that masks all those nasty sounds like traffic and slamming doors. Water covers all those sudden noises and creates almost a blanket of quiet that lets your mind finally relax, kind of like nature’s lullaby.  When you bring that element into your home, everything changes, and you’ll notice it.  Water features (pools, fountains, ponds, etc.) all have their own way of turning chaos into order; stress into relaxation, unrest into peace. Basically, what they do is they introduce your own private pocket of tranquility right into your home – and that’s priceless. How to Design Water Features to Maximize Their Impact If you’re sold on the idea of bringing water into your home, the next step is to figure out where to start.  There’s no single right answer to this, but your goal is to maximize that calming, peaceful energy. In order to do that, you need to choose the right feature for your space and, of course, your lifestyle. Maybe you need a massive swimming pool , maybe you need just a little tabletop fountain for your office. It depends.  What kind of atmosphere do you want?   If you want the sounds of water to help you relax after work, a small bubbling foundation or a pondless water feature close to the patio is a fantastic choice. They’re excellent because they provide the sight and sound of water, but you don’t need to commit to a huge installation to be able to enjoy them. Naturally, if you have the space and your dream is to have that one special spot that can be both relaxing and entertaining, a swimming pool is the obvious choice.  The thing with pools is, you need to think about your environment and make it part of the design.   Here’s a quick example of why that’s important: If you’re here in Florida and you ask a contractor for advice, they’ll tell you you can pretty much play with features because you can use the pool all year, but you should make sure that the pool is built from materials that can withstand corrosion from the salty air and humidity.   If, on the other hand, you were to look into custom swimming pool design Macungie PA  residents would go for, you’d learn that swimming pools in Pennsylvania need to be winterized and heated because of harsh winters.  Placement is a big factor here.  An indoor water feature will set a tranquil tone the moment you walk into your house. Outdoor features like pools and ponds can turn your backyard into an outdoor spa. Regardless of where you put it, though, be practical. You don’t want something that’s so big that it overwhelms your space or so high-maintenance that it becomes a chore.  Create a balance between aesthetics and functionality because, although you want it to be beautiful, you also want it to be a positive addition to your life, not another thing on your weekend to-do list.  Conclusion If you’re ready to make a splash, then you’ll be happy to know that it will completely transform the energy of your home. No huge budget needed, not even a huge space, because table fountains fit anywhere, and they can work their magic just like ponds and pools can.  Water features are by far one of the coolest upgrades you can bring to your home. • Piegatto Makes Salone del Mobile Debut with Carved Landscapes

Piegatto will make its highly anticipated debut at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 (April 8-13) with  Carved Landscapes , a comprehensive collection that explores furniture as contemporary artifact and inhabitable sculpture. Exhibiting in Hall 18, Stand F12, the brand's inaugural presentation marks a pivotal moment in its evolution from regional recognition to global positioning. Featuring large-scale architectural pieces crafted from laminated birch with sculpted volumes. The series includes buffets and  large-format consoles, bookshelves, closed bar cabinets,  open TV cabinets, and f loating cocktail bar tables.  Each object is conceived as a carved architectural mass where function is revealed through subtraction rather than construction. Shelves appear hollowed, compartments feel excavated, and proportions are bold and deliberate—blurring the line between domestic architecture and furniture. Aligned with Salone's 2026 theme "A Matter of Salone" which explores matter as origin, memory, and meaning, Piegatto's exhibition reflects on permanence in an era of acceleration, presenting objects that feel excavated rather than manufactured, shaped by time, matter, and intention. Carved Landscapes  reimagines furniture through monolithic forms that stand between sculpture and use. Drawing inspiration from prehistoric monuments, geological formations, and the quiet authority of carved stone, each piece appears grounded and immovable, yet softened by human touch and ergonomic precision. “Salone del Mobile represents a moment of responsibility for us. It is where design is positioned culturally, not just commercially. With Carved Landscapes, we are entering the global conversation with clarity presenting furniture not as trend, but as architectural presence and material permanence.” - Pietro Estrada   The presentation unfolds as a spatial landscape rather than a conventional display, where tables function as landmarks, sofas become inhabitable terrain, and lighting acts as atmospheric texture. Wood, upholstery, and light are approached as primary materials worked