Tom Cotter Brings Stand-Up Comedy to Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

Stand-up comedian Tom Cotter takes the stage at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Friday, January 9, at 8 p.m., as part of the Aventura Comedy Series presented by the City of Aventura. The performance features Cotter’s fast-paced humor and sharp observational style, built on decades of national and international touring.
Cotter is widely known for his appearance on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, where he became the first comedian to reach the finals. His career predates that moment by years, with performances across the United States and abroad, including appearances in London and on British television. He has received top honors at major comedy competitions such as the Seattle International Comedy Competition and the Boston Comedy Festival, and was named Best Stand-Up at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival.
His television and radio credits include The Tonight Show, Last Comic Standing, multiple Comedy Central Presents… Tom Cotter specials, Comics Unleashed, The Late Late Show, Gotham Comedy Live on AXS-TV, and The Howard Stern Show. Known for rapid-fire delivery, wordplay, and satire, Cotter continues to be a regular presence on comedy stages nationwide.
The evening opens with comedian Tom McTiernan, a veteran performer who has appeared at major comedy clubs including Comic Strip Live, Gotham Comedy Club, and the Improv. McTiernan’s television credits include Comedy Central, NBC’s Friday Night, and Gotham Comedy Live, and he has opened for performers such as Brian Regan, Jeff Dunham, and Tom Jones.
