Subaru of Pembroke Pines Partners with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® and Memorial Hospital West Donates Blankets and Care Kits to Cancer Patients

Updated: Aug 20

As part of its Subaru Loves to Care initiative, Subaru of Pembroke Pines partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® and Memorial Hospital West once again to share warmth, love and support for patients battling cancer. Approximately every three minutes, a person in the U.S. is diagnosed with a blood cancer like Leukemia, Lymphoma or Myeloma and the recovery can be long, often leaving them feeling weak, cold and isolated.

On Friday, July 19, Subaru team members delivered blankets, care kits and handwritten “messages of hope” written by Subaru associates and customers to cancer patients at Memorial West Hospital. The donation included more than 80 blankets and 12 care kits containing socks, an eye mask, coloring books and a collapsable water bottle to provide comfort to those undergoing treatment. As part of Loves to Care month in June, Subaru of Pembroke Pines and its customers wrote “messages of hope” to provide encouragement to cancer patients and their families. Executives and nurses from Memorial Hospital West were present to accept the donation from Sales Manager Bryan Medina and several representatives from the Subaru of Pembroke Pines team.

“We are proud to donate blankets, care kits and ‘messages of hope’ to patients undergoing cancer treatment at Memorial Hospital West,” said Medina. “These gifts are intended to provide warmth and encouragement to cancer patients, reminding them and their families that they are not alone in their journeys. Our ongoing partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Memorial Hospital West underscores Subaru’s core values, strengthening our ties between the dealership, the hospital and the community.”