with restraint, respect, and sculptural sensibility. New Introductions Retiro Sofa Collection: Sustainability Meets Sculptural Presence The Retiro Sofa introduces a groundbreaking sustainable material developed in-house by Piegatto. Crafted from a proprietary composite of reclaimed wood residue from the brand's own furniture production combined with resins, Retiro transforms industrial waste into durable outdoor seating. Its form resembles an eroded stone mass textured, grounded, and continuously engineered for full exterior use. The collection demonstrates that permanence can be achieved through reinvention rather than extraction, combining ergonomics, sculptural presence, and environmental responsibility in the luxury outdoor and collectible design segment. Toko Table Collection: Ancient Monuments Reimagined Inspired by menhirs and dolmen stones, the Toko Tables anchor interiors with symbolic and physical presence. Crafted from solid hardwood with custom finishes, these large-scale dining tables and consoles feature wood volumes stacked one atop another, defying gravity through clever male-female assembly. The geometry is redefined into a single surface curve, where the flat becomes slightly curved and merges with rounded corners. Rather than decorative detailing, Toko focuses on volume and proportion; transforming primitive structural language into contemporary furniture that functions as a landmark within a space. Nuuk Sofa Collection: Modular Landscapes Piegatto's first fully upholstered modular system, Nuuk creates continuous landscapes rather than isolated seating elements. Composed of six modules generating 20 configurations, the system integrates Palm side tables and Palm pendant lamps, giving the modular system Piegatto's signature aesthetic through wood details. Inspired by glacial landscapes and eroded rock formations, Nuuk combines generous proportions with fluid, organic silhouettes. Ovo Chair: Movement Meets Monumentality The Ovo Chair introduces softness into the collection's monolithic language. Defined by its enveloping oval form, the upholstered seat rests on a carved wooden base, balancing comfort with architectural presence. A 360-degree rotating mechanism allows fluid interaction within space. Available in dining and lounge versions, Ovo moves effortlessly between intimacy and statement; a quiet sculpture designed for movement and rest. Ikigai Tables: Balance and Essential Form The Ikigai Tables introduce a quieter expression within the collection, focusing on balance, purpose, and intentional simplicity. Defined by continuous lines and grounded proportions, each table feels inevitable in its shape expressing harmony between function, form, and meaning. The collection explores the Japanese concept of ikigai (reason for being) through furniture that carries a calm, centered presence. Majo and Cartussia Lamps: Light as Carved Matter Lighting plays a central role through two new collections. The Majo Lamps feature perforated surfaces that allow light to pass rhythmically through matter, transforming illumination into texture and shadow. The Cartussia Lamps, with their enclosed forms recalling vaulted architectural spaces, produce indirect and contemplative illumination. Together, they reinforce the exhibition's exploration of light as a carved, atmospheric element. Dunes: An Immersive Art Installation At the heart of the exhibition stands Dunes, an immersive installation composed of thousands of suspended threads. Through density, layering, and subtle movement, the piece introduces softness and impermanence into the otherwise monolithic environment. As viewers move around it, color, depth, and light continuously shift, evoking wind-shaped landscapes and the passage of time, a counterbalance between solidity and fluidity. Exhibition Details: Dates: April 21-26, 2026 Location: Hall 18, Stand F12 Exhibition: Carved Landscapes—an immersive spatial narrative designed by the Piegatto creative team . By ML Staff. • Miami Music Week 2026: Your Ultimate Guide to the City’s Biggest Music Celebration

Every March, Miami Music Week  turns Greater Miami and Miami Beach  into the unofficial capital of global electronic music, pulsing with bassline rhythms, sunrise DJ sets and packed dance floors.  THRōW Social® Miami From March 24-29, 2026, events will ripple across the city, filling nightclubs, rooftops, hotel pools and outdoor venues with EDM, house, techno, trance, drum and bass, dubstep and more. The crescendo arrives March 27-29, when Ultra Music Festival returns to Bayfront Park, drawing tens of thousands of fans. Yet for many locals and visitors, the real magic of Miami Music Week happens beyond the main stage. Consider this your guide to where to party, stay and recharge during the most electric week of the year. Where the Parties Happen Across Miami Beach, hotel pool decks transform into daytime dance floors. The Goodtime Hotel  hosts weeklong poolside celebrations on its third-floor deck, where live DJ sets by artists like BISCITS  and Chus & Ceballos  keep the energy high from noon until sunset. The seven-story boutique property, known for its playful pastel design and lively social scene, becomes one of the week’s most vibrant gathering spots. The Gates Hotel South Beach  hosts a ticketed all-day pool party on March 