Tradewind Aviation is tapping into one of the Caribbean’s most distinctive seasonal celebrations with the launch of its first-ever “Christmas in July” flights to Virgin Gorda. The limited-time service will operate from San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) from July 19–26, 2026, marking the first time the airline has programmed dedicated lift timed to the island's annual mid-summer celebration.

Expanding Demand Through Experiential Travel
The new route signals a strategic expansion for the brand, which traditionally operates up to six daily flights to Virgin Gorda during the peak winter season from mid-December through mid-May. By introducing dedicated flights for “Christmas in July,” Tradewind is extending demand into the traditional low season while positioning itself at the intersection of experiential travel and culturally driven destination trends.

During this festive week, the island comes alive with a vibrant energy, blending local traditions with premium leisure experiences. Travelers booking these special summer flights can look forward to a curated itinerary of island-wide events:
Beach Parties & Live Music: A full week of festivities anchored by lively entertainment and signature “Christmas on the sand” celebrations.
On-the-Water Experiences: Exclusive boat days and sunset sailing events featuring live DJs, entertainment, and social gatherings on the Caribbean waters.
Curated Dining & Nightlife: Themed dinners, unique pop-up menus, and late-night beach club events hosted across the island.
High-Energy Finale: A massive closing weekend celebration that brings together locals and visitors alike for the largest festivities of the week.
Celebrating 25 Years of Elevated Service
The announcement comes as Tradewind Aviation celebrates its 25th anniversary. Founded in 2001 by brothers Eric and David Zipkin, the premier regional airline has built a reputation for delivering premium private and scheduled flight experiences across North America and the Caribbean, serving top destinations such as St. Barths, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and the Bahamas.

Passengers flying to the Caribbean can also take advantage of Tradewind's interline agreement with JetBlue, which allows for seamless connectivity and convenient luggage transfer. Additionally, the airline has maintained a strict commitment to sustainability since 2022, operating a carbon offset program that ensures 100% of its flights meet a Level 1 Carbon Neutral rating.
