Following a months-long closure, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami is set to reopen on December 8 after completing a $100 million renovation that redefines every corner of the 17-acre oceanfront resort.

The transformation—led by Gencom, with design teams Hart Howerton, Design Agency, and Chapi Chapo Design—introduces fully redesigned guest rooms and suites, two new restaurant concepts, an upgraded spa, expanded fitness facilities, and refreshed public and retail spaces. The project reflects the island’s coastal beauty and relaxed sophistication while maintaining the brand’s signature elegance.

Modernized Accommodations

Guest rooms and suites have been completely reimagined with bespoke furnishings, natural textures, and tones inspired by the sea and sand. Studio suites now feature kitchenettes, while residential suites include full kitchens and spacious living areas. Bathrooms are redesigned with natural stone finishes, walk-in showers, and deep soaking tubs. The lobby now offers an open layout with sculptural lighting, refined finishes, and uninterrupted ocean views.

Revitalized Outdoor Spaces

Terraces, pool decks, and landscaped gardens have been redesigned to connect seamlessly with the shoreline. New private cabanas, shaded lounges, and expanded patios offer tranquil spaces for relaxation. Families can enjoy the new Ritz Kids Club, featuring interactive games and a calming, nature-inspired design.

Wellness and Fitness

The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has been re-envisioned as a serene retreat inspired by local mangroves and limestone. It features a new Spa Garden, co-ed lounge, and curated retail partners including Late Checkout. The resort’s fitness center has expanded through a partnership with Tremble, offering specialized classes focused on movement, strength, and mindfulness.

New Dining Experiences

The resort introduces two signature restaurants:

  • Luma – Replacing Lightkeepers, this Italian-inspired concept blends coastal tradition with modern design.

  • Paralía – Replacing Cantina Beach, this Aegean-inspired venue highlights Greek and Turkish influences with Florida-sourced seafood and produce.

Along the shoreline, Dune Beach Bar (formerly Dune Burgers on the Beach) offers a relaxed setting by day and a lively evening escape. The reimagined Rum Bar debuts as an elegant lobby lounge serving craft cocktails and small plates. Returning outlets Scoop and Stefano’s feature refreshed looks—Scoop as a classic ice cream stand, and Stefano’s offering wood-fired pizzas in an expanded outdoor space.

Looking Ahead

“The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has long been a place where unforgettable memories are made,” said Derek Flint, Market General Manager. “This transformation honors our history while creating new experiences for today’s luxury traveler.”

Reservations are open for stays beginning December 8, inviting guests to experience the resort’s next chapter. Ahead of reopening, the property has partnered with TUMI and artist Louis-Nicolas Darbon on a limited-edition luggage collaboration, showcased in immersive events in New York and Miami, offering a first look at the resort’s design inspiration and renewed spirit.
