What's Happening on Brickell Key: Mandarin Oriental's Condominium

Updated: Nov 15, 2024

Brickell Key is known as one of Miami’s best destinations for those seeking the most exclusive properties. This man made island, privately managed since the 1970s by Swire Properties, is home to such ultra-luxurious properties as Courvoisier Courts and Asia Brickell Key. Being only 44 square acres, land is precious here, meaning that few developments have been approved since the mid-2010s.

That will all change in 2029 when Brickell Key’s newest and most beautiful development opens its doors. In September 2024, Swire Properties celebrated the grand opening of the sales pavilion for Mandarin Oriental’s audacious project, which consists of two towers: a hotel and a 66-floor condominium with 228 gorgeous units.

If you’re ready to grow your wealth in Miami, there’s no better investment than high-value real estate, and this condominium is poised to deliver. With expansive amenities, beautiful views, and meticulous yet sustainable design, The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami promises to delight guests and residents alike.

An Award-Winning New York Architectural Firm Melds Sustainability With Luxury

The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF). KPF is best known for its work on projects like 333 Wacker Drive in Chicago and the Shanghai World Financial Center in China, both of which have been named by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) among the world's 50 most influential tall buildings of the last 50 years.

Another essential element of KPF’s approach to architecture is an interest in sustainability. The firm signed the AIA 2030 Commitment to create fully electric and carbon-neutral buildings by 2030. KPF’s team has shared their work toward this goal in symposiums worldwide, including their Global Director of Sustainability, Carlos Cerezo Davila, sharing their data-driven approach to sustainable design at the TECH+ architecture conference in New York.

KPF is working with the team at the Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami to align these goals without sacrificing beauty. The condominium’s graceful design features stunning gold accents, spacious terraces, and large floor-to-ceiling windows that offer abundant light.

100,000 Square Feet of Amenities Await Guests and Residents

One key enticement for any luxury condominium is the amenities, and the new Brickell Key condominium intends to deliver in spades. Their design plan includes a 100,000-square-foot amenities podium shared between the condominium and hotel, allowing easy access to various entertainment.

This includes one of Mandarin Oriental’s signature spas, beloved worldwide thanks to its flexible and client-centered booking system called the “Time Ritual.” Condo owners and hotel guests can stroll through a tea garden, visit a tea pavilion with private chef kitchens, and relax in a multi-tiered, beautifully landscaped pool. For those seeking something more active, there is also a multi-use sports court where one can enjoy a game of tennis or pickleball.

Another unique touch is the grand ballroom, which can be rented for special events. Here, guests can enjoy fine dining and dancing, harkening back to the glamorous days of Old Miami.

Signature Service Attends to Residents’ Every Need

As a high-end hospitality brand, Mandarin Oriental is no stranger to offering services beyond what one would expect in a typical hotel. They have translated this approach to their residential offerings, where residents will appreciate attentive service for all of life’s inconveniences.

Services provided at the Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami include housekeeping, car washing and detailing, pet care, childcare, travel planning, transportation arrangements, security services, delivery and courier services, and translation assistance.

Lush Vegetation Will Beautify Brickell Key

Brickell Key is already quite densely forested for such a small area: there are 5,000 trees scattered throughout the island, and it is home to one of Miami’s largest parks. However, Mandarin Oriental is committed to sustainable design, which includes adding additional landscaping to the island.

The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will feature the artistry of Thai landscaping firm Shma, which focuses on designs that balance human needs with the natural environment. Their bespoke landscaping services have been essential in protecting rivers, introducing passive cooling technologies, and beautifying properties in numerous countries, particularly China and Thailand.

Shma’s portfolio emphasizes the need to harmonize with nature, inviting in native wildlife and focusing on creating low-maintenance, sustainable microbiomes. Drawing on their experience in other tropical climates, Shma will utilize over 100 native Florida plant species to create a space that delights residents and protects the local ecosystem.
