Stanek Gallery Expands to Miami’s Little River Neighborhood, Bringing Contemporary Art to South Florida

Philadelphia’s esteemed Stanek Gallery, known for its expertly curated selection of contemporary art and dynamic exhibitions, is expanding its reach with a new location in Miami's vibrant Little River neighborhood. Opening on October 19, 2024, this marks the gallery’s second location, following its success as a cornerstone of Philadelphia’s thriving art scene.

James Brantley, Been to the Mountain Top, 2024. Acrylic on canvas, 30 × 40 in (76.2 × 101.6 cm). Unique work, includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Currently on view in Signs of Life, Oct 5–Nov 23, 2024. Price: US$4,500.

Founded by owner and director Katherine Stanek, the gallery has built a reputation for its visionary approach to curation, community engagement, and fostering cultural dialogue. Over half of the gallery’s featured artists are graduates of prominent Philadelphia art institutions, with their work deeply rooted in the city's creative spirit. The decision to open in Miami stems from the city's reputation as a global art hub, making it a fitting location to showcase talent from Philadelphia, across the U.S., and Europe.

"Our expansion into Miami's esteemed art market is thanks to the growth we've experienced in Philadelphia, supported by our community of artists, patrons, businesses, and art lovers," said Stanek. "We will bring Philadelphia's vibrant spirit to Miami, showcasing our rich history and determination."

The new Miami gallery will feature a masterfully curated collection tailored to the Southeast, including works by renowned artists such as Michael Bartmann, Robert Birmelin, Jacqueline Boyd, and Carson Fox, among others. In keeping with Stanek Gallery’s commitment to fostering community, the Miami location will also highlight local South Florida artists, blending regional creativity with internationally acclaimed works to offer unique cultural experiences in both cities.

Stanek Gallery’s upcoming exhibitions at its Philadelphia location will serve as a precursor to the Miami launch. These shows, described by Stanek as a “love letter to Philadelphia,” celebrate the city’s foundational support. The exhibitions will debut during a festive launch event on September 14, featuring many of the artists who will later be showcased in Miami.
