The Bass Announces March Programs and New Rotunda Gallery in Miami Beach
The Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach has announced a series of March programs alongside the opening of The Rotunda, a new satellite gallery in Collins Park that will offer free admission year round.
Artist Talk With Kennedy Yanko on March 19
Sculptor and installation artist Kennedy Yanko will join The Bass during Third Thursday on March 19 for a public conversation about her sculptural process and large scale works created from found metal and paint skin. Learn more.
The event will be moderated by writer and poet Tom Healy, a trustee at The Bass, who will guide a discussion of the physical and performative aspects of Yanko’s practice and the ways in which she challenges conventional ideas of material and form.
Rotunda Satellite Gallery to Open March 28

The launch of The Rotunda will coincide with The Bass “Art Outside” Annual Picnic in Collins Park, connecting the new gallery to the museum’s outdoor programming and free community activities.
'Art Outside' Annual Picnic Returns to Collins Park
The Bass “Art Outside” Annual Picnic will take place on March 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Collins Park, offering free art making activities, live music and community activations. RSVP online.
Programming will include projects led by The Bass Creativity Center, its Teen Board and partners such as Paloma Arts Inc and Everybody Draw Everybody, along with performances by Bop Shop Brass and DJ SAMIHEAD D and activations from local groups including Raw Figs and Backgammon Social.
Teen Art Exhibition Explores Theme of Time
The Bass Creativity Center will present the 2026 Teen Art Exhibition on March 19 from 6 to 9 p.m., showcasing work by young artists responding to the theme of “Time.” Add to calendar.
The exhibition highlights how teenagers interpret shifting experiences of time in South Florida and beyond, reflecting on how moments are captured during adolescence.
Spring Education Programs for Children and Families
Spring Art Camps at The Bass Creativity Center will run March 23 to 27 for children ages 4 to 12, with full day sessions and aftercare available. Register here.
Participants will work with teaching artists on projects in sculpture, painting and design, focusing on hands on activities that encourage experimentation and creative confidence.
The Bass is also continuing its Bass Babies program through April 30, a weekly art series for children ages 2 to 4 and their caregivers that combines sensory art activities with early learning skills. Learn more.
Sessions are led by teaching artist Paloma Dueñas and introduce toddlers to basic art concepts through the integration of visual art and music.
New and Ongoing Exhibitions at The Bass
“Jack Pierson: The Miami Years” is now on view through August 16, 2026, marking the first exhibition to focus on Miami’s influence on the artist’s life and practice, from South Beach’s landscape to its nightlife and atmosphere of escape. Plan your visit.
