Travelling is one of life’s greatest luxuries. When you go away, you forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life, switching off from daily stresses and immersing yourself in new surroundings. You get to experience different cultures, try different cuisines, see new landscapes and spend quality time with the people you are going away with - or quality alone time, if you’re solo travelling.

The beauty of travel is that there are so many different ways you can travel. You can go on an adventure and book a road trip, or you could go for complete relaxation and organise a spa break. In the middle, there are walking holidays in Europe, where you can explore whilst hiking, but take it at a leisurely pace - perfect as a wellness break.

Keep on reading for our brief guide on three ways to travel.

Hiking Trip - Wellness

Walking holidays are becoming increasingly popular, especially for those who want to balance fitness with travel. A hiking trip in Europe allows you to soak up incredible scenery, spend countless hours catching up with your travellers (without technology interrupting you) and be active at the same time - it ticks all the boxes for a wellness break. It’s the perfect option if you’re looking to recharge, reconnect with nature, and enjoy a sense of calm while still having a sense of travel and exploration each day.

Road Trip - Adventure

A road trip is great fun and something everyone should do at one point in their life. It gives you the freedom to see multiple destinations in one journey, trying new things at each stop - one stop could be an award-winning restaurant, then the next, you could book a skydive. When it comes to a road trip, you can plan one to a strict schedule, or you can have a rough idea and enjoy the flexibility a road trip can bring. Before you start your adventure, make sure you put together a great playlist which you can listen to on Spotify - this helps increase the energy when you are having tired days.

Spa Break - Relaxation

On the flip side of an adventure, you have a trip which offers complete relaxation, and that is a spa break. This type of getaway is all about switching off, slowing down, and treating yourself to some much-needed self-care. From soothing massages and thermal pools to yoga classes and mindfulness sessions, a spa retreat gives you the chance to fully recharge both body and mind. Every country has a whole range of award-winning spas, so it’s about finding the one that best suits your needs. Some focus on luxury and indulgence, with world-class treatments and fine dining, while others lean into wellness, offering holistic therapies, meditation, and healthy cuisine.

What type of breakaway do you think you will be doing next year? Do you have a preference when it comes to adventure, wellness or complete relaxation? What is your favourite country to visit? Let us know in the comment box below. We look forward to hearing from you.
