UK Country Estates Emerge as New Summer Destinations for Contemporary Art

Historic country estates across the United Kingdom are increasingly hosting major contemporary art projects, drawing leading artists, galleries, and collectors and creating a new summer circuit for art audiences beyond the traditional museum and gallery hubs of London.

Installations and exhibitions by artists such as Yayoi Kusama and Phyllida Barlow are being staged in and around these historic properties, highlighting how country houses are being used as expansive venues for large scale and site specific works.

Commercial galleries are also deepening their involvement with heritage sites.
