The Best Summer Yet in Greater Miami and Miami Beach

It's a big summer in Miami. New hotels, new restaurants, and a city with a lot going on right now — here's what you need to know.

From the debut of luxury hotels and neighborhood boutique properties to immersive museum exhibitions, expanded transportation options and preparations for FIFA World Cup 26â„¢, Greater Miami and Miami Beach is experiencing one of its most active periods of development in recent years.
"Miami isn't just evolving; it's setting the pace," said David Whitaker, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. "The scale of investment, the strength of new development and the international attention continue to define our position at the forefront of travel and entertainment."
The hospitality sector continues to lead that growth.
Miami Beach welcomed the opening of UNFRAMED, Autograph Collection, the first premium lifestyle hotel to debut on Washington Avenue in more than a decade. Designed by architect Rudy Ricciotti with interiors by Gulla Jónsdóttir, the 149-room property includes private balconies and terraces throughout,  a tranquil open-air atrium and Vilebrequin La Plage, a Riviera-inspired restaurant and poolside destination on the rooftop.
In Brickell, the former Conrad Miami has been transformed into Brickell Arch, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Miami, joining Marriott Bonvoy's Luxury Collection portfolio. The reimagined property features 201 guest rooms overlooking Biscayne Bay, a rooftop pool terrace, wellness experiences at Leaf Spa by K'alma and ADRIFT Mare, a Mediterranean concept from Michelin-starred chef David Myers.
Neighborhood-driven hospitality is also expanding.
Little Havana recently welcomed El JardÃn Inn, an 18-key boutique property developed from a renovated multifamily building. Located near Calle Ocho, the hotel incorporates local art installations, community programming and suite-style accommodations designed for longer stays.
Several established luxury resorts have completed significant upgrades.
Fontainebleau Miami Beach unveiled two new Presidential Suites and completed renovations throughout its Versailles Tower accommodations, while The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami reopened its redesigned 30,000-square-foot spa as part of a broader $100 million property transformation. Acqualina Resort & Residences is celebrating its 20th anniversary with new wellness offerings, refreshed dining experiences and enhanced family programming.
The visitor experience is evolving beyond hotels.
Miami International Airport introduced Wait N' Rest, the airport's first in-terminal sleep room concept, providing travelers with private accommodations and shower access between flights. A second location is planned later this year.
Across Miami Beach, public spaces and cultural landmarks continue to expand. During Miami Beach Pride, city leaders unveiled a relocated LGBTQIA+ crosswalk installation in Lummus Park and reestablished the Gay Beach area near 12th Street through a partnership involving Palace South Beach, Boucher Brothers and the city's LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee.
Faena Theater premiered OBSESSION, a new resident production combining live music, choreography and immersive visual effects, while Gale Miami Hotel & Residences introduced the 400 Vinyl Room, a listening lounge inspired by Tokyo's vinyl bar culture and the historic 400 Club at Yamashiro Hollywood.
Museums and cultural institutions are contributing their own momentum.
The Bass reopened its historic Rotunda in Collins Park following a $5.79 million renovation, creating a dedicated arts space for exhibitions and public programming. HistoryMiami Museum has reintroduced itself as the Museum of Miami, reflecting the city's growing international identity while maintaining its focus on preserving local history.
Meanwhile, Museum of Sex Miami debuted "Utopia: Three Centuries of Sexuality in American Cults and Communes," a large-scale exhibition featuring more than 300 artifacts and multimedia installations.
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science expanded its lineup with the planetarium experience "How to Die in Space: An Interactive Adventure Through the Cosmos" and "Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits," an exhibition examining the science behind high-performance athletic pursuits.
Miami Children's Museum launched Playful Putters, an interactive mini-golf exhibit, and is preparing to debut Plant Soccer, an educational environment inspired by the global popularity of the sport. Superblue Miami is marking its fifth anniversary, continuing its role as one of the city's leading immersive art destinations.
The culinary landscape remains equally active.
Miami Beach welcomed several high-profile restaurant openings, including Leonardo, a restaurant and lounge inspired by mid-century Italian social dining culture, and GAIA, the internationally known Greek-Mediterranean concept making its U.S. debut. Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel recently unveiled Solei Beach Club, a new oceanfront venue inspired by the Mediterranean coast.
In Wynwood, Guadalajara-based concept Cotidiano opened its first U.S. location, while CervecerÃa La Tropical celebrated its fifth anniversary with a refreshed menu developed alongside acclaimed Miami chef Cindy Hutson.
Nearby, Fooq's has returned in Little River with a new location serving wood-fired, Persian-influenced cuisine and an accompanying late-night lounge.
Elsewhere, Mottai debuted at The Plaza Coral Gables as the first U.S. concept from Brazil's Attivo Group, while The Wagyu Bar reopened in Coral Gables with an expanded focus on premium beef selections from around the world. Takay is preparing to join the market with an intimate omakase experience on Coral Way.
Transportation investments are also strengthening access throughout the destination.
Norwegian Cruise Line recently launched Norwegian Luna from PortMiami, while Margaritaville at Sea unveiled plans for Beachcomber, a family-focused vessel scheduled to begin sailing from Miami in 2027.
On land, Freebee expanded its all-electric transportation fleet in downtown Miami through its partnership with the Miami Downtown Development Authority, and Brightline announced integration with the Amadeus Travel Platform, making its rail service more accessible to travel advisors and booking partners worldwide.
As the destination prepares to welcome visitors for a summer filled with cultural programming, Pride celebrations and FIFA World Cup 26â„¢ festivities, Greater Miami and Miami Beach continue to build on their reputation as a global center for hospitality, entertainment, dining and the arts.
