South Beach Jazz Summer Series Offers Six Free Concerts to Miami Beach

Miami Beach’s July music calendar is moving from strings and swing to Latin jazz and salsa as the South Beach Jazz Summer Series presents six free concerts at cultural landmarks across the city. The program opened July 16 at The Bass and continues through July 31, with four performances still ahead at Ocean Drive Promenade, Euclid Oval, Normandy Fountain, and the Art Deco Welcome Center.

Presented by Power Access in partnership with local cultural and business organizations, the series brings each performance to a different part of Miami Beach. Admission is free, but advance RSVP is required through the South Beach Jazz Festival website.
Opening Performances
The series began July 16 with the Frost Alternative String Ensemble at The Bass Rotunda. The group features young musicians from the University of Miami and the wider South Florida community.

JECC With Nicole Yarling
Friday, July 24, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Ocean Drive Promenade
The Jazz Educators Community Coalition, led by Nicole Yarling, will showcase young musicians while connecting jazz education, mentorship, and live performance on Ocean Drive. RSVP for JECC with Nicole Yarling.
Latin Jazz With Tony & The Kings
Saturday, July 25, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Euclid Oval
Tony & The Kings will bring a blend of Puerto Rican, Cuban, and African musical traditions with funk and soul influences to Lincoln Road. The concert is presented with the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District. RSVP for Latin Jazz with Tony & The Kings.
Salsa Sunday With Melina Almodóvar
Sunday, July 26, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Normandy Fountain
Singer Melina Almodóvar, known as “La Muñeca de la Salsa,” will headline an evening of live salsa accompanied by Argentine barbecue and local vendors. The event is presented with the Normandy Fountain Business Association. RSVP for Salsa Sunday.
Patio Jazz With The G.G. Quartet
Friday, July 31, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Art Deco Welcome Center
The G.G. Quartet, featuring Izzi Guzman, Michael Gaspari, Diego Clavixus, and Alex Maciulewicz, will close the series with a patio performance. The Art Deco Museum will also offer free admission during extended hours from 5 to 7 p.m. RSVP for Patio Jazz.

The series receives support from Miami-Dade County, the City of Miami Beach, and the Florida Department of State’s Division of Arts and Culture, along with their respective cultural affairs councils.
