Sun-Kissed and Stylish: A Girls-Only Surf Escape in Miami

Welcome to majestic Miami. Here on the East Coast, where the waves roll and the locals shine with a sun-kissed glow, there is a potential for endless and unmatched fun year-round. Did someone say girls-only surf escape?

Miami is a spot that bursts with life, whenever you choose to visit. Boasting contagious big-city life vibes, and paired with a splash of the tropical, it’s abundant with beauty. Plus, the everyday sunshine certainly doesn’t do it any harm. The locals stay fit, and the fashion screams balmy beachside living.

Then at night, world-class foodie-praised restaurants serve some of the best eats around. Thanks to the city’s beautiful Latin influence and kaleidoscope of cultures, the flavours are diverse and the quality - worth writing home about! And known for its lively nightlife and party atmosphere, a girls-only escape is more than catered for.

Finding the Perfect Surf Spot

Of course if you’re planning a surf trip, one of the most important things for you will be the beaches and the waves. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of either. Miami's beaches are renowned for their beautiful, warm waters and consistent waves. We’re talking about white sand, palm-lined shores and bright blue water.

Head to South Beach - a popular choice with locals and tourists, where consistent waves and a vibrant atmosphere serve up full days of surfing perfection. This is a beach of powder-white sands and people watching.

Otherwise, if you’ve got beginners in your group, try 1st Street Jetty, where smaller waves and a protected area offer sublime conditions. For the experienced surfers, South Pointe Pier offers bigger waves and thrilling rides. North of Miami Beach, Haulover Beach Park provides a spacious, uncrowded area. If you're willing to venture a bit further, head to the gorgeous Fort Pierce Inlet State Park or Pompano Beach for more challenging surf breaks.

Essential Gear for Sun-Kissed Surfer Girls

With a good-looking city and gorgeous beaches, come beautiful locals. Miami is all about skimpy clothing, name-brand essentials and bold colours. Here’s some other things you should know about fashion in Miami: bikinis are outfits, summer is eternal, bright is better and you can’t take too long to pick the perfect fit.

So before heading to Miami on your girls-only adventure, make sure you spend enough time packing for the occasion. Bring out your best surf bikinis, pack plenty of accessories, pull out those bright dresses from the back of your wardrobe and don’t forget to bring a selection of your best swimwear for sunbathing, brunching, surfing and anything else you feel like doing in true Miami style.

Miami Activities During Surfing Down Time

Planning the rest of your surf escape is easy peasy, because there’s just so much to see and do in this spirited city.

Take a Boat Tour to Key Biscayne

Tear yourself away from a day of surfing and hop on a boat tour to visit the nearby island of Key Biscayne. Enjoy the scenic views, relax on the beautiful beaches, and explore attractions like Crandon Park or the Cape Florida Lighthouse.

Explore Wynwood Walls

Head to vibrant Wynwood and immerse yourself in its colorful street art scene at the open-air museum featuring large-scale murals by renowned artists. Snap some Instagram-worthy photos, and explore the trendy shops, galleries, and cafes.

Indulge in Some Shopping

Miami is a shopper's paradise. Visit Lincoln Road Mall, a pedestrian street in South Beach, lined with shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. For high-end shopping, head to the upscale Bal Harbour Shops or the Design District.

Experience the Nightlife

You haven’t seen nightlife like that in Miami. Dance the night away at world-class nightclubs in South Beach, such as LIV or Story. Enjoy live music at venues like the Fillmore Miami Beach or the American Airlines Arena.

Pamper Yourselves at a Spa

Treat yourselves to some relaxation and rejuvenation at one of Miami's luxurious spas. Indulge in massages, facials, and other spa treatments influenced by different cultures, such as traditional Ayurvedic treatments.
