The funds will be used to purchase and distribute fresh and shelf-stable food items to local food banks, ensuring that thousands of community members facing food insecurity have reliable access to healthy meals.

“We are deeply honored and grateful for this incredible support from The Jim Moran Foundation,” said Kathleen Cannon, President/CEO of United Way Broward. “This partnership strengthens our capacity to deliver high-impact services and respond to the urgent needs of our neighbors. Together, we are changing lives.”

The Jim Moran Foundation has been a steadfast partner in the fight against hunger, continuously funding Project Lifeline for the past 13 years. Since the program’s inception in 2009, the Foundation has contributed more than $3 million, reinforcing its commitment to meeting the essential needs of those experiencing challenges and hardships.

Project Lifeline not only nourishes bodies but also preserves dignity. By distributing more than 1 million pounds of healthy food over the past year and offering pantry-friendly recipe cards that empower families to make the most of what they receive, the program provides practical, compassionate support in the fight against hunger—reaching more than 500,000 people each year in Broward County.

This latest grant is a testament to the shared vision between United Way Broward and The Jim Moran Foundation: building a more equitable, resilient community for all.
