The LOOP Fort Lauderdale Beach to Host “Dog Days of Summer” Movie Series



The LOOP invites the community and their furry companions to the Movies by Moonlight “Dog Days of Summer” series on the fourth Friday of the month, July 22, Aug. 26 and Sept. 23. Presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale Beach Improvement District (BID), the night of four-legged fun is hosted by the dynamic mom and pup duo, Ana and Teddy, behind the award-winning Instagram @TourwithTeddy and blog "Living A Fairytail."

Locals and visitors of all ages are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a favorite movie date to the main lawn at Las Olas Oceanside Park. Come early to dine at one of Fort Lauderdale Beach’s restaurants or bring a picnic for dinner under the stars. All movies begin at 8 p.m.


A people and pets’ marketplace will feature new and returning vendors, ranging from pet services to accessories.


The July 22 event will feature a Pet Fashion Contest sponsored by Petit Pups Pawtique and the event on Aug. 26 will feature a Back-to-School fashion show sponsored by Salon Bark and The Pretty Nomad along with a Dög Pawrignon Champagne Bar for dogs, sponsored by The W Fort Lauderdale.


Movie snacks and drinks are available to purchase onsite; limited chairs and picnic blankets are available to borrow. All pre-registered children under the age of ten will received a complimentary bag of popcorn courtesy of the respective evenings presenting sponsors, Petwell Clinics, New York Life and WE Florida Financial Credit Union.

Pups will chow down on complimentary doggie dinners sponsored by Yum Pup. Pet Hydration Stations from PetWell Clinic Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Pines, and SupPup Selfie Stations sponsored by Blue Moon Adventures add to the four-legged fun.

Each month, guests will have the opportunity to purchase a “Golden Ticket” ($10) for the chance to win a Yappy Hour VIP Bottle Service ($100 max value towards cocktails and bites) from W Fort Lauderdale, or a two-day, one-night stay at some of Fort Lauderdale’s pet-friendly hotels including Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach, the Kimpton Goodland Hotel, and AC Marriott Fort Lauderdale Beach.

At each event, Yum Pup is offering guests the opportunity to win a box of four 1lb bags of dog food of various flavors when they share a photo from the event on Instagram tag #theloopflb and @yumpup.

  • Friday, Aug. 26, 8 p.m. | Best in Show (Rated PG) sponsored by New York Life and hosted by Tour with Teddy in honor of National Dog Day

At the prestigious Mayflower Dog Show, a “documentary film crew” captures the excitement and tension displayed by the eccentric participants in the outrageously hilarious satire Best In Show. This biting send-up exposes the wondrously diverse dog owners who travel from all over America to showcase their four-legged contenders.

  • Friday, Sept. 23, 8 p.m. | The Secret Life of Pets (Rated PG) sponsored by WE Florida Financial

Two mismatched mutts get lost in New York City due to their feuding and must work together to find their way home. During their journey, they encounter a vicious bunny who plans to lead a group of abandoned pets on a mission of revenge against humanity.
