The Gabriel South Beach featured in TIME's list of world’s greatest places

Updated: Dec 14, 2022

It was announced by TIME that The Gabriel South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton was included in the outlet’s third annual list of the World’s Greatest Places, which highlights 50 extraordinary travel destinations around the world.

To compile this list, TIME solicited nominations of places—including countries, regions, cities and towns—from its international network of correspondents and contributors, with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences. Gabriel South Beach was featured as one of the exciting new hotels in Miami, which earned a spot on this year’s list.

“To be included in TIME’s listing of World’s Greatest Places within a year of opening The Gabriel South Beach is an honor,” said Nicholas Siracusa, General Manager at The Gabriel South Beach. “This accolade is attributed to our fantastic team who work daily to create experiences for travelers visiting Miami, and to our guests, who leave the hotel with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.”

To assemble the annual list of the World’s Greatest Places, TIME solicited nominations across a variety of categories, such as museums, parks, bars, restaurants, theme parks, cruises and hotels, from the publication’s editors and correspondents around the world as well as dozens of industry experts. The team of experts evaluated each category based on key factors, including quality, originality, innovation, sustainability and influence. The Gabriel South Beach was included alongside other noteworthy destinations within Miami’s buzzworthy metropolitan area.

The Gabriel South Beach is a boutique hotel located on Ocean Drive in South Beach. The picturesque property has two pools, including a show-stopping, glass bottom pool on the roof overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and is comprised of three individual historic buildings—including the Park Central Hotel of Desi Arnaz’s conga line fame, Heathcote Apartments and the Imperial Hotel—presenting travelers with the classic Art Deco design and architecture synonymous with Miami Beach. Guests will find a 30-foot-tall mural by the French-born, Los Angeles-based street artist Mr. Brainwash, known for his large-scale installations and prints of celebrities like Madonna, Kate Moss, and Marilyn Monroe and his practice of subverting cultural iconography similar to Andy Warhol and Banksy. The hotel blends Art Deco modernism with tropical allure.

The Gabriel South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton is part of Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest-loyalty program for Hilton's 18 world-class brands.

The full TIME World’s Greatest Places list will be featured in the July 25, 2022 double issue of TIME, available on newsstands on Friday, July 15. For additional information about The Gabriel South Beach, visit thegabrielsouthbeach.com.
