United Way of Broward County’s Women United Hosts 13th Annual Magnolia Luncheon Celebrating Women’s Empowerment and Community Leadership

United Way of Broward County’s Women United celebrated the power of women and community at the 13th Annual Magnolia Luncheon, held on Wednesday, December 10, 2024, at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The event drew an inspiring crowd of philanthropists, business leaders, and community advocates, all united in their commitment to advancing women and supporting community initiatives.
During the event, United Way of Broward County’s President/CEO Kathleen Cannon and Director of Women’s Philanthropy and head of Women United Jedidiah Quinones welcomed nearly 500 local notables in attendance. The event was co-chaired by Pamela Dalton and Milin Espino, and Women United Cabinet Chair LaurieAnne Minoff who played an instrumental role in its success.

The highlight of the afternoon was a phenomenal keynote speech delivered by Victoria Arlen, ESPN and Ninja Warrior Host, Author, Honoree for Forbes 30 Under 30, and Paralympic Gold Medalist. Sharing her journey of resilience and triumph, Arlen left the audience inspired and empowered.
This year’s luncheon also marked a significant milestone with the announcement of the inaugural Susie Levan Woman of Inspiration Award, honoring women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made a lasting impact in their communities. The announcement included a message from Six-Time Emmy Award-Winning Journalist Laurie Jennings and a moving video tribute to Susie Levan. The 2024 recipients were Jennifer Starkey, Senior Vice President, Regional Vice President, TD Bank, and Tamara Beliard Rodriguez, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Island TV.
