The Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach will present the exhibition Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait from May 20 through July 19, 2026, coinciding with the FIFA World Cup 2026 soccer matches and Fan Festival events taking place in the city.

The exhibition features a two-channel film installation conceived by artists Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno that focuses on French soccer player Zinédine Zidane, using the language of contemporary spectacle to reconsider the conventions of portraiture.

Installed across two large projections, one screen presents a composed cinematic edit that incorporates the live television broadcast of a match, while the other shows unembellished close-up footage captured by a dedicated camera, underscoring the contrast between different modes of image-making.

More information about the exhibition is available on The Bass website; visitors can learn more and plan their visit online.
