Tequila Ocho isn’t just a spirit—it’s a celebration of place. From the mineral-rich soils of Los Altos de Jalisco to each carefully harvested Blue Weber agave, every bottle reflects the unique character of a single estate and vintage. Since 2008, Tequila Ocho has been redefining how tequila is understood, championing the idea that terroir—so essential in wine—matters just as much in Mexico’s most iconic spirit.

Origins
The story of Tequila Ocho begins with a shared vision between two pioneers: Carlos Camarena, a third-generation master tequilero, and Tomas Estes, a legendary advocate of tequila culture in Europe. United by a passion for agave spirits, they set out to prove that tequila could reflect the land it comes from—down to the specific field and harvest. This idea, radical at the time, laid the foundation for what would become the world’s first single-field vintage tequila.
Made by Hand
Tequila Ocho continues to be produced with traditional, artisanal methods. Overripe agaves from the Golden Triangle of Los Altos de Jalisco are harvested by hand, slow-roasted in centuries-old brick ovens, fermented using natural airborne yeast, and distilled at low temperatures. The result is a spirit that captures the full essence of the agave plant—pure, bold, and expressive. Made only with agave, water, and wild yeast, Ocho’s commitment to simplicity and craft is uncompromising.
Tasting Notes
Each sip of Tequila Ocho Plata delivers crisp agave flavors with lively citrus, white pepper, and fresh herbs. Its unaged, crystal-clear body offers a bold and vibrant character, with a thick, harmonious finish. At 40% ABV, it’s both powerful and elegant—a true expression of terroir in tequila form.
The Range
Tequila Ocho offers a core lineup of carefully aged expressions:
Plata: Bursting with cooked agave, citrus, and peppery minerality—bright and fresh.
Reposado: Aged briefly in oak, introducing warm vanilla and sweet spice while keeping agave front and center.
Añejo: A deeper experience with layers of cacao, coffee, and a richer, more rounded agave note.
Extra Añejo: A luxurious, custard-like tequila often described as a “liquid dessert,” with creamy texture and depth.
In addition, Tequila Ocho releases small-batch, single-barrel and cask-strength editions each year, pushing the boundaries of tequila innovation while staying rooted in tradition.
