UBS Explores Everyday Culture With “Beyond Pop” at Art Basel Miami Beach

UBS will present Beyond Pop: Art of the Everyday at the Art Basel Miami Beach fair, activating both the UBS Lounge and the UBS Art Studio with works from the UBS Art Collection. The presentation focuses on artists who draw inspiration from familiar, everyday objects, positioning them at the intersection of fine art and popular culture.

At the UBS Lounge, the centerpiece is Superstorm (2025), a new commissioned painting by Katherine Bernhardt. Among the largest works of her career, the piece brings together her signature pop vernacular—anchored by a lounging Pink Panther—surrounded by motifs such as butter, Tide detergent, fruit, sharks and beach imagery, all caught in a spinning “superstorm” of visual chaos. A short video filmed in Bernhardt’s St. Louis studio will accompany the work.

Additional pieces on view include works from Ashley Bickerton, Michael Craig-Martin, Gabriel de la Mora, Hong Hao, Claes Oldenburg, Ed Ruscha, Wayne Thiebaud and Andy Warhol. The UBS Art Collection, one of the world’s largest corporate collections of contemporary art, spans more than 40,000 works by leading international artists.

The presentation extends to the UBS Art Studio, where another Bernhardt screenprint anchors the installation alongside her Magic Mushroom Beanbag works. Art by Anne Collier, Michael Craig-Martin, Do Ho Suh and Pae White will also be displayed. The UBS Art Studio will feature hands-on workshops inspired by the exhibition’s Pop Art themes and is open to all Art Basel Miami Beach ticket holders.

UBS will host guided tours of the Lounge and Art Studio on Wednesday, December 3 at 3:30 p.m. and Thursday, December 4 at 2 p.m.
