Swatch has introduced the latest chapter of its ongoing Art Journey with the launch of the Swatch x Guggenheim Collection, a new series of watches inspired by major works of 20th-century art. Developed in collaboration with the Guggenheim New York and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the collection brings together art, design, and watchmaking through four distinct timepieces.

The release marks the first time works by Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Paul Klee, and Jackson Pollock have been interpreted within the Swatch Art Journey. Each watch draws directly from a specific artwork currently held by one of the two Guggenheim institutions, creating a visual dialogue that spans both sides of the Atlantic.

Degas’s Dancers is inspired by Dancers in Green and Yellow (1903), on view at the Guggenheim New York. The design focuses on cropped details of a ballerina’s feet on the dial, while the straps extend the composition with flowing figures and layered tutus in green and yellow tones.

Monet’s Palazzo Ducale references The Palazzo Ducale, Seen from San Giorgio Maggiore (1908), also at the Guggenheim New York. The dial features Monet’s rendering of the Venetian landmark, with straps reflecting the shifting light of the lagoon. After exposure to UV light, the dial reveals a glowing orange effect, adding an unexpected visual element tied to Venice’s artistic mythology.

Klee’s Bavarian Don Giovanni takes its cue from Paul Klee’s The Bavarian Don Giovanni (1919). The central figure appears on the dial, while names from the original composition run along the straps. A color-changing calendar window adds a subtle kinetic detail to the design.

Pollock’s Alchemy draws from Alchemy (1947), part of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. The watch captures Pollock’s signature drip technique across both dial and strap, translating the painting’s energy into a wearable form.

Together, the four watches extend Swatch’s long-running engagement with fine art, positioning iconic museum works within everyday objects while maintaining a clear connection to their original context.
