There are places you visit, and then there are places that leave a permanent mark on your sense of what travel can be. Nestled in the Caribbean, Saint Barthélemy—affectionately known as Saint Barts—is one such place. Its appeal is timeless: a blend of unspoiled natural beauty, French sophistication, and intimate exclusivity. At the heart of this island experience lies its true jewel—a Le Toiny hotel, a place that defines understated luxury and captures the essence of what makes Saint Barts unforgettable.

Today, the iconic Le Toiny Hotel in Saint Barts announced a strategic restructuring of its senior management team. After a decade of dedicated leadership as CEO, Charles Walker has decided to retire from the position, whilst remaining on the Board of Directors, where he will continue to support the property through a focus on special projects.

Chairman Charles Vere Nicoll commented, “I am delighted to announce that in line with this transition, Luc Lanza has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Le Toiny, following ten years of transformative leadership as General Manager. At the same time, Adolfo Acampora steps into the role of General Manager, bringing a dynamic new perspective to the property’s day-to-day operations.”

Luc Lanza’s journey is synonymous with the evolution of St. Barth’s luxury hospitality landscape. He arrived on the island 30 years ago at the age of 24, beginning his career in a local Gustavia restaurant before being recruited by Eden Rock. There, he rose to become Food & Beverage Manager, a role he held for 18 years. In 2015, following the acquisition of Le Toiny by Charles and Mandie Vere Nicoll, Luc was tapped to lead the hotel as General Manager. Over the past decade, he has overseen its full restoration, transforming Le Toiny into one of the island’s most sought-after and discreetly luxurious escapes.

“I’ve grown with this island, and Le Toiny has become a personal and professional milestone in my life,” said Luc Lanza. “As I transition to CEO, I look forward to continuing to shape the long-term vision of the property while supporting Adolfo as he takes on the next chapter of our story.”

A rising talent in international hospitality, Adolfo Acampora brings deep industry experience paired with personal connection to Le Toiny. Having started in hotels at the age of 12 alongside his father, he later attended Glion in Switzerland, earning a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management and a Master’s in Luxury Brand Management. His career has spanned prestigious names including Four Seasons, Bulgari Hotels, and Relais & Châteaux, as well as five years in operations and quality management with a Singapore-based consultancy.

In December 2022, Adolfo joined Le Toiny as Deputy General Manager. “This hotel has meant something special to me for years—I even got married here in 2021,” said Acampora. “Now, stepping into the role of General Manager, I’m honored to lead a property I truly love, and to continue building on Luc’s remarkable legacy.”

Adolfo is currently pursuing an online master’s degree in Hotel Revenue Management from Cornell University, underscoring his commitment to innovation and excellence in the evolving world of luxury hospitality.

This leadership transition marks a new chapter for Le Toiny, rooted in legacy and looking boldly to the future—with two leaders uniquely aligned in vision, values, and deep devotion to the island of St. Barth. As the hotel looks to the future, guests can expect the same world-class service they’ve come to know—infused with renewed creativity, innovation, and Caribbean warmth.

We’ll meet you there.
