Leading this culinary renaissance is Chef Francisco Merizalde, a seasoned chef with over three decades of experience. Chef Merizalde’s distinguished career includes leadership roles at iconic properties such as The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, and JW Marriott Scottsdale. Originally from Quito, Ecuador, Chef Merizalde’s culinary journey began in his family kitchen, where he mastered the art of crafting salsa roja, a tradition that remains a hallmark of his cooking style today.




His philosophy of "cooking with heart" is evident across the menus at W Miami, from in-room dining to banquet services. Outside of his culinary ventures, Chef Merizalde enjoys exploring South Florida’s beaches, connecting with the local dining scene, and spending quality time with his family.
