Whitney was raised in a military family in Japan and later completed her Bachelor's degree at Florida International University. She then joined the United States Air Force, where she was quickly promoted to Noncommissioned Officer and earned the Air Force Commendation Medal. During her service, she led the Signals Intelligence briefing team and pursued further education, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Intelligence Studies and a Master's degree in Homeland Security.
After her military service, Whitney attended the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University, where she earned her Juris Doctorate. Despite working full-time during law school, she excelled academically and received several Cali Book Awards.
