What Are Hollywood’s Most Valuable Celebrity Body Parts?

Celebrity insurance policies place extraordinary price tags on the physical features and performances that help define a star’s public image. In Hollywood, a recognizable smile, a pair of legs, or even an actor’s entire body can become a multimillion-dollar financial asset.

Some of these policies were created for major advertising campaigns, while others were associated with the risks of physically demanding film productions. Together, they offer a revealing look at how fame, commercial value, and physical identity intersect in the entertainment industry.

Julia Roberts has one of the most valuable smiles in Hollywood, at least according to the figure that has followed her career for years. Entertainment reports have repeatedly claimed that the actress’s smile was insured for approximately $30 million, making it one of the largest celebrity body-part valuations ever publicized.

The amount reflects the commercial power of an image that became instantly recognizable through films such as Pretty Woman, Notting Hill, Ocean’s Eleven, and My Best Friend’s Wedding. Roberts also won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Erin Brockovich. Although no insurer or policy document has been publicly identified, the reported $30 million valuation remains one of Hollywood’s best-known celebrity insurance stories.

America Ferrera’s smile received a $10 million valuation in 2007 as part of a campaign for Aquafresh White Trays, a product owned by GlaxoSmithKline. The policy was underwritten by Lloyd’s of London and arranged while Ferrera represented the teeth-whitening brand. Rather than protecting a private personal asset, the insurance helped emphasize the value of her smile to a national advertising campaign.

The $10 million figure placed Ferrera among the celebrities with the most expensive insured smiles. Her career had already reached a major milestone through Ugly Betty, for which she won an Emmy and a Golden Globe. She later received an Academy Award nomination for her supporting performance in Barbie.

Daniel Craig: A $9.5 Million Full-Body Policy

Daniel Craig’s reported insurance policy extended beyond a single feature. His entire body was reportedly valued at $9.5 million during the production of the 2008 James Bond film Quantum of Solace. The coverage was associated with the physical demands of playing James Bond, particularly because Craig performed many of the action sequences himself. An injury that prevented him from completing production could have created significant financial losses for the film.

The reported $9.5 million policy demonstrated how an actor’s physical ability can become essential to the financing of an action-heavy production. Craig ultimately appeared as Bond in five films before continuing his career as detective Benoit Blanc in the Knives Out series. He also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2021.

Jamie Lee Curtis: $1 Million Legs

Jamie Lee Curtis’s legs were reportedly insured for $1 million after she became a spokesperson for L’eggs pantyhose in 1996. Lloyd’s of London was identified as the insurer, with the policy forming part of the brand’s advertising campaign. Because Curtis’s legs were central to promoting the product, the coverage transformed a physical feature into a measurable commercial asset.

Some later celebrity-insurance lists have attached a higher figure to the policy, but contemporary reporting from 1996 placed its value at $1 million. Curtis went on to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Everything Everywhere All at Once. She also remains closely associated with the Halloween franchise, which helped establish her as one of cinema’s most recognizable performers.

Celebrity insurance policies may be practical financial protections, promotional tools, or a combination of both. Whatever their purpose, the reported values reveal how much money can be connected to the physical characteristics that make a performer commercially recognizable. These policies turn celebrity image into a tangible and exceptionally expensive asset.