28 featuring live DJs and an immersive Ooka  lounge takeover on its scenic third-floor deck overlooking Collins Canal. Over in Brickell, Novotel Miami Brickell ’s Vista Rooftop Bar & Lounge  brings daytime rhythm to the skyline with its High Noon Sessions from March 27-29. The rooftop series features female DJs, including Janny Chaos  and Rozzi , in celebration of Women’s History Month. Guests can expect specialty activations, cocktails and a laid-back Sunday “Reset & Recover” finale complete with fresh juice and Aperol spritzes. For those who prefer their nightlife with a side of glamour, Delilah Miami  brings the energy indoors with its signature dinner-and-a-show experience. Known for surprise performances from artists like Kaytranada, Timbaland and SOFI TUKKER, the modern-day supper club will host a special Throwback Thursday celebration during Music Week. Downtown Miami also plays a central role in the festivities. At The Elser Hotel & Residences , located directly across from Bayfront Park, hotel guests enjoy exclusive rooftop pre-parties throughout Ultra weekend. The expansive 19,000-square-foot pool deck becomes a festival warmup zone, complete with DJ sets, themed face painting, cocktails and panoramic views of Biscayne Bay. In Wynwood, the creative district’s industrial rooftops provide the perfect backdrop for sunset celebrations. STAMPED  returns to Higher Ground at Arlo Wynwood  on March 29 for an open-air closing party centered on Amapiano and Afrobeats. The event, hosted by @AYA  + Friends, highlights sounds from across the African continent as the sun dips behind the city skyline. Meanwhile, THRōW Social® Miami , one of Wynwood’s newest entertainment venues, continues the party at its massive 35,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor playground featuring live music, DJ sets, interactive games and a towering LED stage. Delilah Miami Where to Stay Close to the Action Choosing the right home base can make or break a Miami Music Week itinerary. Downtown Miami and Wynwood place visitors closest to Ultra and the city’s largest events. The Elser Hotel & Residences  offers spacious apartment-style suites just steps from Bayfront Park, making it a favorite among festivalgoers who want to stay within walking distance of the action. Nearby in Wynwood, Arlo Wynwood  blends art, nightlife and hospitality as the district’s first hotel, placing guests in the heart of Miami’s creative scene. Brickell’s Novotel Miami Brickell  offers a sleek urban stay with skyline views and a rooftop pool that doubles as one of Music Week’s most stylish daytime venues. Across the causeway, Miami Beach provides the quintessential coastal retreat between parties. Mid-Beach’s Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club  pairs art deco elegance with beachfront relaxation, while neighboring Hotel Continental  offers vintage-inspired social spaces and a MiMo-era pool. South Beach favorites like The Goodtime Hotel  and The Gates Hotel  keep guests immersed in Music Week’s lively atmosphere, while The Betsy Hotel  provides a more refined cultural counterpoint with nightly jazz, art exhibitions and poetry readings. For travelers seeking a quieter escape within walking distance of the beach, Balfour Miami Beach  in the South of Fifth neighborhood blends historic art deco charm with modern comforts. The Elser Hotel & Residences Where to Refuel Between Sets Even the most dedicated dance fans eventually need a break. Fortunately, Miami’s dining scene rises to the occasion. On Miami Beach, LT South Beach  at The Betsy Hotel serves refined New American cuisine from celebrity Chef Laurent Tourondel, while The Alley —tucked discreetly behind the hotel—offers Roman-style pizzas and Italian classics in a hidden courtyard setting. Those seeking bold Japanese flavors can head to Uchiko  Miami Beach, where flame-driven dishes, yakitori and pristine nigiri make it a favorite for late dinners with friends. Quick bites also have their place during Music Week. Kung Fu Chicken , opening in Miami Beach just in time for the festivities, offers crispy fried chicken inspired by Asian night markets—perfect for grabbing between sets. In Wynwood, R House  keeps the party alive with its lively drag brunch and late-night performances, while Uchi  Miami delivers elevated sushi and omakase from James Beard Award–winning Chef Tyson Cole. For those seeking a quieter evening away from the crowds, Da Angelino Cucina Italiana  in Coconut Grove provides a cozy Italian escape complete with handmade pastas and a hidden Venetian-style wine bar. R House Getting Around the City With events happening across Miami Beach, Downtown, Brickell and Wynwood, transportation becomes part of the strategy. Freebee , the city’s free on-demand electric ride service, helps festivalgoers navigate Miami and Miami Beach efficiently while reducing environmental impact. A quick ride between hotels, restaurants and venues makes hopping from a sunset pool party to a midnight DJ set surprisingly seamless. The Pool at The Goodtime Hotel The Rhythm of Miami For one week each year, Miami becomes less of a destination and more of a soundtrack. And in 2026, that rhythm promises to be louder, brighter and more unforgettable than ever. By ML Staff. Photos in this story courtesy of their venues.

