This summer The LOOP invites everyone under the sun to cool down in Fort Lauderdale’s oceanfront backyard with a series of events June through Sept. Highlights include: “LeAnn Rimes the Story…So Far Tour,” presented by Fort Lauderdale LIVE! and Pride Fort Lauderdale; the Movies by Moonlight “Dog Days of Summer” series; Elevate Family Health & Wellness Day; Las Olas Oceanside Park Farmers, Antiques and Artisan Market and Friday Night Soundwaves.


Events to Take Place Through Sept. 2022 Including the “LeAnn Rimes the Story…So Far Tour”


Special events include:

ELEVATE Family Health & Wellness Day | June 12, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.


Las Olas Oceanside Park, in partnership with FLIPANY, the City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department and Children’s Services Council of Broward County, invites the community to join them for the inaugural ELEVATE Family Health & Wellness Day on Sunday, June 12.


Coinciding with the annual National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) Family Health & Fitness Day, ELEVATE promotes the importance of parks and recreation in keeping communities active, healthy, and connected. The event and activities will focus on five pillars of health: mental, physical, spiritual, financial and sustainability for a healthy planet.


Activities include sample group fitness classes for children, teens and adults, health, wellness and pet care vendors, health screenings, healthy food options, educational demonstrations, age-appropriate games and activities, prizes, giveaways and more.


The schedule of activities includes:


  • 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.: DJ Purple Sun Radio – curator of infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere

  • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: P.E. X-Games for all ages

  • 10:20 – 10:25 a.m.: Soca Bounce Fitness Demonstration – a fun, high energy and low impact, interval training workout

  • 10:30 – 11 a.m.: Chair Yoga for active adults with Carolina Figares

  • 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Consultations with Latanya Hopson, Diversity-Equity-Inclusion Activitist, Health Disparity Advocate and Holistic Lifestyle Consultant

Ongoing activities includes:

  • New York Life#LoveInActionWall – The New York Life #LoveInActionWall will give attendees an opportunity to share in words or pictures the times love took action in their lives

  • WE Florida Financial Credit Union – Children's money management, book reading and games; teens financial literacy app

  • LensCrafters – Eye exams, activities for children, contests, and more

  • Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue (FLFR) – CPR classes for all ages

With a mission is to provide leadership, advocacy, and resources necessary to enhance the lives of the children and families, the Children’s Services Council of Broward County will present a Family Resource Fair Zone. More than a dozen social service agencies and nonprofits will populate the area to distribute information, including representatives from The Advocacy Network on Disabilities; Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center; Children’s Services Council of Broward Co.; City of Fort Lauderdale Parks & Recreation Department; Family Success Center; Florida KidCare; FLIPANY; HandsOn Broward; The Pride Center at Equality Park; SunServe, and more to be announced.


OneBlood will be on-site offering guests an opportunity to make a difference with a blood donation. OneBlood is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) community asset responsible for providing safe, available, and affordable blood to more than 200 hospital partners and their patients.


Healthy food vendors include Fresh Organics & More, ItalKing Coconut Water, My Hot Vegan, and The Juice Somm.

Movies by Moonlight “Dog Days of Summer” Series Presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale Beach Improvement District (BID) | July 22, Aug. 26 and Sept. 23


The LOOP invites the community and their furry companions to the Movies by Moonlight “Dog Days of Summer” series on the fourth Friday of the month, July 22, Aug. 26 and Sept. 23. The night of four-legged fun is hosted by the dynamic mom and pup duo, Ana and Teddy, behind the award-winning Instagram @TourwithTeddy and blog "Living A Fairytail."


Locals and visitors of all ages are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a favorite movie date to the main lawn at Las Olas Oceanside Park. Come early to dine at one of Fort Lauderdale Beach’s restaurants or bring a picnic for dinner under the stars. All movies begin at sunset.


Movie snacks and drinks are available to purchase onsite; limited chairs and picnic blankets are available to borrow. As part of LauderDEALS, Visit Lauderdale’s summer savings campaign, guests attending will receive complimentary bottle of water with any candy or popcorn purchase. All pre-registered children under the age of ten will received a complimentary bag of popcorn courtesy of WE Florida Financial Credit Union. Friday Night Sound Waves | Fridays, through July 1 , 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.


Friday Night Sound Waves, the free weekly concert series presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Beach Business Improvement District, closes out its 7th season on July 1. Friday Night Sound Waves welcomes locals, visitors, the young and the young at heart to enjoy some of South Florida’s best musical talents, performing an eclectic range of genres, including jazz, Latin, country, top 40, indie, oldies and classic rock. Returning this season is the Friday Night Sound Waves Dance Party powered by Florida Power & Light (FPL) during the band break.


Attendees are invited to come early to enjoy a pre-concert lawn games and shop the night market, which provides a rotation of food, drinks and handmade crafts, clothing, and accessories, from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m.

June 17GDR, Greatest Decades of Rock, 80's/90's Classic Rock – GDR Greatest Decades of Rock are joining Friday Night Sound Waves listeners, to deliver the all-time classic hits of the 70s and 80s. June 24 – Beatlemaniax USA, A Beatles Tribute Band – Presented by Florida Power & Light Global Beatles Day – In celebration of Global Beatles Day, we welcome BEATLEMANIAX-USA. The BEATLEMANIAX-USA perform the Beatles classic songs from their “touring years”, 1962-1966 and recreate songs from the “studio years” 1967-1970 which were never performed in concert by The Beatles themselves.

Las Olas Oceanside Park Farmers, Antiques and Artisan Market | Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.


Take in breathtaking views of the beach and enjoy the ocean breeze while perusing an eclectic array of traditional market fare. Locals and visitors alike are invited to the lively Las Olas Oceanside Park Farmers, Antiques and Artisan Market every Saturday and on select Sundays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Visitors will delight in a fine selection of fresh produce, cheese, baked items, plants, handmade goods, jewelry and more from local vendors.


Guests can start their morning off with Yoga Fusion on the main lawn hosted by Lisa Pumper, of the Yoga Community of South Florida, from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Yoga on the Lawn is $10 advance / $15 day of (cash only). July through September, children under 12 flow free with a paid adult participant.
