Rock climbing is a workout that builds strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, and focus while breaking up the usual gym routine. You don’t need experience to get started, either. Indoor climbing gyms offer challenges for every ability, making it an accessible way to stay active, try something new, and push yourself at your own pace.
For this reason, we decided to create an indoor climbing guide. Get ready for some fun, rain or sunshine, as these are all indoor venues!

Velocity offers the broadest selection of climbing disciplines among the three gyms. According to a facility profile published by Climbing Business Journal, the gym has approximately 23,000 square feet of climbing surface, more than 100 routes, two floors of bouldering, and roped walls reaching 60 feet. Its terrain accommodates top-rope, lead, speed, and auto-belay climbing, along with a Kilter Board and a replica of the competition bouldering wall used in Innsbruck, Austria.
First-time climbers can book a $30 introductory class that includes approximately one hour of instruction, all necessary equipment, and access to the gym for the remainder of the day. The facility lists 12 auto-belays, 29 top-rope stations, between 17 and 20 lead-climbing lanes, a bouldering cave, and a 12-by-12-foot Kilter Board.