  • Children's Skincare Line, Toddle, Launches in the U.S.

Just in time for summer, Toddle , a local, science-backed children’s skincare brand, has launched in the U.S. The brand’s mission is to provide premium, next-generation skincare products with short and long-term benefits for children’s delicate skin. Manufactured in the United States, the dermatologist- and pediatrician-backed vegan formulations combine trusted ingredients, including prebiotics and probiotics, and a deep understanding of the microbiome to support a child’s natural skin barrier.  “We’re beyond excited to bring Toddle to families across the country,” said Deri Green, owner of Toddle. “As a parent of two, Toddle is deeply personal to me. I wanted us to build a brand that embodies excellence, safety and care – one that I would feel confident using with my own family. That’s why our new products are crafted to be gentle and natural. We want to give parents confidence and peace of mind when it comes to caring for their children’s skin.” As research into children’s microbiome continues to grow, prebiotics and probiotics are gaining recognition as a safe and effective treatment in pediatric dermatology. Studies are showing that skincare products with prebiotics and probiotics can help boost and balance a person’s microbiome for healthier skin and reduce skin conditions such as eczema, acne and dry skin. Incorporating probiotics into skincare routines has also been shown to help alleviate inflammation and irritation, making them particularly beneficial for children with sensitive or reactive skin. For its U.S. debut, Toddle introduced its SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen with Inulin Prebiotic. Specially formulated for ages 6 months and up, this high-level sun protection product with SPF 50 features plant-based prebiotics to protect the skin barrier and non-nano zinc to deflect harmful UV rays. Safe, gentle and effective, it ensures both comprehensive sun care and fortification of natural defense. Pediatrician and dermatologist approved, f ragrance free, dye free, paraben and phthalate free, reef safe, water resistant, and cruelty free, this fast-absorbing formula provides immediate protection without leaving white residue. Key ingredients in Toddle's sunscreen include:  inulin , a prebiotic that creates the correct moisture concentration for the skin while calming it; aloe vera and niacinamide , which calm, condition and soothe sun-exposed skin; Vitamin E , to protect the skin barrier from UV exposure, and contains antioxidant properties and enhances cell regeneration; and Shea Butter , to soften, hydrate the skin and improve skin barrier protection. Coming soon, Toddle will launch its Soothing Moisturizing Lotion , designed for ages 3+ months. Perfect for everyday use for infants and beyond, this lotion is enriched with probiotics to strengthen and maintain the skin’s natural barrier. The gentle formula provides long-lasting hydration, helping to prevent dryness and irritation while promoting balanced, healthy skin. This product boasts anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties, defending the skin against harmful bacteria. By supporting the restoration of the skin’s natural barrier, this moisturizing lotion creates an environment that discourages harmful bacteria while promoting healthier, more resilient skin. In addition to aloe vera and shea butter, key ingredients in the lotion include Lactobacillus Ferment , a probiotic that supports the skin’s microbiome and enhances skin barrier function; Propanediol , a humectant that attracts moisture to the skin, keeping it hydrated and smooth; Lactic Acid , which gently exfoliates, improves skin texture and promotes hydration; and Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E),  an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from free radical damage, supports hydration and promotes skin healing. From its inception in the UK in 2019, Toddle repositioned itself by creating new pre- and probiotic formulations in 2024 and launched in the U.S. in 2025. Toddle’s ambition is to be the leading family skincare company in the US, dedicated to providing immediate benefits to your skin health and enhancing long-term skin defenses – supporting families all the way. Toddle skincare products are available for purchase at Amazon  and ship nationwide. By ML Staff. Content/images courtesy of Toddle.
